Love this rain boot! I have an athletic 16 inch calf, and this boot fits perfectly! I typically wear a 7.5, and the 7 was a tad too small, but the 8 fits well. I am glad I waited for the Huntress and did not keep the mid-calf Hunter boots I originally bought last year.

Love these boots! I first ordered the Hunter Original boots, but they were too tight in the calf, and were too tall. These are a little shorter, and fit perfectly. There's enough room to tuck in pants, which is a definite must. I also got the Wellie socks which were too tight in the original boots also, but are just right with these. For anyone looking for a cute rain/snow boot that fits a bigger calf, these are great!

I received these just in time for a trip to the airport in pouring rain/slush/sleet. Minutes after opening the box I was running through a field for a bus, and they held up beautifully - comfortable and cozy! They aren't quite as sharp looking as the traditional Hunter boots (the color is duller, and they are less sleek looking) but these fit my calves perfectly, and still look cute with skinny jeans. I couldn't be happier with the boots or the Zappos experience!

After unsuccessfully trying to dodge puddles in my good, leather boots while walking to work during a downpour I figured that it was time to invest in a pair of wellies. The Huntress ended up being the perfect pair! I had thought that I wanted the tallness of the originals, but knew from the other reviews that they would never fit my thick calves. The shorter height of the Huntress is actually ideal for my 5'2" frame (they hit below the knee at the same point as my other knee-high boots). I was a little concerned that they would only just fit around my 16-inch calves and that wearing them over skinny jeans might become a struggle, but they fit fine, and I can even wear the wellie socks at the same time too. I usually wear a size 6 in shoes/boots, and I ordered the Huntress in a 6 as well. Since I wear them with a pair of thick socks and then the wellie socks, the extra room is filled up while still leaving enough wiggle room for my toes. Comfy! The only drawback I've found is that the ankle portion is a bit thick/wide. I have big calves but small ankles, so the boot profile makes me look a bit cankle-y. Not horribly bad, but something to take into consideration. I ordered the black version and I like the matte appearance. The Huntress is stylish and practical. I'm looking forward to a rainy season of traipsing through puddles and not trying to dodge them.

These boots are a bit bigger in the calf than the Original Hunter boots. They run a bit bigger than normal. I am usually an 8.5/9 and I bought a size 8.

I have a pair of the Original Hunters, which are a squeeze too tight and awkwardly too tall for me (I'm 5'1"). Not sure of my calf dimensions, but, in general, they are too wide for normal width boots and too small for wide calf boots. These will fit all you in-between gals perfectly! I'm able to get socks and skinny jeans, or leggings in there and they look better because they're shorter than the Originals. I ordered true to size in the Originals, but probably should've ordered up in the Huntress. They don't fit weird, but I can feel a difference between the two designs, so FYI if you're using your Originals as a point of reference like I did. My only complaints are the small color selection and the ankle fits a bit funny, but nothing too weird.

Great boots. Comfortable to walk in and wear all day. Lots of room in the calf to tuck in pants and jeans. Even great if you have larger calf muscles!

These are wonderful boots! They fit perfectly, especially if you have slightly larger calves and want to tuck your jeans into them. A must have for rainy and snowy days!

Having just gotten a new puppy the week ordered, compounded by rain every day that week, I've worn these boots about a thousand times now. They're super-easy to slip on. They fit perfectly. I have fat calves. I also run. These hit at a different place than most boots accommodate, so I always have problems with boots, and these fit perfectly there, too.

I am 5' 3" with moderately large calves and these fit perfectly with a snuggish fit. I could tuck my jeans in and they don't flop around like most regular rainboots do. I wish the soles were a little thicker, but oh well.

A great option for ladies with more "athletic" calves. Mine are around 16" and these boots give plenty of extra room to tuck in pants. They're also very comfortable and keep my feet (and the bottom hem of my pants) very dry on those rainy days!

I ordered this boot hoping that it would fit around my calves. Unfortunately, they did not. However, they are great boots and I wish I could have kept them. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a stylish rainboot or gardening boot.

These boots bring sunshine to a rainy day. They are perfect in both form and function, and are the ideal complement to any outfit. I originally tried the Hunter Originals, but they were too tall for my 5'4" legs, actually chafing my knees when bending my legs stepping up and down stairs. The Huntress being a couple inches shorter proved to be the perfect remedy. They are very generous in width (in the calf area). I am a size 8 and bought these in a size 8. They are almost too big for an 8, but I decided I would rather have them be on the big side than the converse with a 7. I have had no problems with these. I highly recommend.

I just wanted to add a little to the review I submitted on Oct 10: First, I agree with Estephanie from NYC that the boots are big around the ankles but it's not uncomfortable and the fact that they're so roomy on the calves more than makes up for it. Second, I ordered the Huntress after trying the Original tall boots (which of course were too tight). Having tried both styles, this style is definitely true to size, so order your normal size. If you try the Original style, order a size smaller.

It's been raining a lot in New York lately and if you live in New York you know that almost everyone in this city wears Hunter rain boots. I have very muscular calves so I stay away from high boots. When I saw Hunter had boots to fit bigger calves I almost cried tears of joy! When they came, I wore them in the house and hated the fact that the ankles were so spacious. I have small ankles. I tried them on with slim straight and boot cut jeans and realized the jeans help "fill up" some of that empty space. I still wish they were slimmer at the ankles but it's the price you pay. They're great in the rain, totally worth every penny. They are so comfortable, I've walked miles in them. I usually wear a 9 and bought them in an 8 and they fit so snug, almost like a sock. Do buy smaller. I hope Hunter extends the line and comes out with the glossy finish and more colors.

These are really nice! Mine have "bloomed" or gotten the white powdery stuff on them, but it's not bad and doesn't make me like them any less. Very comfy, I am 5'2" and they come just below my knee. I have wider calves and they fit around my calves perfectly with a little room to tuck skinny jeans or leggings in. I ordered a size smaller than I normally wear, and they fit just right.

They really fit my giant calves! I jog and do the step machine, so I have pretty big calves and it's always a huge problem to find boots that fit. I can actually slide this right on! They're not tight on my legs and they don't leave marks, they're perfect. So worth the investment.

i love these boots. The regular Hunter is too tall for me (I'm 5' 2") but these are perfect - hit just below the knee. I wish is wasn't wider around but you can't have everything I guess. The boots didn't have the clouding problem I've seen in some stores either.

Great for a larger calf! Like other buyers, I was drawn to the fun colors of the Hunters, but I took one look at the specifications and realized my 16" calves would not fit in them! So I bought the Huntress in black. I have a high instep, and typically wear a size 9W. I ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly, with a little extra room for thick socks. A little expensive, but I'm expecting these boots to last a lifetime. I couldn't wait to wear them so I slipped them on with my bathrobe to get the newspaper in the rain the other day. I'm actually wishing for rain again so I can wear them to work and stop ruining my work shoes. I'm very satisfied!

As others have stated, the label does say "Huntress." Also note the shorter height, probably better for petite sizes.

Reading Zappos’ review section was very helpful in selecting size and style. I really wanted the Hunters in so many colors, but after reading how tall they fit on the height challenged and those with a larger calf, I opted for the "Huntress" in Navy. Normally wear a 7.5 and in some brands an 8. Have a wide foot with a very high arch and a bit larger calf. Ordered the 7 and were fine in length, seemed a little wide in foot with a pair of knee highs on, but tested them for slipping by running up stairs without any problems. Great with a heavy sock, perfect height and calf width, plenty of room to tuck in jeans. I agree with another reviewer: my legs even looked thinner. Zappos notified me when my size was available and shipped in record time. I was surprised to see the boots arrived with some marks and dull spots on them, but this is the maker and not Zappos. Love the boots, just wish they came in all the same colors as the Hunters.

I didn't pay attention to the reviews and originally ordered the Hunter original which was close to painful on my calves when I tried to wear over jeans. The Huntress (ordered one size down) fits perfectly over my jeans and are super cute with my red Wellie socks. They're very comfortable for sloshing around snowy, wet, and city streets for hours.

I have wanted a pair of Hunter boots for awhile and was so pleased to find that the Huntress is made in 16.5" calf sizes (my calves are 15" and the originals would not let me tuck pants in). I bought the green in size 38. I wear a 7 and did buy the 37 initially as recommended, but because of my high instep and wider than average foot, the 38 just felt better. Need thick socks though. It does appear there are two versions of the Huntress however. In the 37, the logo on the front said Huntress, but also had the Hunter crest. In the 38, it just said Huntress in bigger letters on the outside and on the inside gave the specifics of the brand. Maybe the 38 had the old branding? Also, the difference between these two sizes seemed greater than expected and I wondered about quality control.

Incredibly fast shipping of a great boot - These boots are great but even better was the incredibly fast shipping. I do a lot of online shopping so, not sure why this is the first time I ever ordered from Zappos.com, but am sure that it won't be my last. Placed my order on Wed afternoon and the boots arrived on Thurs afternoon? For free? Very pleased. Oh, and the boots are just what I was hoping for. Wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7 and they work. Thanks.

Huntress Boots: A Life Saver - Finally! Wellies that are comfy, durable, AND large enough to fit over my chunky 16" calves. My roommate suggested I purchase these after I complained how Hunter boots were too tight. I initially thought the price was a bit steep but after seeing the quality of these boots, the price is well worth it. I usually wear size 7 or 7.5 (Euro 38) and purchased these in a size 6 (Euro 37) as recommended by other users. They fit perfectly. Now, if only I could find a pair of leather boots that fit just as well.
