These boots are great! Since they are not cheap I thought long and hard about spending the money. I will tell you they are well worth it! They are very comfortable and the heel is just right. Not too tall not too short. They do fit snug around the calves, so you would probably only wear tights or skinny jeans with them. If you have larger calves, they might be too snug. Otherwise overall a wonderful good looking boot and would definitely recommend them!

Finally! I tried lots of boots (some were more expensive than these), but none compared to the comfort, quality and classy style that these boots offer. The shaft hugs tightly without any gapping, which for me, is an important factor. The heel size is just right. And the best, is that they are water resistant.

Definitely a keeper! Based upon all the other reviews, I decided to hit the buy button and I am glad I did. I usually wear a 5.5-6 and the 5.5 fits nicely w/wiggle room to spare even with a lightweight footie on. Platform is so well balanced, I do not feel as though I am in heels which is nice on the back and posture. Boots are well constructed for the price point, suede is nice and soft. Boots are not overly heavy or clunky in weight. I am a petite 5ft. and the circunference fits perfectly and anatomically correct up the shin which makes for an elegant and shapely silhouette. Overall, the boot deserves a 5 star. For style, I only rated it a 4 since it is so simple (yet elegant) and there are other boots out there with more decorative detailing. However, If you seek a well made boot that is ever so comfortable and versatile, then look no further!

These are the Ultimate Black Winter Dress Boots. I cannot add one thing to the excellent reviews by the customer from Seattle. Her review is so helpful, so absolutely descriptive of all the pros and cons of winter boots, that I will not add anything. Please read her review. I wonder why I sometimes purchase and try brands other than La Canadienne for winter wear. Yes, they are an investment, but they are absolutely worth it. La Canadienne always is well made, comfortable, warm (without the "Michelin look"), classic, and extremely durable. There is no better brand for winter boots than La Canadienne. Kara is the best of the entire line (and I have several that I wear and wear and wear!).

My second pair of La Canadienne boots and I am very pleased with them. They are very comfortable and smart. Worth the money!

Great quality and comfortable. My calves are 12 inches and they fit comfortably over skinny jeans and would also look good with skirts and dresses. I love them.

These boots are super comfortable, stylish, very well made. Perfect boots! I'm in love with them, but unfortunately, they have to go back. I have a 16" calf and these are not wide enough for me. I ordered my size 7.5 and also 8 hoping that they would fit, but they didn't work. Zappos has the best customer service!

Love this boot. Note that it runs slightly narrow, and is slim in the calf, perfect for my thin legs. Heel is a comfortable heigh. I have worn with jeans tucked in, and with skirts/dresses to work. A classic boot with style! My first purchase of this brand.

I've been looking for the perfect black knee-high boot for a couple of years now, and this is it! It's stylish, looks great with dresses and with jeans, and the actual footbed is very comfortable. The heel is a good height - not too high so as to make walking uncomfortable, but high enough so that it gives you an extra lift that looks classy with dresses. I love that it's waterproof - haven't tested that yet, but I'm sure I will soon! One thing I will say - at first, I worried that it would be too tight around my calf. I tried a trick a saleslady taught me - push the boot down so the top part is just below the larger part of your calf, zip it up there, and then pull the boot up. That's how I got it on the first time. The second time, I didn't have to do that - I could zip it straight up. The third time, I could zip it up over skinny jeans, so this material really does stretch! I could still wear it with a dress though over tights, and it is still form fitting and not baggy at the ankles. It's like miracle suede. I can't recommend this highly enough!

These boots really are perfect. This is my first pair of La Canadienne boots. I was initially hesitant about the price, but the reviews were so overwhelmingly positive that I decided to try them anyways (so glad that I did). The style is simple, but elegant, and professionally appropriate for me (biomedical engineer). The construction is excellent. The espresso suede is an unusual, dark brown that I have been seeking for years. The fit is perfect. I have never owned a pair of leather boots that felt as though they were made just for me like these do. The size 5 fits my short legs (I'm 5' tall), tiny ankles, and curvy calves perfectly right out of the box. On top of this, they claim to be weatherproof, which is the ultimate icing on the cake for Northeast winters.

I love La Canadienne for its waterproof suede - sadly the calves on these boots were huge do they are going back.

These are stylish and comfortable. I did order up a half size because the calf was too narrow in the 7. I was just able to zip up the 7.5. I don't have huge calves, but they're not skinny, either. The 7 actually fit my foot fine--I put an insole in the 7.5's to make them fit better.

These are the 3rd pair of La Canadienne shoes I've bought, so obviously I'm a fan. That said, I was still amazed how comfortable they were. Of course they look great. They are definitely dressy enough for night-time, and don't look like hooker boots (sorry, but I've seen a lot of those lately).

These are beautiful boots and very comfortable! They are waterproof suede and wipe off with a damp cloth. Really terrific.

I love these boots. So comfortable and great looking in beautiful black suede! I have really skinny calves (12"), so I was reluctant to buy boots online, but they actually fit, when worn outside my jeans. They are warm and waterproof. I would definitely recommend these boots! Worth the price! If you are in need of great looking waterproof boots that are comfortable, and warm, La Canadienne is the way to go!

These were very comfortable with a perfect heel. I am sending them back, though because they don’t rise quite high enough on my calf. They will likely look fantastic if your calves are a little shorter.

I bought these boots in a size 7, which is my typical size, and they fit well. They're attractive and warm and work well on snowy winter days. I wish they were an inch or so taller, as they land several inches below the knee. The look is fine, but a bit traditional. With the height of the heels, I still find the boots to be very comfortable. If I had paid full price, I might have considered returning them just to get a boot that hit closer to the knee.
