Very disappointed! Right out of the box, covered in white scuff marks. Not thrilled to buy special polish before I can even wear them. In addition, they are a bit short; original Hunters were too tight on my calves; these fit my leg but fell well below my knee; not the look I want. (I am 5'9" with 16 inch calves.)

I love these boots! They are a little baggy around the ankles but I didn't really buy them for the fashion aspect. They are rain boots and this spring I have definitely need them. =)

I purchased these as I have wide feet and large calves. However, they looked huge on me. Granted I'm short (5ft) and wear a size 6. I feel that these were made for the taller than 5 feet population.

I was so excited to get these boots; alas, like other reviewers, I felt that the ankle was too wide/baggy. A lot of my co-workers wear Hunters and they look much better on them (no baggy ankles). Also I ordered a size 8 (typically wear a size 8 1/2) and my foot/heel was slipping up (and almost out) with each step I took.

I have larger calves and usually wear size 7.5 to 8 shoes. I ordered the EURO38/US5 Huntress in green based on previous reviews and find the fit is perfect for my feet, but the circumference at top of the boots to be only 15.5inches, so they fit quite snug on my legs, can't tuck pants in or insert the Hunters socks in. I'm going to exchange for next size up to see if the width is any better.

I couldn't get them to look clean and shiny -- even right out of the box. (This was true with both pairs I ordered.) I rubbed some marks off. I also tried a cloth with water as the manufacturer suggests, but it didn't work very well.

The boot must be just a style thing; very overpriced as far as I am concerned no insulation cold feet in snow but feet were dry, good rain boo so I will keep them. Zappos did a stellar job with purchase!

I absolutely love these boots. All of my friends were getting them (who weigh about 115lbs) so I figured I would get a pair as well! I went for the Huntress because the reviews assured me that if you were a bigger girl, or even average size, they would fit perfectly. False. I am not a large woman. I weigh about 190, 5'7 in height. I went to put these boots on, and they couldn't even make it up over my calves. The problem is with the Huntress, they stop mid calf. Which for most people is the biggest part. I would really love to have kept these boots, but with them not fitting, it was definitely not worth the price I paid for them. Very disappointed.

The style is cute, and I'd read reviews about the Hunter Original being too tight in the calves. My calves are about 14 inches around, so I got a pair of the Huntress because I was worried the Original would be too tight in the calves. I really like how easy it was to put the Huntress boots on and take them off, and I liked the style of the boot. I usually wear a 9, and I ordered a 9. I'm glad I did because my toe was close to the front of the boot. However, the heel area was just way too big. My heels kept slipping as I walked around in the boots. I think a previous review described it as "sloshing", and that's what my heels were doing. There was no way thick socks would make up the difference in heel space. So, I had to return these. I ended up ordering the Original Tour in size 9, and the fit is great! I'm very happy with my decision to go with the Hunter Tour boots instead.

I really wanted a pair of hunter boots but with my athletic calves they had to get sent back. The description says that the size 6 has a 16.5" circumference, you would think that a size 8 would be a little bigger and could adjust bigger... I guess not! Not only was the calf too small but the ankle made me look like I had some Crazy Kankles going on! Oh well still looking for the right boot for me!

I guess I'm just one of those girls who can only wear the short Hunter boots. :( These had plenty (too much) room around the ankle, but were snug on my calves. They were snug on my bare calf, no extra room, so there would be no way I could wear them with skinnies, or even leggings. They're going back. Also, the navy could pass for black.

So disappointed. Finally got to wear these after a year of drought. First time I put them on, realized the plastic buckle was broken. They were brand new just out of the box. Wore them broken since they were my only rain shoes but not happy.

We have ordered two pairs of these boots in black - one shiny and these standard finish. Both pairs arrived extremely discolored and blotchy and both are being returned. I am REALLY disappointed in Hunter AND Zappos for sending me poor qualify merchandise - twice. I'm done with Hunter boots.

I received the "Navy" huntress boots. The first issue was that the boots were not properly packaged by Zappos, meaning in my mind they were a returned item. They were not in a Hunters box, there was no filling in the shoes, etc. The second MAJOR issue is I ordered Navy, but these boots looked like they had sat in the sun for years, they were light blue, with absolutely no sheen to them. I was absolutely horrified. I did try them on to ensure that they at least fit before trying yet again to order them and get actual navy boots as shown on the website. They do fit true to size, I usually wear a 7.5 so as other reviewers have said, I ordered a 1/2 size down (they only are offered in full sizes), so I received the 7 and was happy. I also have a larger calf and the originals were too tight, these fit great in the calf. In addition, being only 5"1' they are not too tall nor too short, they are just right!

I would never purchase these boots again. I am so disappointed. I have only had the boots since January and only worn them 20 times or so. They leak badly, one of the buckles broke, and top that off with Hunter will not replace them! They leak badly and they are rain boots, completely a manufacturer problem. I wouldn't waste your money on these.

I absolutely hate these boots, and I'm so upset I wore them outside before I realized it. Talk about a massive waste of money. I was hoping they'd be a good fit for me based on other reviews - I'm 5'0" and have toned but muscular calves that sometimes need a little extra calf room. There's plenty of room in the calf...almost too much. Even when worn over skinny jeans, the boots make an awkward "sucking" sound when I walk, of the rubber slapping against my shins & calves. You can hear me from a mile away. I'm so disappointed. I am normally a 7.5 and bought them in a 6 and an 7. The 6 fit perfectly with a thin sock, but I was worried about the room in the toe box so sized up and kept the 8. I wish I could return these but instead I guess I'll be dropping them off at the consignment store and trying something else. Ugh.

I tried the Hunter Original boot, but the calves were too tight. So I thought that the "Huntress" style would be the answer. The calf was wide enough and could even accommodate leggings or skinny jeans. But the ankle was huge. When I walked, the ankle and the extra rubber would bend toward the front. It looked odd, especially against the foot of the boot which in size 7 looked small in comparison. Also, the foot was tight -- I ordered a 7 and I am usually a 7.5 or 8.

Both buckles on both boots fell off for some unexplainable reason. I could not tighten them now if I tried!

I thought the Huntress would be the best choice for my wide calves but these boots fit terribly. While they fit my calves, there was an enormous gap at the ankle area. This made the boots rub up against my heels and cause friction. The shorter height of the boot was not flattering. The overall fit and look were just poor. I exchanged these for the Hunter adjustable boots and the adjustable ones are perfect.

I am a farmer and have long wanted a high quality rubber boot for year round farm chores. An excellent farm boot is what I hoped for. This is why I ordered Hunter boots, my belief being there was no better quality rubber work boot. I was sorely disappointed upon taking them from the box. While the boot is made alright, the rubber material the whole boot is made from is so flimsy and thin that the boots would not last two weeks worn by an actual farmer or worn by anyone who needs a serious rubber boot. Has the Hunter brand become a name for people who wish to look like they need a work boot but do not? My mom has a pair of Hunter rubber boots, at least 20+ years old, that are quality. How very disappointing these boots are -- the name and price indicates quality -- the product indicates the passing of a great brand, and that another outerwear company no longer has any idea what real farmers or outdoor workers need. It is sad to see another great old company become so completely out of touch with reality.
I'd also recommend:

I have had these boots for a couple of years now, and I still hate them. The foot is much narrower than in the hunter original which when combined with the wider shaft of the boot winds up with silly cartoon tiny looking feet. I had the originals but could only fit leggings or skinny jeans in comfortably and welly socks were out of the question. These are slightly better, but my welly socks bunched up in the foot so I don't wear them anymore. In addition this is the second pair I have owned that when I get home I have wet toes, however at this point in time nothing can be done. I wish Hunter would just make a pair that look like the originals, but with a wider shaft. Oh I forgot to mention that although I am only 5'4" these only come to about 3" below my knee which is really awkward.

I ordered these after hearing they had extra calf room. Being someone with "large athletic calves" I figured they would be perfect. Well, they were not. They fit around my calf which was nice but the "extra room" is all in the bottom. Would be perfect for my 8 mos pregnant friend who has a bad case of cankles. Sending them back and trying the Original.

I have been patiently looking for a pair of wellies and was excited to see the larger calf option here. Super excited, I had them expedited for a rainy weekend and they are AWFUL. The calf is wide enough, but the ankle is enormous. Didn't even bother testing them in the weather. :(
Look at these boots from the side view before ordering because the back juts out nearly an inch and a half. When I stand in them they bunch up and feel terrible. Also, I usually wear a 10 and when I read they run big, I ordered a 10 hoping for extra room for big winter socks. They are way too large. Definitely don't hesitate to round down.

Yep, returning these today. Ankles are so baggy, they look ridiculous, shaft of boots just barely fit and no pants of any sort can be worn with the boot. So sad.
