Love these boots! Get compliments every time I wear them. I think they run 1/2 size too big or you can just wear a thicker sock to compensate.

Definitely order half a size smaller. I am normally an 8 but I got these in a 7½ and although I had trouble getting one of my feet in the first few times, they have broken in nicely. The white dusty-type finish also comes off with a cloth or just multiple wears. I will probably waterproof mine with a leather wax as well.

The leather on these boots is amazing and they fit my calves beautifully. I am a size 9 and have rather wide feet and 15.5" calves so trying on boots is always a process. Like some other reviewers said it is very hard to get these boots on an off. They are gorgeous and if you have the patience to break them in i am sure they are well worth it. For me, i could not imagine wrestling with them again and for the price, sadly i had to return them.

I wanted to love these boots so much! They are very cute, and I've been longing for a pair of Fryes for years...unfortunately they did not look right on me. They are easier to get on and off then a lot of pull on boots but this causes the ankle to be much looser than I'd like. It allows for too much movement of the leather when you walk, make it feel sort of floppy. It's a shame, they're such beautiful boots I wanted to make them work but for $350 they need to be perfect!

I love these boots! Worth every penny! I have searched years and years for a boot to fit over my calves and I have finally found a pair. Now I do have to do a little wiggling and stomping and pulling but I get compliments every time I wear them and they are super comfortable so they are totally worth the stomping and pulling. Overall, recommend this to everyone with larger calves than the average boots make room for.

Got these yesterday and there was some kind of white powder all over them. And the color was not as deep brown as in the picture. The color was actually more of a light brown. Another pair going back!

Cute cute boot. I'm 5'1" and the shaft height seems too high for me and did'nt hit comfortably at the knee.
The toe box also seemed a little narrow for a medium width. So sad they're going back...

I love this boot and get so many compliments. But there is one big negative which is how thin the sole is. After wearing 5 times decided to take in to my local cobbler and paid to have rubber soles put from just behind ball of foot to the toe. Even he commented how much sole had worn down under toes. I am keeping but beware....for such high priced boots the soles are not up to par.

I absolutely love this boot. Unfortunately for my height of 5'3" the boot was too tall. I love Frye boots and ended up with the Frye Paige Stud, in grey which is just slightly shorter. I think if my legs were just an inch longer this boot would have been perfect. It certainly is a gorgeous boot.

I think the design and aesthetic appeal of this boot is beyond beautiful. I will say the quality of leather left me a little sad-very thin, not like the thick sturdy stuff of the campus boot or others by Frye I own.

I really love the look and feel of these boots. I own other Frye boots so I know the quality is exceptional. I was, however, disappiinted in the color. I ordered the burnished brown and they arrived completely covered in a waxy powder. I loved the boots so much, I wiped wirh a damp warm cloth and conditioned them with my Frye leather conditioner. This helped but I still don't believe the color is as beautiful as represented. I am going to keep them and rock 'em anyway!

Hello! I'm a first time Frye boot buyer. I was so excited when they arrived, but when I opened the box, I was a little perplexed. The boots were covered with what looked like baby powder. I thought something was wrong, but then after looking at the Frye website, this powdery substance is completely natural. Frye boots naturally produce a coating that is called "bloom" (Hunter rain boots do this as well). This can be easily removed with a clean, dry cloth.
So, don't assume that there is something wrong. They just need a little buffing right out of the box. After waterproofing, the color was richer and slightly darker.

These boots are very cute and the style is great. But when they arrived they were much more brown than they are gray. I think they appear much more gray in the pictures than they are in person. They are like a deep brown leather boot with a gray wash.

This boot fits my calves, well on my left leg anyway, I couldn't get it past my instep on my right foot, if you have larger calves try these out. For some reason Frye boots don't go past my right foot instep. These are beautiful, though, and I wish I could keep them.

These boots were truly fantastic but unfortunately I just couldn't justify keeping them. Just for a reference point for others buying them, I am 5'10", usually a size 12 foot with a 16 inch calf. I received them today and while they were a little bit of a struggle to get on, within a minute or two I had it. Once on I can honestly say they fit great, even though I had to order a size 11. I had plenty of room in the foot and the calf, and my normally high arches were not a problem. I ordered the dark brown and I didn't think it would be as dark as it was. The first thing I noticed was how they slouched a lot below my calves. That is what has me sending them back. They just didn't look right on me, and for the money spent it wasn't worth it. I am disappointed. They are gorgeous boots though, and as always it was smooth sailing dealing with Zappos. Love them, and will continue to be a loyal customer!

I bought these boots last (2011) Christmas in the dark brown calf leather, and I have loved them dearly every day since. They are the perfect go-to boot. I wear them with skinny jeans and leggings in the fall and winter, even allowing them to make the transition into summer with me and denim shorts. They're ultra versatile, and I still get compliments on them a year after having them. They've aged beautifully, perhaps even becoming more attractive and comfortable. The quality of the boot is unparalleled... like most Frye products. I have my sights set on the Melissa Button this Christmas!

I'm a runner with athletic calves (about 16") and high arches and looked forever for a pair of quality boots that I could actually get on. The Paige boots are those boots. I guess my feet are different sizes because the right foot went on right away, but the left posed me some trouble. After getting it on and wearing it around I can already feel it breaking in. I had a few problems with blistering on my heels after walking all day, but I expect that will stop after a break in period. I find that my foot slips back and forth a bit, but I couldn't have gone smaller and still gotten my high-arched foot into the boot. I wasn't so keen on the extra leather outer, as it does tend to make your legs seem a little wide, but in the end it wasn't a deal breaker for me. These boots are high, and come up to hit the back of my knee (I'm 5'8").

Absolutely beautiful pair of boots--I've been getting complements on the street from day 1. I was initially worried the front flap would make my unusually wide calves (14.5") look even wider but it does not. Very comfortable after a few days breaking in. My only complaint is that the sole is slippery and does not seem particularly durable. I'm not really sure how it would survive more than a season or two so I plan to get a protective sole with some traction on them soon. Otherwise, highly recommend.

I loved the look and style of these boots but unfortunately they were way too "tall" for me. I'm 5'2" and the boot came over my knee so that I was almost unable to bend my legs to walk. I also had a terrible time trying to get them off. I think if I was a few inches taller they would fit perfect. I ended up sending them back and bought the Melissa Button boot and they fit perfectly for my height.

It took me a while to spend the money on this highly recommended boot. The Paige tall riding is at the top of every fashion hit list for this Fall. It is gorgeous leather and after a blister or two, broke in very nicely. What I would be careful about is the height of this boot. It is so tall! I am 5'10 and I cant imagine anyone shorter than that wearing them. It is a huge boot, not only in height but in width. I wasnt crazy about the extra flap of leather once on my leg, as it is not slimming on the calf but it is attractive looking. This boot is not for smaller girls.

I so wanted to love these boots, but they weren't what I expected. They are beautifully made, but a detail at the top makes them a bit chunky...not elegant. Also, they are very tall, when I sat down that hit right in the back of my knee...and I am a tall drink of water at 5'10".

This is a lovely boot; however, I purchased the cognac (beautiful color - a tad shiny) in a size 9 (I normally wear a 9 1/2) and the boot is extremely large. I will be sending these back for a much smaller size. There was too much room at the toes and my heel was slipping all around the boot. Like other reviewers, I also had a little trouble getting my foot out of the boot. Nothing too terrible...just a bit of a struggle (perhaps due to my high arch). Zappos has the best customer service. I plan on calling in the morning and I am sure I will have another pair the next day.
