Love these! Read another review about concern for how thin the sole is. I would have to agree but I will more than likely be re-soling these in the future. Very comfortable, more than likely will wear these every day! Fits true to size, love the color.

These boots are absolutely beautiful. I have been eyeing Frye boots for a couple years now, but have never been able to justify the cost. I had many friends convince me it's worth it, and I will have them forever. The whiskey vintage leather is gorgeous. I also have pretty athletic legs from many years of soccer and have always had a hard time finding boots that could fit my legs in them (not to mention whatever pants I had on!). Anyway, these boots are great because I can wear leggings, or skinny jeans and they fit in (snugged depending on thickness of jeans). I love them, and plan on wearing them for many years! (I better be, considering the price!)

I just received these promptly from Zappos! They were a little tricky to slip on as I have wide calves. Also, the size of the shoe itself feels like a 9 rather than the 8.5 I usually wear. Although I will have to wear thicker socks once I've broken the shoe in, I feel the shaft of the boot will be too small if I go down to a size 7.5 or 8. The boot crickles a little more in the ankle that I expected as well; however, it is a very attractive boot and I cannot wait to wear it for the rest of fall and winter!

Beautiful soft leather boots. I got the black ones delivered today. To my relief I was able to get them on and off without a fight. I have 15 1/4 inch calves I can get them on with leggings and skinny jeans. But no extra room at all. Wouldn't want them any tighter. I'm 5'2" and I don't find them too tall. I find it hard to believe when there are reviewers here saying they have 17" calves and they fit? There is a bit of a slouch because of the tightness. I'm hoping with time they will loosen a bit (or I will lose weight!). Last month I bought the Veronica slouch wide calf. That is a comfortable boot. Just wished it would come up higher. If they made them in a tall, they would be so perfect. They are cute boots and I'm happy that they fit because it can be such an ordeal finding tall boots that do.

Love these boots! Finally decided to go for it and spend the money to get quality boots, and I'm so glad I did. These are the boots to get if you have wider calves - mine are 16.5" and these fit great, even over skinny jeans, because of the vent in the back. I got a 10, and I wear a 10-11 usually, depending on the brand. The 10's fit with a little room to spare, so if you're between sizes, definitely order down. I noticed in the reviews that people were sending them back because they couldn't get their feet to slide into them. Another reviewer suggested wrapping your feet in plastic grocery bags first, and that worked for me! I put the bags on over thin socks and will wear them like this until the boots stretch out a little, which they will. Don't send them back until you've tried this! They're already very comfortable and I will wear these with everything. The only issue I have with them is that they are very tall, and I'm a tall girl (5'9") with long legs. The top of the boot hits only about an inch below my knee, so if you're shorter, these might look odd or be uncomfortable. Great buy though, and definitely worth the cost!

These boots are well worth the money. I was a little hesitant to spend that much but they are definitely worth it. If you are debating, just do it! They are true to size and feel very comfortable after just a hour of wearing. I have the grey and they go with everything. I can't wait to get another pair of Frye boots!

I recently picked Paige Tall in black and the Melissa Buttons in Cognac to add to my boot collection, and I must say that these are some of the most comfortable boots right out of the box. I had absolutely no breaking in period, they are wide enough and stylish. I bought them in black and already I'm contemplating getting them in another color as well because I can see these as my go-to boot. They are comfortable for walking, and tall enough to be nice over jeans and with skirts. I am 5'6 and have the hardest time finding "tall" boots that really do come closer to my knee than mid-shin. These boots are a winner.

Absolutely love this boot. I bought it in my regular size (8.5) and half-size larger (9) and the 8.5 fit perfectly. It is definitely a bit of a challenge to get the boot off, but I'm hoping the other reviewers are correct in that it gets easier with time. I have athletic (not skinny) calves and this boot leaves enough room for skinny jeans to fit and not be tight. Yes, they are expensive, but they are like slippers on your feet so comfortable. I also bought the Frye Lindsey Plate and sent those back because they were just a "little" too dressy for me. I just wanted something to wear with jeans and casual sweater dresses. If you get them, you will not be disappointed.

I absolutely love these boots! I usually have a hard time finding boots because of athletic calves, but these actually fit! After much debate, I purchased the Cognac, and get so many compliments on the color. They are really rich looking in person and go with everything. I have seen several reviews talk about getting a half size down, but I had no issue getting my actual size 7. I definitely recommend getting the Frye Leather Conditioning Cream...it helps with weather proofing and scuffs and also makes the leather more supple to help with breaking them in. I'm already looking at purchasing more Frye boots because these are so fabulous!

These boots are awesome! I had tried at least two dozen pairs of boots on before getting these. These fit well, hold their shape and don't slouch. I am 5'5 and have shorter legs, so tall boots can be too tall, but these come up right below my knees. I have medium sized athletic calves and they fit great with skinny jeans! I got the dark brown and they are perfect. They are a little lighter than the picture (which makes them seem almost black). They are really a rich dark chocolate brown. Worth the money! Great fit and great comfort.

Love these boots. I've been looking for grey boots for the last year and finally found a pair I love.

I know "OMG, amazing!" is not all that helpful but it is true. I have large calves and can't find boots that fit well. The shafts on these are big enough to fit skinny jeans and leggings. I don't know if I would try to tuck in boot cuts. Every time I wear them, they mold to me more. I am looking forward to a long time with these new friends.

Beautiful boot, I thought I would give it a try even though circumference is 16" (I'm 17"). I thought perhaps this would be one of the Frye boots with a lot of give, but no. I couldn't get it on at all, but I highly recommend it for anyone with a normal to smaller calf. They do seem thinner than boots like the Harness but still worth it. The height is fabulous even on a petite.

I love these boots! They are so comfortable! They were a little tight getting them on and off for the first few times, but are now pretty easy. The only think that I do not like is they are a little bigger in the ankle area than I like. But overall a great pair of boots! I am sure that I will have them for years!

These boots are amazing and gorgeous. They are phenomenal. I ordered the whiskey color and it is a magnificent rich caramel/auburn/brown. They are comfortable from the first minute I put them on and I love the height and the look. I am 5'2" and they come about 2 fingers below my knee. I ordered a 7. I have other Frye boots that are 7's and tend to rub the toes on my larger foot, but these boots in a 7 are perfect and roomy. Buy them! These fit like roomy 7's. They are perfect for me because I wear a 7-7 1/2.

As a tall girl (5' 10") with a 16" muscular calf, I have to search far and wide to find a boot that I can fit into. I ride horses, and have to have my real riding boots custom made for the same reason. I tried every (fashion) boot on in my city last year, to no avail. I was despairing of ever finding a boot that I liked that I could also get into. I found these yesterday at an upscale store locally and bought a pair in the dark brown calf leather. They are gorgeous and they fit! I didn't even have to have the calves stretched, which they said could be done. They feel very broken in after just one wear. I am thrilled beyond words to finally be able to wear a cute pair of boots like everyone else does! I will be ordering the black ones from Zappos as well, then maybe the gray, and the tan. If you have wider calves like I do, this is the boot.

Gorgeous boots! A little hard to get on, as the other reviews said, but only the first time. Comfortable right out of the box; wore them all day. I ordered a half size larger than normal, which will be perfect with socks. Roomier around the calf than the Melissa Button Extended size, which were a little snug on me. The cute v-shaped notch in the back helps.

These are beautiful boots and feel sumptuous. They were more expensive than I would typically pay for shoes, but I am sure that I will be getting my money's worth. They look great with everything. The width of the calf is perfect for me (I know some other reviewers had issues with that).

I have had these boots now for about a month, and I absolutely love them. I cannot count the number of times that I have worn them and people have stopped to ask where I got these boots. Until they are broken in you are going to need someone to assist with getting the boots on and off. Just like any leather they are stiff at first. This is my second pair of Frye boots and I will continue to be a Frye consumer as long as the company continues to build such wonderful products. You will not be disappointed with these boots.

These boots are truly gorgeous! Sadly, they're just too tall for my petite frame (or maybe my legs are just short?). I'm 5'2", 115lbs and they come up just past the bottom of my knee cap and were just way too loose in the calf.

These boots are a beautiful accessory in my closet! The heel is a bit tough to break in, but once you do...you're good to go! Great with jeans, leggings and anything else in your fall line up!

I just received my boots yesterday and I love them. The style of the boot is beautiful and the leather is amazing. The boot runs a half size smaller than normal. I wear a size 9 but ordered a size 8 1/2 and they fit perfect. If you have a high arch, it might be a little difficult to insert the foot in the boot due to no zipper, but after a couple of tries and some walking around they fit just fine. If anyone out there is thinking about buying these boots, believe me you will not regret it. They might seem a little pricey but after trying these boots on they are totally worth it. Thank you Frye for the quality of these boots and thank you Zappos for always providing me with exceptional service.

I lusted over these boots for probably a month before my mom decided she had heard enough of my whining, and bought them for me. When they arrived, they were everything I hoped they would be. The leather is gorgeous and soft, the smell amazing, and you can tell the craftsmanship is superior. While I, unlike many of the reviewers here, didn't have much problem getting them on, they are rather tight around my calves, definitely not enough room for anything else but my leg. I'm 5'5", 150 lbs...while I'm certainly no twig, I wouldn't say I'm much larger than average, but I do have small feet, size 6.5. I'm guessing my proportions were just off for my shoe size. Since I really wanted a boot that I would be able to wear over skinny jeans or leggings, I can't justify the cost to hide them under jeans or in any way limit my wearing of them. I'm thinking I'm probably going to return them and try to find a pair of Frye's with a bigger circumference.

Love these boots. I've had my eye on them for 2 years now and finally took the plunge. They are definitely a splurge, but this is my second pair of Frye's and my first pair has held up fantastically. I found the fit to be true to size, I'm a 9. They go on and off more easily than my other pair, and so far are very comfortable. Not too tall as another reviewer experienced, and I only have average length legs; I'm 5'7". I bought both the tan and grey color to decide at home which one I like best. I was leaning toward grey, but changed my mind and kept tan, although they are both gorgeous. There was a powdery coating on my boots, but I wiped it off and I'm good to go -- no biggie. If you can swing the expensive price tag and plan to have these for many years, I say go for it.
