This is a beautiful boot however it does not fit my 15" calf circumference. They were very tight. I was disappointed that it just won't work for me.

These are gorgeous boots. I got them in gray and thought twice about the price, but I really wanted a gray pair that would last. I am a little disappointed in the gray b/c they aren't really gray, more of a brown, which I have many of. They are still a unique brown, and I am keeping them. But buyer of the gray beware.

I tried these on in a long search for riding boots that fit my calves. Attractive boot! It was really hard to get my foot through the ankle. The foot of the boot felt large and the shaft didn't fit around my calf. It was too bad I had to return them!

Frye Paige Tall Riding in Dark Brown Calf Leather 6½M - I liked this style more in person than on screen! Alas, 14¼" circumference was not enough for me. The leather was beautiful in quality and color. Tightness in calf made the boot bag at my ankle though and I did not want to risk having them stretched for that starting price. Frye must think only thin-calfed chicks look good in their boots. Thanks, Zappos, for making the free returns painless at least.

I have these in the saddle color, and the leather quality is beautiful. It is worth mentioning that after three years of wear, the leather soles completely fell apart, and I have to take them to a cobbler to be resoled. That said, I do think they are quality as the leather looks better with age. It is more soft and supple. These are comfortable boots! The saddle color is close to camel, but they look a bit orangeish in some lights. Sometimes I wonder if I should have gotten a more tan color. These boots have softened with age though and are very comfortable for walking around the city.

Unfortunately, this beautiful boot was not flattering to my particular proportions. I am 5'2" with a 13.5" calf circumference and the top of this boot touched the bottom of my knee cap. Too high for my taste. Also, the opening at the top of the boot was large enough that I could fit my entire hand in with the boot on. That said, the style is wonderful. I ordered the "Grey Vintage Veg Tan" color, and it was beautiful. A unique neutral color that would pair well with most colors. It was neither light nor dark. Perfect color to wear throughout Fall and Winter. Unfortunately, because of the fit I had to return it. I also own a pair of Frye Melissa Button, which for me is a better fit for my body type.

This is such a beautiful boot and the antique gray is not only unique but gorgeous! I really wanted to keep them, but at this price you need to be able to walk gracefully in them and that's where the problem was for me. I wear a size 9 and my feet are definitely more wide than narrow. My heels kept slipping out with every step and a thicker sock wasn't going to help. They needed to be more tailored around the ankle to prevent the slipping. For women with bigger calves, this would be a non-issue with this boot. Unfortunately, I'll be returning them hoping to find another style in that exact leather.

Let me preface this review by saying I love these boots - love them. They were easy to waterproof, look good with both pants and skirts (and fit over my large calves, too!), and I feel like I'll have them for years to come. However, having them for years to come will apparently require getting new soles every year. I bought these at the end of February 2013, and here in the middle of December 2013, I already have quarter-sized holes developing in each sole. I don't wear these nearly as often as would dictate, though the walking I do in Washington, D.C. isn't a small amount. Still, just a heads up for anyone considering these - you'll need to keep investing!

Really beautiful boots, so I am sad to have to return them. Thick leather that seem like they will slouch a little as they break in but I am 5'4" and these boots are too tall for me. They came up a little past the bottom of my knee cap. This was the first pair of Fryes that I ordered. Good thing there are so many other really great options. Thanks again to Zappos for making it easy to shop online!

I have wanted these boots and they have been sitting patiently in my wishlist for about 5 years. And finally just now as able to justify the cost! Due to the handy, easy Zappos return policy, I ordered two sizes to try, 7 1/2 (which is my typical size in most shoes) and 7. After huffing and puffing to get my foot in to both of them (grateful for the plastic grocery bag trick I learned reading HUNDREDS of reviews for Frye boots), the 7 was more comfortable, the 7 1/2 definitely felt too long. They fit my 14 1/2" calves with ease. I was disappointed in the color though, I ordered the saddle and the pair I got was very light tan, not the lovely warm color in the picture. (Even after I dusted off the protective powdery stuff.) My calves are of the "athletic" variety, and I felt that the styling details, with the extra flap of leather at the top, sort of flared out and made my lower legs look even bigger... the pirate boot look that others have mentioned! But my husband really liked them. I went back and forth a LOT, but for the cost, they really need to be perfect. Then, feeling like a traitor to Zappos, I found them on Amazon on sale for a good price off and re-ordered the exact same size/color. The leather appeared completely different, the wonderful rich saddle color I wanted. This pair feels a bit more narrow, but after walking circles around my carpeted bedroom, they are already molding to my feet. I'm probably keeping those. Take home on Frye... they are hand made and thus, each pair has a nuance in size and appearance. I say, keep ordering them until you are happy! Don't settle, you'll find the right pair, and it may be a different pair of the exact same size, color, and style. Love them! If you have a high arch, go up a size or you will not be able to put the shoe on. Not too much support, but a Dr. Scholls will help with the extra room and additional comfort. Frye Co. provides 2 yrs of free refurbishing for soles, stitching, leather conditioning etc. through their website.

Really love these boots! Would give them fives stars but Oh my God, I almost returned them because I could NOT pull them on. I'm 8.5 with 16.5 circumference. They do and will stretch in the calves if they seem snug. I got the gray but the color seemed more tan than grey. Super comfortable. Good for girls with big calves like myself where the wide calf doesn't even seem to be wide enough.

This is a beautiful tall boot - very soft and a pretty color. But I am 5'9, 155lbs so I loved the height but the calf extended more than 5" from my leg.

These boots are gorgeous. The tan antique color is so beautiful. Unfortunately I had to return b/c they were bunching up above my ankle. I do have difficult feet to fit and wide calves. The calves felt fine Much higher than I expected as well, almost up to my knees and I am 5'7".

I bought these boots off of Zappos about four years ago and am just writing a review now (I know). I am a known cheapskate and highly recommend these boots. They've held up really well over the years and are definitely worth the investment. The toe curls up a bit, which I am not crazy about even though it's hardly noticeable. Definitely recommend as I have totally gotten my money's worth. You'll like them more after you break them in and make sure to take care of them.

Nice boot, expensive though. I am 5'2 size 5.5 shoe, seemed too tall and a little bulky. Not what I was looking for, sadly.

I just received these boots and they are very pretty but very casual. I ordered the Vintage grey and they are equal parts grey and brown but quite a bit darker than they appear on this page. I have a borderline wide foot but normally am able to wear regular (not special order wide) and these feel narrow right out of the box but I know they will break in a bit. The part that I am rather aghast to is how much room is in the ankle area. I can literally pinch up a total of about 2 inches of empty boot from the area at the front of the ankle area. I am a size 8- not skinny, not pudgy- and the boots have a nice amount of room for skinny jeans without being too loose but the ankle area could fit about 6 pairs of jean width! I am not looking for a slouch boot so I am not sure if I will keep them. The other part I am a bit worried about is the bottom is 100% smooth so absolutely no traction. I live in an area that is fairly rainy and really don't want to slip as I walk in stores so along with the weird ankle bagginess and darker color than I wanted fairly unsure about these boots for the price.

I absolutely love the look of this boot, but as other reviews have mentioned, if you have high arches it is almost impossible to get your foot into them. My daughter and I wear the same size. She had no problem getting them on, while I had to tug so hard I thought I would pull the strap off. I haven't worn them enough to see if they will stretch, because I can only get them over my feet if I put them on when I first get up in the morning. If I've been up all day and try to wear them at night, I guess my feet swell just enough it is impossible. Once on they fit great.

Love these boots. I get lots of compliments when I have worn them. Only problem is for this cost I wore them maybe 5 times and they fell apart. Zappos was great and sent out a replacement pair that came the next day. WOW, What service! Have only worn the new ones twice and hope the same thing doesn't happen to these. They are very comfortable to wear as I am on my feet all day and they are great.

Finally chose these boots after ordering and returning a few pairs of Frye boots. I originally ordered a size 7 (my normal size) in black, but they were too big. My heel slid up too much when I walked. I just received a 6.5 in Cognac and I love them. I will be keeping these. I have never worn a 6.5 before, but this is definitely the size that I need in these boots. Order a half size down! I should have listened to the other reviews before ordering the first pair. I think I'll have these boots a long time. They'll last forever and never go out of style!

I found the color to be more brown than I expected. This wasn't my favorite Frye. I think the structure of the ball/instep compared to the throat are inconsistent. The height of the boot is a little too wide to scrunch down and stay put (and I have fairly thick calves) but feels a little flimsy to stay up.

This is a very pretty boot. My first pair wore out after 3 years and I ordered the exact same sytle and color again to replace them. My only complaint is that each pair seems to fit a bit differently because they are handmade. I ordered two pairs and picked the one that fit the best on my foot. They also run a half size to big. They stretch a lot during wear, so buy them a bit tight to begin with.

These are very beautiful boots. The smooth details, tallness and lack of zipper sold me, but they have to go back. The calf width is just not big\large enough. I am 5'8" with an athletic build.

When I first got these boots they had a whitish powder on them, so that made the shoes look lighter. But it rubs off as you wear them, and the color is beautiful! I totally suggest the Paige boots! Very comfortable overall and they look good with just about anything. My friend has them in the lighter tan color and loves them, too!
