I was having pain in my left heel when I walked. It got to the point that I went to a podiatrist. He recommended I get better shoes and begin some exercises for my feet. I had always worn the cheapest, least supportive shoes and was now paying for it. My doctor turned me onto Brooks Addictions and they have made a huge impact. In addition to the exercises, the shoes have alleviated the pain and soreness I felt after walking or standing for long periods. I've now got three pairs and have thrown out all my old shoes. Comfort and relief!

They are comfortable and have good arch support. My husband is on concrete all day long and he says these are great shoes!

These shoes were comfortable walkers right out of the box. So much so, in fact, that I immediately got another pair in brown. They have a tread that is aggressive for rougher walking, but is perfectly suited for pavement as well.

I stand on my feet at work for 10-12 hours and find no fatigue at all. I feel as fresh at the end of the day as the beginning, and I am in my 60's. I have been wearing Brooks walking shoes for years with the same great results, change models occasionally but do not feel any difference. They look and feel great.

Great fitting shoe. Shoe can be worn with jeans or slacks. I have a long narrow foot and these are one of the few shoes that I have found that are comfortable and are narrow enough to fit my foot.

I love these shoes! Yes, they are hideously ugly, but feel so good. I’m on my feet for 8+ hours a day, and after 3 weeks of wear, these keep feeling better every day. Save the money you waste on insoles, and spend the money on these. The soles appeared to be non-slip, but sadly they are not. Probably the only flaw, in an otherwise perfect restaurant work shoe.

Best shoe I've ever worn. From day one, these shoes felt completely comfortable. I've walked a great deal in them and never felt uncomfortable. They also look almost good-as-new after 4 months of every-day wear.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Europe and they performed better than expected. We walked thru Paris and London for 3 weeks straight, from 8am to 7pm at night. I could not believe how comfortable they were as they have a great balance between cushioning and support. Before purchase, I thought they looked a little "clunky", but it turns out the Nubuck brown looks great with jeans and not too bad with chinos. If I had to pick a fault, it would be that they do not breath as well as running shoes and get a little warm at times. But they are my first choice everyday when I chose what to wear.

Good solid and comfortable shoe. Fits true to size and width. Would recommend this shoe to others for casual wear. The response from Zappos was excellent in terms of price and shipping.

I did a lot of research online to find a shoe that would help with plantar fasciitis. This shoe was recommended by a number of reviewers and one medical website. I ordered the shoe a 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe. I had my shoes in 2 days from Zappos! What great delivery service! With the shoe a 1/2 size larger, it fit perfectly. These shoes have helped my feet immensely. My feet simply do not hurt when I wear these shoes, and I can tell a definite improvement in my condition. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet.

I have 3 bulging disks and one degenerative back disk. Walking on hard surfaces had become very painful. A friend recommended I try the Brooks Addiction Walker. Within a few days I found I could walk several miles without back pain. This is now My Shoe!

I wear orthotics and these shoes are excellent, and look great as well. I bought these to wear as walking shoes for a trip to Europe (instead of the gym-look of the Nike Air Pegasus I normally wear). Besides looking good, I like them because my orthotics raise my heel in shoes and this typically causes my heel to raise up too high under the "heel counter" (the part of the shoe that grips the heel) of most shoes even when the foot bed is removed. These Brooks shoes accommodate that problem very well and are comfortable with my orthotics. Perhaps the best thing about them is that they let the orthotic, not the shoe, control and correct my foot. What I mean by that is they appear to contain a solid sole, which is a good base for my orthotic. Many running shoes have features that control pronation or supination, etc. My podiatrist notes that those features work against the features in a good orthotic.

My husband hates to shoe shop and he has narrow, flat feet as well as plantar fasciitis. So I found several pair of shoes on Zappos and ordered them for him. These Brooks Addicition Walkers were comfortable the moment he tried them on. Even more comfy than the New Balance 993's that formerly the only shoes he could wear. He loves them so we got a second pair for him. Thanks Zappos for making shoe shopping easy.

I have finally found a shoe that I can recommend to anyone that works all day on a concrete floor. I walk/stand 8+ hours every day as a sales associate. Just received my 2nd pair - first pair started losing cushion after 9 months. Nothing lasts forever!

This was not the first time I have ordered from Zappos. It is the first time I have written a review. Frankly, I was amazed at how quickly we received the shoes, even though we live in a somewhat rural area. My husband chose these shoes over all others ordered and promptly declared them one of the best shoes ever. BROOKS ADDICTION: This is one of the most comfortable walking shoes ever made. The primary comfort key in this shoe is cushioning although it is also a very stable shoe. The cushioning is so excellent that the designers sacrificed some rebound rigidity in favor of cushioned comfort. Due to the heavy cushioning it is not the best shoe for running - but is outstanding for walking at a slow to medium pace or standing on feet all day. One of the reasons I decided to write this review is all the other reviews that say this shoe is true to size are misleading. This shoe is 1/2 to 1 full size too small. I wear 12 in most other shoes and I had to have the 12.5 - and even at this size it is a little snug but I like it like that. I could easily have gone with the 13. Order up a 1/2 to 1 full size!

I have horrible feet! Bunions on both, but don't need surgery; yet!! Have worn a lot of Ecco shoes but tried some Brooks' on a recommendation! Bought 3 different Adrenaline gym type shoes but wanted sometning to wear to work. On my feet all day and these Addictions are extremely comfortable! Wear inserts but don't need them with these shoes; more comfortable without them! Highly recommended!!

When I could no longer tolerate heel pain after years of working "on my feet," I decided to purchase the "Addiction Walkers." Excellent shoe, great support, and comfort. I ordered one evening and Zappos got it to my door the next day!! Why shop anywhere else???

Excellent support. I have ankles that roll over my arch and wear custom orthotics with this shoe. Very comfortable.

I bought these for my husband who is one picky shoe customer. He LOVES the Brooks. Says that they are comfortable, fit his feet perfectly, and are great for his daily walks. I’ve been a Brooks fan ever since I tried on my first pair of Vapors over 15 years ago. These people know how to make great shoes. Too bad they’re so hard to find in brick and mortar retail stores. Normally, I would have ordered a 12 C, but had discovered that these shoes tend to be a bit narrower and shorter for the size, so ordered a half size larger (12.5) and a size wider (D) and they fit.

Zappos is great. Great site. Quick delivery. Easy returns. These shoes are very nice - bought arch supports b/c the ones with the shoe weren't enough for my incredibly flat feet.

GREAT SHOES for support. I have bone spurs and need to wear orthotics for support and to avoid pain. These shoes have enough space inside the front box to accommodate the orthotics while at the same time they have enough cushioning around the heels and ankles so that they can be tied and not slip without having to be tied so tightly that the laces begin to cut off circulation. I have narrow heels and a broad front foot with a long, projecting second toe. These shoes have a large enough front box so that the front of my feet are not pinched and at the same time they fit snugly at the ankles. For years I have worn a size 12; with these shoes, I wear a 13.

I\'ve worn Addiction Walkers for several years. They provide comfort, good support and wear well. Due to foot problems, Brooks brand was recommended to me by my podiatrist.

Good overall shoe. Brooks provides the 4EE width I need, so that is what I like best of this shoe. Does not have as much cushion as the Brooks \'Beast\', but it also does not have mesh so it keeps your toes warmer in the winter months.

I have narrow, flat feet and have trouble finding shoes. These shoes are one of a handful that will come close to fitting me. I take an A width; but with thick socks these shoes in a B width will work. The shoe has the ability to lace tightly which is important. This helps to keep the heel in place with no slippage. The shoe fits fine and the rubber sole helps on ice and snow. The sole has wide spaces between the grooves rather than narrow ones; this helps to avoid tracking in sand and dirt into the house. Shoes look very good and I enjoy wearing them. Would recommend them. Have worn them in shopping mall and they provided good comfort on the hard tile/cement of the mall.
