These boots are very comfortable. The easily fit over jeans and pants and didn't need much time to be broken in. I am very happy with them!

So cute & comfortable but runs extremely large. I am ordinarily a 7 1/2 -8, and I ordered the 7 1/2. They were so big, I am dropping down to a 6 1/2 for my next order.

I already wrote a review, but forgot to mention one thing. I have zero problem getting these boots on and off. I even ordered a half size down. I wore them when flying and was faster than most people at the security line when I took off/put my boots back on.

Love these boots. I ordered several different size and color combinations. I ended up with the tan and it goes with everything in my closet. Some main points I wish I read in a review. Order a half size down (maybe even a full size if you have skinny feet.). I tried my normal size, but it was way too big. These are tall boots. I am 5'3", 118lbs. These hit just below my knee. If I weren't in love with the look of the boot so much, I may have sent them back. They lower a little bit as they break in. Plenty of room to tuck in skinny jeans and they would look cute with a skirt, too. If I could change something I would make the heel slightly taller, maybe a 1/2" or something. If you need a lot of arch support, consider inserts. I get non stop compliments when I wear these. Worth the money and I am saving up for my next pair of Frye boots.

These boots run a bit large, but they are beautiful in person. Great color. The boots are also lined with leather and I anticipate that I could have them for years if I take care of them. They look great with gray, black, blue jeans, leggings, etc. They are high on the calf, but not to the knee.

I've been searching for a tall, black riding boot with a circumference to accommodate my 14.25" calves and tucked in jeans (I'm 5'2" tall). With regard to size, I had to get a smaller size (6.5) than I have in my Frye Harness boots (size 7). For the most part, these boots fit my requirements. However, I'm really debating whether I want to keep these boots. They are truly beautiful, but the effort it takes just to get them on and off is a major deterrent. After reading a number of reviews, I'm also concerned about the leather sole and the added expense of having rubber soles added. I'm a huge Frye fan, but I'm still shopping around for better boots. I would be perfectly content if Frye added an ankle zipper and more durable soles.

These are some pretty awesome boots -- they keep my tootsies warm and chic; a quality that not many other boots can boast about. The downfall of the boots is just how damn difficult they are to get on and off. It literally takes me 5 minutes to get the right one on. I'm hoping that this is just the newness and once they break in they'll be easy to work with.

This is a great boot that is very stylish. I tried the Melissa button, the Paige Tall, and the Shirley Riding boot. The Paige Tall and the Shirley were similar in color and calf shape, but I preferred the buckles on the Shirley. The Melissa is stiffer, with a thinner calf. It is more of a classic boot that is easily dressed up or down. The way the Paige and the Shirley slouch make it a little harder to dress them up. But, it is an absolutely gorgeous leather boot. I love Frye boots and really cannot buy any other brand.

Beautiful soft leather, excellent quality. Fit well around my calves which are about 15.25" plus skinny jeans, so that's nice. Returning because a) color is very yellow, like work boots according to my husband, and b) the front of the ankle looks like a turkey neck - all loose and baggy, and they bunch up oddly when I walk. Ordered my regular size, and they'd be great with thicker socks, but otherwise I could do a half size down for tights.

Love these boots - great leather and feel but they didn't fit around my calf, so they bunched up around my ankle. I have a 15 inch calf and they were tight. There is no way I could get jeans or leggings in there. These are not for strong/athletic or just chubby legs. I agree with others - order a 1/2 size down.

Just got these today in the burnished brown color. What was most disappointing was that the finish on one boot appeared to be light grayish in areas and very obvious. I haven't decided if it's a big enough reason to return. Other than that, they seem great. They are definitely generous in the calf area and do seem a little bulky, but I imagine they will look super cute with skinny jeans or leggings. They are comfortable; I toggle between a 8.5 and 9, so I ordered the 8.5 and they fit perfectly. Also, it doesn't seem like I'll need to spend a lot of time breaking them in as they were extremely comfortable from the get-go. As others noted, they have very very little traction on the sole so if I keep them, I'll definitely be bringing them in to the shoe guy to get some rubber put on them. There's no way I'd survive a Chicago winter otherwise. The leather seems thick and durable enough to justify the price tag. I was hoping that these boots would be made in the US but alas, they were made in Mexico.

This is an excellent fall\/winter boot. The quality is fantastic and is very simple yet stylish. Get a half size smaller as the leather stretches quite a bit.

The saddle is very orange in coloring and was not to my liking. However, the tan is beautiful. And I normally wear between and 8 1/2 and 9 (usually a 9 in boots) and the 8 1/2 fits great. Also, I have annoyingly skinny calves and these are not too huge. Hope this helps!

I love these boots! I really wanted a simple, flat black boot and these are great. I usually wear a 7 1\/2 to an 8. I ordered these in a 7 1\/2 and didn\'t realize until after wearing them outside I should have gone down another 1\/2 size. So they do run fairly large.

These boots are gorgeous and it killed me to have to return them! I have skinny calves and these just did not work for me--the top of the boot was way too wide for me. There's a "V" cut at the top back section of the boot that makes the top edge of the boot fan out--I might have kept them if this wasn't there, even though they would still have been too loose for me at the top. They run 1/2 size large in the foot--I'm usually a 6 and I ordered a 5.5 and they fit perfectly in the foot. As for the height--I'm 5'3" and they hit just below the knee, perfect. They're beautiful boots and so well made--had they fit me, they could have been worn with anything.

I was very excited to receive a pair of these boots for Christmas, but am pretty disappointed in the quality of the heel material. The leather on the boot itself is beautiful and the fit is nice as well. However, I have already had to resole these boots after less than 3 weeks because synthetic the heel was completely worn down to the leather. I have never had this problem with any other shoes, so I was quite surprised when it happened. The boots are otherwise comfortable and well made. I would recommend investing in a rubber sole prior to use (or at least be prepared to spend more money within a few weeks after purchase).

Love the look of these boots. I am usually a 7.5 or 8 but ordered a 7 bec that was all that was available and I really wanted them. Of course they were too small and then zappos emailed me that other sizes were available so got the 8. They are a little big...I would say the 7.5 would be perfect but I decided to keep the 8 and put gel soles inside them. They fit better but they are still not the most comfortable boots I own...but they look great!

These boots are fabulous and well worth the price. I have muscular calves and these slide right on up with no bunching or squeezing. They look great over skinny jeans or pants and also with skirts. I LUUUUUUUUUUV these boots! I can never find tall boots that fit all over so these ones made me do a little dance of joy. These are gorgeous, no extra embellishment, no weird stitching or jewelry just perfect, gorgeous, well made, classic boots that I will wear forever. I ordered a size 8 when I've been wearing 8 1/2 lately in other brands and they fit perfectly. I am one happy shopper.

I bought Frye's Paige Tall riding boots in black in a size 8 (I tried on my usual size 8.5 on a Bloomingdales and they were too big). The 8 fits fine, but these boots definitely need some breaking in. Do not walk plan to walk long distances in them for the first 4-5 wears. They do look beautiful, but comfort? Let's just say I'm okay with suffering for my fashion.

I wanted to love these boots, I just didn't. They looked very strange on me. I was hoping these boots would work on me since I read that they have wider calves and the style I was going for, but they made my legs look shorter and chubby. I'm short (around 5'3") and a size 10, so I'm not a super skinny girl, but I wasn't expecting to look shorter and bigger. I think these look great on tall, skinny girls, they just didn't work on me. The leather was beautiful though, and they were well made. I'm going to get the Melissa Button boots by Frye; they flatter me more.

These boots are very sexy. I have really skinny calves and large feet. I do wish that they could be a little smaller around the calf. They have taken me a really long time to break in, but now are starting to after about 10 uses. These boots will last forever!

I finally purchased these boots after months of deliberation, definitely the most expensive shoe purchase I have ever made. I love the style of these boots. They are beautifully designed without being over embellished. The leather is of great quality and looks fantastic. Basically, exactly what I wanted. I had to send these boots back, however, because the fit in the ankle and calf were huge. I am 5ft 2in and around 115 lbs. My calves were swimming in these boots. I'm extremely disappointed that I have to send these back. If not for the fit, I would have kept these in a heartbeat. I hope that Frye will one day make a knee-high boot that is more fitted and streamlined, for me! And to all you skinny-calved ladies out there: you may want to look elsewhere!

Okay, so this is my third review. I mentioned before that they got soaked and the water damage never went away. I took them to a cobbler to get the water damage out. He did, but the lower part of the boot was now faded looking and a lighter color. He also told me that waterproofing these might change the color where it's applied. Since I have the tan ones, that was out of the question. I was so upset, I contacted Frye again and this time somebody got back to me and told them I could send them back for an exchange. I'm currently looking for another Frye boot to replace these with. Definitely not getting the Paige but something with more solid leather. The leather on these is very fine and delicate and will never withstand any kind of adverse weather conditions. Once again, if you plan to get the tan color, and wear them out in the rain I strongly urge you to reconsider. At least get a dark color that you can waterproof. Of course these aren't "rain boots", duh, but I live in NYC where it rains all fall and winter, and i cant worry about a little bit of water every time I wear them. If I spend this much on boots, I want to wear them all the time! Overall, I would give these a 4 star because they are cute, and comfortable. But beware of water damage, and get at least a half size smaller than your normal size. After wearing mine 5-6 times they stretched, and the 9 was way too big and I wear a 9.5!

Good Boots, but I don't love them, I was looking foward to these boots since I really decided to splurge (Frye boots are my new guilty pleasure). I was looking for a dark brown tall boot with a low heel. I work from home and have horses. I like to be stylish and updated, but still be able to get to the barn if I need to. While these fit the bill, they were almost too casual and slightly dowdy. The foot and ankle are pretty slouchy and don't have a whole lot of structure. They reminded me of the boots worn by the men on 'Little House on the Prarie'. I couldn't see myself pairing these with a skirt. The sole was also pretty thin. If I pay this much for boots I would expect them to last for years. I would have trouble believing they would last more than a couple, then you have to have them resoled. However, they were comfortable and you could walk quite a bit in them with no worries. Since I already purchased a black pair of tall Frye boots (which I LOVE), these are going back and I will wait until next fall for the brown ones. My brown Frye Engineer boots will get me through this fall and winter.
