These are fabulous boots! So comfortable. The color is more brown than grey though.

I bought my first pair in 2009 and I now have 2 black, 1 tan & 1 gray pair of Paige boots...love, love, love! They look great with leggings, casual weekend dresses and the black pencil skirts I wear to work! These boots are truly versatile & a staple of my wardrobe! I'm a 7.5 or an 8 and I wear these in an 8. Great fit in the toe box, heel and comfortable width. Can't decide if I'm getting another pair of black for work only or dark brown...I might need to buy both pair of Paige boots!!

I purchased these in the grey and when I first opened the box I thought that I had received the wrong color. They are brown! Given, they do have a grey overtone to them, but they are definitely more of a taupe color. I am looking for something to wear with my grey skinny jeans and my grey sweaters and these boots look distinctively brown next to any grey clothing. They were also a snug fit on my 14½" calf. They fit great on my bare legs and with leggings, but were difficult to get over skinny jeans and I could not get them over my slim leg jeans. They are very tall too. At 5'2" they come all the way up to just under my knee. I thought the style was slimming for my wide calves and I am tempted to get them in a dark brown, but I am returning them and continuing the search for the elusive grey boots.

This is an AWESOME boot! I purchased the antique dark brown and the color is perfect. It fits comfortably around my calf where I find that some Frye boots are very tight. Because there is no zipper it is difficult sliding your foot in the boot and getting them off but overall I am extremely happy with my purchase.

The shoes is pretty and unique. The smell of the leather is priceless. I originally ordered size 6½ but exchanged it for a 6 instead which fits me perfectly. I am 5' tall and have average calf size. The top portion is wide than expected. Overall they are worth the price and easy to put on. You cannot use the Frye refurbishing cream wax on this particular boots. I also bought a cognac Melissa riding boots. Half size down is advised. Again they are worth the price

I love these boots, but the shaft is not wide enough for my calves. I always have to get wide shaft boots, but after reading the reviews, I was hopeful that they might work...

Beautiful boot! The quality is awesome! I am happy that I read the reviews. I am 5'6 and take a size 9 in shoes and boots. I am athletic but very average sized calves and they fit perfect in the calves. I ordered these in a 8.5 knowing that quality leather will stretch. Not a big problem getting them on and off as reported.

Great boot! A bit darker than other cognac shoes I've purchased, but the color is still beautiful. Takes a while to break in, but that's to be expected with quality leather. I've gotten lots of compliments!

I absolutely love these boots. I wear them to work almost everyday and everyone loves them! I used to always worry about my boots getting damaged when I wore them, not these, the leather is AMAZING!!!!!

These boots are FANTASTIC. I purchased them at the flagship store in New York; however, when I returned to my hotel, I didn't have enough room to take them with me. Since then, I've been itching to buy them. Absolutely stunning in person. The worn look really adds to their style and appeal. A bit wider than my Melissa boots, but that allows me to wear a thicker sock. I highly recommend them!

These are gorgeous, classy boots.. And now I want them in brown too! They are very comfortable and didn't need a lot of "breaking in".. Zappos had them to my door less than 24 hours after ordering them, I was thrilled!

As noted by a previous buyer if you have a high arch it is very difficult to get this boot on. Getting it off is even more difficult. I love the look but unfortunately will have to return them, I can't fight this battle every time.

After much deliberation, I finally caved and bought a pair of these gorgeous boots. It is very true the size runs 1/2 size larger for these boots in particular. I am 9 wide in every brand it seems. I have an older pair of Carson pull up western boots in 8 1/2B, which fit like a glove, and have since day one. The Paige riding have no zipper, but pulled on easily as the calf is wider. Of course I have 13" calves, the 8 1/2 have 16" calf width - which doesn't look huge on me fortunately. They did feel snug in the toes for a moment when first trying on, and I contemplated returning - but second attempt they felt roomy and perfect. The leather is soft, does stretch a little. As a comparison, I ordered Veronica shorties in a 9 based on reviews - and truly they fit the same as Paige riding in 8 1/2! Just different shaped toe. The 9's felt looser in the heel, but again, wider foot, so glad I listened to reviewers. I am keeping both, and I know these will last years as my Carson pull-ups have (6+).

Beautiful boots, a bit hard to get on, I have a wide calf but these fit! Only surprise stitching on loops was loose,so when I pulled boot on it came apart, disappointed with that, but I had it stitched locally, did not want to return. The leather is beautiful, soft. Frye always too much, but what a treat!

When I first tried to put these on, I almost cried. For some reason, my left foot would not go in! My right? No problem. I loved the boots so much that I tried a plastic bag, and violà! They are perfect! I am not sure why I had trouble, but even if I have to continue using a bag, it will be worth it. These boots are awesome! Nice substantial leather, gorgeous and different color, make my feet look tiny, and best of all, they actually go up to my knees! I love these boots!

Beautiful quality as expected from Frye but the shaft was too wide for my leg on this particular style. I have two other pairs of Frye boots and do not have that problem with them. Sadly I had to return them.

I ordered a pair of Sam Edelman boots along with these Frye boots to compare. I really didn't want to spend the money for Frye, but when I put them on I was sold. The comfort, quality, and look of these boots are worth it. I am 5' 7" with athletic 15.5" calves and these fit me in a size 8.5. The only strange this is, I ordered them in Cognac shine and cognac antique to compare colors and I couldn't even the antique color my foot! It was so strange b/c they were marked the same size. The cognac shine fit like a glove so I keep them. Time will tell on comfort but wearing them around the house so far they feel great. I think these are a classic boot in a classic color that will last for years.

Jury's still out on these absolutely stunning boots. They are fabulous quality leather, smell amazing, and are very attractive. Even better, they fit my 17" calves!! That's so hard to find in a boot! I am 5'11 and have athletic calves, joy. I didn't have any trouble getting my size 11, wide toe feet inside the boots. My ankles are on the slender side, fyi. The boots feel like they need some breaking in, but the big issue I might have with them is that the leather flap sewn on top of the front of the boots flares a little wider than the boot, and in the 10 minutes I've only had to walk around in them, I became concerned that it would catch on the other leg's boot flap, and cause it to hinder my walk and force those flaps down and out. Such a ridiculous problem!! I don't want to walk bow-legged just to keep it from happening, and I will do more walking in the house with them when I'm back from my vacation next week. I will be incredibly disappointed if that's the reason why I may have to return these. Fingers crossed that it was all in my head!

My beloved Chinese Laundry Robin Hood style leather boots finally died, lost a heel cover and the sole of the other foot cracked. Wahhhhhh! They were great boots. It is so hard to find nice, real leather boots without all of the embellishments, I prefer a clean boot with no zippers, buckles, buttons etc., and had shopped for months for a replacement. Found a pair of Sergio Rossi Patent Leather Flat Boots from DSW Luxury shop on their website. Made in Italy with Italian leather. Excited!?! Yes...I knew I was going to pay a pretty price for any good quality boots, and was ready to bite that bullet. I ordered the Sergio's and waited patiently...when they came, I was ecstatic. Until I opened the box. For a pair of boot at this price, these were awful. Patent leather? More like 1/2mm shiny plastic gift wrap. They didn't fit, and if I had to put some elbow grease into pulling them on, the "leather" on the shaft would have torn. I was sad. DSW has a very good return policy and I was able to return them to a local DSW store in my hometown for a complete refund. Even the store clerk commented on how cheap they looked and felt. I searched for another 4 days for a pair of real leather boots with clean lines and no embellishments. Found the Frye Paige Tall Riding boots for the same price I paid for the Rossi's. These boots are awesome. Nice thick leather that will take some abuse. I think the Rossi's would have torn if I had looked at them sideways. Really, really comfortable the first time I put them on, which, in all truthfulness took some work, but so worth the workout. They don't even need to be broken in. If you have thick ankles, these will not be the boots for you unless you order a size larger than normal. I don't think it's even the ankle, but getting your heel past the ankle part of the boot that is the hard part. Thin socks will help. These boots are beautiful, stylish, and very well made. Unless you are a twig, expect a little work getting them on, but once you do, you will not be sorry.

This is my first pair of Frye boots and I love them. Mostly love the fact that they fit true to size and the calf is nice and roomy. I will definitely be purchasing the black in these as well.

Gorgeous Boot. 3rd pair of Frye's. Other reviews have mentioned The first few wears (10?) can be hard to get your foot/ankle into the shoe part. I ordered 1/2 size down after I got my normal size because I could slip both feet in perfectly, but once in - they were loose. For me, my left ankle had trouble getting in & out. I had to have my family help pull the boots off the first two weeks. It sounds crazy, but now I can get them on/off by myself and if I would have stuck with the larger size my foot would have been swimming. The shaft is definitely wide enough, it's wear the ankle slides into the foot at the corner that is stiff at first. The boots are gorgeous and comfie. I will have for years to come.
