I really wanted to find frye boots that I could actually get my feet and calves into - and these were the ones!! I have a large calf (16 inches at the widest point) and I usually wear a 9.5 . I had to send back the 9.5 and get a 10 - this is the first pair of shoes that I've ever had to size up in. Oh well, glad that I did, because I ended up with some gorgeous boots! That said, the quality is superb - the leather is soft and well made, and the stitching is on point. Beautiful beautiful boots that are made to last!

I love these boots and am so excited to have found them! It's been a long rought road. I am 5'3" where a size 6 in shoes, 5.5 in boots and have (apparently) very large calves (16" or a little bigger). I have been desparately wanting good boots that I can wear for years and re-sole, if necessary. I have espeically been wanting Frye, but my calves are huge problem. Fortunately, Zappos has a large selection of wide calf boots, but unfortunatley they don't all fit my calves! I have ordered 8 pairs of boots from Zappos in the last two days. Only this pair worked. I really need the 5.5, but had to seettle for the 6 b/c I could not get the 5.5 on. Since there is no zipper, getting them on, at least the first time, is challenging. After the first, time, I've had no issue. They look great (and smell great) and are just what I was looking for! Thank you Zappos for your fast shipping, and simple retruns! Such a great place to shop!

These are beautiful, amazing boots. I go between wearing a 6.5 or a 7 and got these in a 7. The first couple times I wore them they gave me a hardcore blister and now realize I should have gone with a 6.5. So if you toggle between sizes, I'd try the smaller option here first.

I own many styles of Fryes and the Paige Tall Riding are my clear favorites. They're one of the few styles I've paid full price for, and no regrets. I own them in the Grey and the Tan Burnished Antique and love both. Note there are some differences in the different leathers: my tan are a thicker leather than the grey, and the tan fit much more easily the first wear, whereas with the grey it was a struggle to get my feet in the first time. Also note that the smaller the size, the shorter the boot overall; I've seen some complain about the boots being too high, but I wear the smallest size/5.5 and although my legs are very short, the boots don't reach my knees. I do wish they made a size 5, but the 5.5 are fine and they're super comfortable. I treat these like any other expensive leather shoe--I don't wear them in weather and I keep them dry. I'm sure they'll last a lifetime if well taken care of.

I ordered these in the hopes that they'd fit my large calves. They're a gorgeous boot but, unfortunately, they did not fit my calves (I'm a size 10 in pants, but with very athletic calves). So I'm sadly returning.

If you have high arches this boot will be a challenge. With a size 10 foot, and moderate arch I ended up buying a long shoe horn, and put on slippery socks, and worked my foot into the boot. After a few days of "work" to put them on, they now go on much easier. A beautiful boot, that fits the calf perfectly, comfortable enough to wear all day.

Leather is great! Nice and tall! Only pair of Frye's I've been able to find that are wide enough in the calf, including those that say they are wide. Even though Frye does not list these as wide calf, they are and fit great!

Just to get the negative out of the way, they are really hard to get off. They don't have a zipper for ease. But, they are beautiful! They smell good, they look good, they are comfortable! I just feel like a fish out of water flapping around trying to get them off!

Beautiful boot - I am 5'5 and the boot is just a bit too tall for me. I so wish I could keep since this would be a timeless boot to have.

LOVE these boots. I have athletic calfs and these boots fit perfectly (including over any kind of skinny jeans or tights), which is rare! I love how they look and get tons of compliments on them! The slate color goes with everything and the style can be dressed up or down. I've worn them almost every day from late fall to early spring for the last three years: to work, to school, in the snow, out dancing - everywhere! They don't come waterproof, but I had them sprayed with stuff to make them water resistant when I first got them, and they've totally held up in water since. Not quite snow or rain boots, but they work for most days. I got a different sole put on when I first got them to add some traction, which I'd highly recommend - it was only $30 or so. The sole they come with has little traction and seems like it would wear out fast. I've replaced the sole twice over the last three years, but everything else about the boot has lasted wonderfully!! I'm hoping to keep them for many more years!

This my second pair of Frye boots in almost 30 years. My others were resoled, dyed and passed on if you can believe it. I can only hope this pair will be as good. I'm tall and they are true knee boots. I have a healthy calf about 15-15 1/2 inch and I have more than enough room to put my jeans in my boots. I have a high arch but no trouble pulling these on. The best is lower than my other boots so that will be an adjustment but I know that before I purchased them. The color was as depicted. I will update on how they hold up, I wear them year round so it do,t be hard to tell.

Fabulous boots. While I did struggle to get them on and off due to high arches, they broke in beautifully and have maintained their gorgeous color.

After much debating, research, reading a lot of reviews and measuring, I decided on these gorgeous Paige boots from Frye. My fiancé liked the Cognac Antiqued Pull-up color best, so he bought them for me for Christmas. This review is going to be lengthy, so please bear with me! Firstly, the color is slightly darker in person than on the website, but that did not bother me. The color is beyond gorgeous! They smelled absolutely delicious. I have never owed knee-high boots and I have struggled to find knee-high boots to fit over my large calves. I am 5'4"; 165 pounds; wear a 10/12 jean and measured my calves at 15¾". None seemed to work! Cheap or expensive, even with calf measurements provided, they still did not work. I have sent two pairs back because of this. After reading that the real leather in Frye boots stretch as you wear them, I decided to give these a go. Let me tell you - these boots are tough to get on! I read other reviews that say sit down when you first put your foot in them, then stand to finish getting them on. They especially hard to get your heels in. I tugged and yanked for a good 10 minutes on each boot the first time. I worried that the boot was too small. I wear a 6½ in sneakers, 6 in flip-flops and a 7 in heels/boots. But other reviewers said to break them in. I wore them for a couple of hours each day and let me tell you, they got easier to put on each time. I worried I would have to get the shaft stretched (it created a lot of bunching around the ankle) but even that part stretched slightly, and the bunching is lessening. In conclusion, wear these boots! The leather will stretch! Yes, they are expensive, but the boots speak for themselves. They are worth the money.
