I love these boots! I agonized over the price but finally took the plunge and do not regret it. I got the grey color which actually looks brownish but they go with everything. As the name suggests, they are very tall. I am 6'1" and all leg and they come up just below my knee. I get compliments every time I wear them.

I absolutely love these boots! It was my first pair of Frye boots and there is definitely something special about them! The leather is so soft and comfortable and right away I felt like I could wear them all day. I had to exchange my original 8.5 for an 8 because they were a tiny bit big even with regular socks on. But otherwise, they were a great purchase!

After eyeing these boots for months, I decided to make the plunge and purchase these... and I've never been happier! Like other reviewers, they feel a half size too big. I wear a size 8.5 and have larger (~16 in) calves. They are a little snug when wearing with skinny jeans, but even after wearing them a couple of times, they have stretched out a bit. I was able to pull them on pretty easily. If you have larger calves and are looking for a stylish boot, I would highly recommend this pair.

Love them! I think they run a little long - I had to go down a half size and if you have a real high arch and instep like I do they can be a little tricky to get your foot into as there is no zipper. And I pretty much can't get them off without help! But they look awesome and I can stand on my feet all day and still be comfortable.

I love these boots! They get more and more comfortable every time I wear them! They were extremely hard to get on and off at first (my husband actually had to help me) But they get easier every time. They are true to size, and would strongly recommend the cognac color!

Everything you have heard is true: You will break a sweat struggling into these boots the first several times; they get more comfortable with each wear; they can accommodate healthy-sized calves; they are a little sloppy around the ankles, but not a deal-breaker (I suspect they have to be a little roomy there, though, or no one would be able to get the boots on); and they are smelly. I have had mine for several weeks and they are only now starting to air out. I am not sure they run a full half size larger. I am normally between an 8 1/2 and a 9. I have these in a 9; they are a bit slippy when I am wearing just tights, but are good when wearing heavy socks (which is how I usually wear them). I am not sure an 8 1/2 would have allowed enough room for wool socks. All that said, I love these boots, would buy them again, and recommend them. I have the cognac color and they go with everything.

These boots were a birthday gift and I love them. They are nice and tall with plenty of room to wear jeans under them, and have a wonderful weathered patina. They took me forever to get on and off at first but they have loosened up a bit, and once on are crazy comfortable. My only complaint is that the soles are very smooth with only a bit of tread on the heal and I have slipped a few times in them. I would not want to have to run in them! Otherwise perfect.

I love these boots. The leather is very fine. It took a little patience to get them on the first few times, but once the leather was broken in the go on much easier. They are pretty tall on me. I'm 5'6" and they come right up to my knee. The are a little loose around the upper calf but not slouchy or baggie; just enough breathing room to fit skinny jeans in there. They are the most gorgeous boot I've ever had on my feet. I expect they will last me many many years.

The perfect boot! I love them! I wear them almost every day and have walked several miles at once without blisters or discomfort. Since they have true pull-on styling, they are a little hard to pull off until you break them in. Love these boots!

Beautiful boots, worth every penny. I'm 5'9" w long legs and they're just below my knee which is exactly what I wanted. They're a little difficult to pull off but even that won't take away from a five star rating from me. My first Frye boots but they won't be my last.

This was my first purchase of a Frye boot. I feel in love with the simple pull on style and the color. The boot is very easy to slip on and off. There was no breaking in. I wore them all day and no discomfort. The color is very different than my usual choice of black. I stepped out of my box to order a boot that matches my dog, who is a beautiful silver lab! This is one beautiful boot. Amazing quality of leather. Lots of compliments when wearing them! My response is to go to Zappos!

Love these boots! I can never find boots to fit my athletic calves (shoe size is 7 1/2). I wasn't sure about these since they're pull on, but after reading all the reviews, it seemed like they had ample room in the calf, so I took a chance (and with Zappos' awesome return policy and customer service I wasn't risking anything). And it does! The gray color is perfection, the leather is supple, and I don't have the dreaded calf muffin top! Highly recommend for anyone who has trouble finding boots to fit their calves.

I bought these boots in Tan, too. Very comfortable and I love the classic look. The tan boots are a little looser in the ankle and therefore much easier to get on and off. I have a bit of trouble with these. Had to go up a half size from my normal.

Love these boots. Yes, they are pricey but once you get them on your feet for a few times you'll then know why they are. I bought them a half size larger, and I've worn them know maybe five times, and I say they're perfect because I'm wearing a thicker sock in winter and I like room to move. I will say the first time getting them off was torturous, I thought I'd never do it on my own, but now they are fine with a little work. I'm getting rid of all my past store brand boots that are leather now, because the leather quality looks like vinyl compared to these babies. Leather is thick, high quality and the style on my 5'6 frame is perfect. It sits a bit higher than most but not too crazy high. Love the length and I can easily have them go over skinny jeans comfortable right out of the box and I received many compliments.

Well-made and classic. I'm 6'1" and mostly leg, and these tall boots are the perfect height. I also have a narrow foot; but with foot insoles, they fit perfectly. They are the most expensive shoes I've ever owned, but they are totally worth it!!!! I'm saving up for my next pair of Fryes.

These boots are well worth the price. Though initially stiff and hard to put on, they are now (1 month later) comfortable and come on/off with ease.

In love! Got my boots yesterday (less than 24 hours after ordering them. Zappos, You're amazing!) and they are perfect. I'm normally a size, which is the size I ordered, and the fit couldn't be better. They even fit around my "athletic" calves with room to spare. I have no trouble getting them on or off, which I love. (I have a 2-year-old and a shoes-off policy in my house. Struggling to get a boot off at the front door is not really an option!) These are an all-around great buy for me. A little pricey? Sure, but this is my fourth pair of Frye boots, and they always prove to be worth every penny. Life is short... Get these boots!

I have had these boots for three years in tan, I wear the constantly. I just had to have them resoled. I have worn Frye boots for more than 25 years. They are true riding boots. It feels like going barefoot!

Great boots! Get lots of compliments. The grey color works well with blacks and browns. Stretch a little after wearing them 15-20 times.

I love the Paige Tall Riding boot. They are comfy, a timeless style, and I know they will last me a lifetime. For that, I think it's worth paying a little bit more. What sold me on this boot, though was the roomy calf -- and they aren't even listed as extended calf! My calves just barely fit, though, so while I can wear them with tights, skinny jeans are out of the question, although I am hoping they will stretch out a few millimeters as I wear them in.

I bought these boots under the premise that they had an extra large shaft (mine is 16 1/2 inches), and when they got here, I couldn't pull them up. Super disappointing because they're beautiful (and I need a pair of black boots).

The left boot was way too small, but the right one fit perfectly. So strange, I'm bummed I have to return them.

These boots are amazing! Difficult to get on, easier even the second time. Once you have them on, they feel like butter. Would highly recommend and may buy another color next year. I am 5'10, not quite a wide calf, size 11.5 med width foot. I ordered the 11. They hit 2 in below my knee cap. Awesome.
