This was a great purchase. I've wanted a pair of good, sturdy wellies for a while now. This brand has been around for 150 years, and they are in a different category entirely than the cheap kinds I've wasted money on before. The Huntress is great for my athletic legs--plenty of room for me to tuck in jeans and slide on with no tugging. I'm a size 7 with wide feet, and the 38 fits great. Although the boots look classic and sleek, and I know they're trendy right now, I bought these more for function than fashion; I'll wear these tromping around the garden on a wet day, walking on the beach in winter, camping, etc. The non-glossy black finish will wear well, I think (better than the patent finish would have). Altogether a great purchase. These were an investment but should last for years.

First of all let me start by saying I love Zappos. I ordered the Hunter Green Huntress boots yesterday at 1:20pm and got them today at 11:30am. And I chose standard free shipping. I have always had the best service with Zappos. I loved these boots so much in the black, I had to have the green. And I am so glad I got them, as we are getting a lot of rain this year in Los Angeles. I have athletic calves, so the regular women Hunters did not work for me - way too tight. The Huntress has room to wear leggings or skinny jeans. Another trick is to get the Men's Hunters, because their circumference is 16", and the Huntress is 16 1/2". The men's just come up two inches higher, I think. I could definitely fit in the men's, but I chose the Huntress because the men's come up just a little too high for my liking. I have seen people complain about the flowering that happens, the white residue. All you have to do is use Armor All, and they are like brand new. It works like a charm!

I have been fawning over Hunter boots for years and finally bought a pair last fall. I absolutely love them. I first tried the Hunter Original, size 8 in Green at Neiman Marcus and thought - like many others - they would be a bit snug with heavy socks and jeans tucked into them. Unfortunately, most walk-in stores don't carry many styles outside of the Originals and Shorts, so I of course turned to Zappos! We all know they're the best! I ordered the Green Hunter Huntress, size 8, and they fit great - with some room at the top. I'm not going to make any excuses for myself - I was a dancer, I'm a size 4, but I don't know if that automatically accounts for the over-average size of my calves, they just are...a pain in the rear to fit into many boots - at least with that desired slouch and extra room. Anyhow, I agree with others who mentioned that the ankle area is kind of wide - it's almost as if having "extended" calves means you also have cankles and your "wide" calves extend all the way down to your heels. Overall, though, these are great boots if you feel the Originals are too snug for you. They have done good by me throughout the winter (with the super-warm Hunter cableknit Wellie Socks) and I'm looking forward to splashing around in some Spring puddles.

Ankle was very baggy and size 9 was too big for me though I wear a 9 street shoe. Am exchanging for an 8 but am concerned it might be too tight. Wish they came in half sizes!

Love these! I have athletic calves (15 inches) and these are a great fit - look cute with tights or leggings and also work with skinny jeans tucked in. I got the navy, and also got the Hunter navy cable fleece socks to wear with them for colder days. Thrilled!

I am so happy I finally got my hands on a pair of these boots, especially judging by the winter weather we've just had. So far, the Huntress has been perfect in the snow, rain and ice. I especially appreciate the great traction it has on the bottom of the boots, which my Uggs simply cannot stand up to. Although not as tall as the Hunter boots, the Huntress is wider in the calf, so any athletes or customers with "big" calves might want to look into the Huntress before they check out the Original Hunter wellie. If you're buying the Huntress with the socks, keep in mind that the socks may be a bit tall/long for your taste, because they are actually made for the original Hunter. It doesn't really matter though, and the two can still be worn together. If you are going to buy the socks, you might need to buy a size bigger. I really recommend the socks, especially if you are going to wear the boots in the winter. Also, I have wide feet, so the width may be a bit big for customers with more narrow feet, although I find it perfect. The Huntress is a great boot to have for all the wet weather out there, and although a bit expensive, I have absolutely no regret in buying them!

I had been told by young adults that this was the new hip boot. I bought it for my daughter who is turning 21 and then found out she wanted them! And I didn't pay shipping or taxes. Zappos rocks!

I love my Hunter boots. They are real comfortable and roomy in the calf area. After buying and returning a few rainboots because of the tightness around the calf area, I was very happy to finally have a pair of boots that fit me perfect.

I've tried a few boots that Hunter has in the US (Short boot, Brixen and Huntress) and I am still looking. The Huntress are far the best thus far but I need the calf to be about 2 inches wider in order for me to be comfortable. I wear a US9/UK7 and have an 18 inch calf. Also, they were in full bloom upon arrival. I understand the blooming effect but I think that needs to happen overtime and don't want that from day 1. Zappos has been great with returns and I thank them for that. I'm hoping that Zappos gets the adjustable originals in stock soon. Currently they aren't sold in the US.

Now that I have the perfect gear. It's been sunny, sunny, sunny in Los Angeles! Not complaining but I really can't wait to wear these. I originally purchased the original Hunters, I so wish they fit my calves. My calves are pretty muscular so I have a hard time finding boots. These are perfect for my healthy calves. These are also very comfortable. I got them in navy and I'm really glad I did. The color is beautiful. Love, love, love these! Oh and they do run a bit large. I usually wear 7 1/2-8 in boots and the 7 works perfect.

These boots are perfect for girls who don't have skinny calves. They aren't too floppy and they don't feel like fireman boots the way some rain boots do. Zappos is great--I received my boots in under a week!

These boots are great. I was worried after reading other reviews that they would either be too tight on my calves or too loose on my ankles (athletic calves), but I have had no problems with fit. I ordered 1/2 size down as suggested and wear the boots with the Hunter socks. I have room to wear the Hunter socks and tuck dress pants into the boots on my way to work. I haven't tried skinny jeans yet but I'm sure they will be fine. Great purchase!

I am glad I was told to order a size small (and I had tried them on at a store before I purchased) because even a size smaller they are a little big.

I love Zappos! Why? Why not! Free overnight shipping and great customer service. These are awesome, great for wide widths. The only thing I don't like is the natural color it takes, which is grayish. Wish it didn't do that.

My daughter (20) loves these boots. They are comfortable and keep her feet warm and dry. You do need some kind of liner sock though, especially in cold weather.

These boots are so comfortable! Great fit for atheletic calves, but wish they were a little more narrow in the ankle area. I just have little ankles and big calves though, so it's usually something I have to live with in a boot. Will be wearing these often!

I have been delaying getting these for years. Now that I have them, I don't know why. They have made walking around NYC fun again. And I walk to and from Brooklyn every week which are 5 mile stretches and these are super comfy. Get them--you won't regret it. Also I ordered them at 2pm and they arrived the next day (love you Zappos--this is why I've been your customer for almost 10 years now).

I love this boot! I had a problem getting my calves to fit into the Regent (without pants) and then fitting my calves with jeans into The Original so these were perfect for me (with regular socks, Welly socks, and jeans)! The only thing I'm sad about is that it's not available in more colors like The Original. I really liked the Aubergine color but I had to settle for these in navy, not the same! Hunter needs to have more choices for us larger calved women or make these boots in realistic calf widths! Haha! I would recommend getting these if you have to walk in the rain or snow, which I do, to get to and from work. I'm glad I got these and might even considered getting the Aubergines after all.

Love these and so worth the money. I'm usually a 6.5-7 and the 5 fit nicely with room to spare. I'm petite but with athletic calves and these were actually a little too spacious for me, but still okay and the height is perfect - an inch or so below the knee. Got the navy. I like the color although it looks a bit lighter than it does in the picture. All I can say is these have been a lifesaver this winter with all the snow we've been getting in NYC!

Love the style! I have wanted a pair of these boots for some time just could justify the cost. Sorry I waited, these boots are perfect for all seasons. I went with the Huntress so I could tuck pants in. The wider top works well for this. Nice and snug with thicker socks.

Love these! They come up nearly to the knee, (I'm 5'8) which helps keep water/snow from pouring into the boots, a problem I've had with other wellies. I am a true size 9, and they are a little roomy, but perfect with thick winter socks. As others have mentioned, the calf is wide enough for my generous muscles. The green is super-cute in an industrial kind of way. The only negative is the ankles are kind of wide, but not enough to be irritating.

I tried the regular Hunter boots and found them too tight on my calf. The Huntress style fits great and looks more stylish on me.

I originally ordered the Hunter Originals but they just didn't feel right. The foot felt a little big and it was also tight in my calf. So I called back Zappos and with their help I decided to order the Huntress boot instead and it was a great choice! I went a size down since there was more room in the calf and they fit great! I like that I have more room in the calf area so I can wear my pants inside the boot the other plus is that they are a little shorter so they hit right at my knee. Also I really wanted welly socks and I had ordered them with the Hunter Original tried them with the Huntress boot and it didn't work out but no biggie! I love the boots! So excited to wear them out and about in the snow!

Another great buy from Zappos! I wear a 7 and ordered a 7 - they fit great. Enough room for a thick sock. The Huntress leaves enough room to tuck pants in nicely.

Love! Totally waterproof, keep my feet warm and dry. Great for my bigger calves, I can fit pants inside. Not too stylish, more practical.
