Love my Kara's - This is an amazing boot. Comfort, durability, look...the only complaint that I had was when it came from Zappos it looked like it had been slightly, previously used. The bottom of the boot had markings of walking and there were slight rub marks on the inner heal and toe. I did not send them back, due to the fact this was the only pair they had in my size.

This is my third pair of La Canadienne boots and I can't recommend this brand enough. True to size. Stylish and comfortable.

Sexy yet comfy - I just got these in the charcoal gray color, which was gorgeous and very on trend right now. However, I ended up exchanging them for black thinking that they would go with more of what I already own. Because of the platform, the heel does not feel as high as it looks, and the insole is cushioned. If I could afford it I would buy them in all the colors offered.

These are very pretty boots, but they are too baggy in the calf area. I do not have tiny calves!

Loved the way these boots looked and felt, but they were far too big for my skinny calves. Sadly, I had to return them.

I shop with Zappos and really appreciate what they offer but these boots didn't hold up with what they are worth! I only wore them three times and tripped on something and the bottom of the heel came off. The suede shows all imperfections.

After much trial and error of multiple shoes (thanks Zappos for the rather generous return policy), I purchased these boot in January of 2012. Although I live in California, I work in Colorado and needed shoes that would be stylish, warm, water resistant, and of just the right height to give me look of sophistication while allowing me to run in the airport. After trying at least seven pairs, I decided on this one. I anguished over the high price tag but decided in the end, you get what you pay for and these boots should last many years. So, you can imagine my shock and intense disappointment (and no small amount of anger), when the the tip of the tip of the heel fell off in December of 2012 after wearing these boots less than 30 times. It is bad enough that the heel fell off, but that it did this while I was on a European vacation where I had brought only one winter-worthy pair of shoes with me, was just inexcusable. This is the most expensive single item of clothing/shoes that I have ever purchased and so I feel cheated at the shoddy workmanship of that heel. So final score: warmth and sophistication = 10; longevity = 0. I will continue to be a loyal Zappos shopper but will never buy another La Canadienne shoe - EVER! Once bitten, twice shy.

This boot is amazing! There is enough give around the fitted calf that it is not uncomfortable. When walking in it it does not rub the heel and Achilles tendon like I was concerned about with how "fitted" the boot looks. The material is perfect to repel the snow...consider it a stylish snow boot.

I loved everything about these boots -the quality of workmanship, heel height, quality of materials- everything EXCEPT the height of the shaft. I have short legs and I was shocked at how short the boots were. They are NOT knee height; and thus just looked weird on. That's why I rated them low on style. Sure hope the manufacturer addresses this issue because they are really nice quality and lovely boots otherwise.

Beautiful and super comfortable

I loved the boots. Great and wonderful feel. Easy to walk in as well. They were returned though because for some reason cat hair was all on the inside of the boot causing me to have an allergic reaction and asthma attack. I have no idea how this is possible and they looked unworn. I am disappointed with the handling of the product and would have loved to keep it.

Gorgeous boots. Can be dressed up or down. Well-constructed. A little stiff in the ankles.

I love these boots! I literally spent years looking for my first pair of black dress boots, and I wore them for years. Unfortunately, those boots are starting to fall apart beyond what a cobbler can repair. So, I’ve ordered every pair of black dress boots I can find in search of a pair that fits. I’m 5’2” and very slim. Most boots hit at my kneecap or higher and/or stick out on the side. These boots, however, fit snugly to my legs and are just the right height. As a bonus, they are really warm and comfortable with a non-slip sole and waterproof suede! They are worth every penny that they cost, and I see myself getting a lot of wear out of them in the future. My one complaint is that they are not as stylish/dressy as my old pair, which had a pointed toe and skinnier heel. But, the rounded toe is much more comfortable, so the trade off is worth it.

Finally! A dress boot that isn’t too tall for my short legs or too wide for my calves! I have looked for the last couple years for a new pair of black dress boots, but they all hit at my kneecap or stick way out from my calves. These are definitely not the prettiest boots ever, but they are waterproof, comfortable and fit great. They are slim and look great with a dress. Definitely keeping these!

Beautiful boot, but the shaft is too snug around the ankle. It might stretch out with wear, but at this price, I don't want to take the chance.

I wish the heel was a little higher. Otherwise they're warm, waterproof and beautiful!

I have owned these suede boots for three years now and they still look fabulous. The highest quality, yet understated elegance makes them a go-to boot for dresses and skirts. It is nice to find boots that hug my calves. A great and timeless investment.

I JUST received these beautiful boots and walked around the house for a test. Unbelievably comfortable and gorgeous! They are an exact fit in length and width and no gapping at ankle or top (I wear a 5.5 medium). Thank you for the reviews from other petite woman (I am 5' and 108 lbs). It is challenging for us to find boots that hit below the knee and aren't to wide in the shaft. These are so pretty in black suede that I immediately logged on to purchase in leather but they don't seem to be available now. Will check back after the holidays. Very happy Zappos customer :).

Very happy with style and fit. Have been looking for a pair of dress boots that are comfortable, stylish, dressy, and simple design. These look like they will wear well, and waterproof is a plus. This is the most I have ever spent on a pair of boots, but I'm happy I did!

These boots are the perfect height and calf circumference. I think I will be able to dress up or down to get a lot of wear.

Kinda bummed the right boot felt slightly larger~ heel slipped, but nothing a thick sock wouldn't fix. Simply an amazing looking boot though and comfortable heel height.

Perfectly awesome boot. Good balanced construction. Able to run around like I'm wearing tennis shoes! Worth the investment.

Very comfortable and stylish. I have very narrow calf circumference and these looked good with jeans but did have some gap with leggings. The lining is very comfy. I am 5.3 and the top of the shaft (size 8) touched my knees. Wish they had been an inch shorter! I had ordered the Mercedes too and kept that instead.

I actually just bought this boot for the second time. I owned it, and wore it constantly in the winter, for probably over 5 years?! Finally thought that maybe they were getting a little old, and I was getting a little bored (they were still in good shape!) and gave them away during a massive closet purge. And then I missed them. And never found anything else as comfortable, warm, waterproof, cute and functional. You will wear them all the time, and you can walk forever. Enough of a heel to be a heel (not easy to pull off any heel in snow and ice, and these work), but not high enough to teeter. And warm. And waterproof. And they take a beating - the suede will show salt/slush, but you just wipe them off with a wet washcloth and they're good as new. Are there probably cuter boots out there in the entire world of fashion? Sure. But they'll be higher, and less comfortable, and certainly not winter proof. And will they be your go to horrible Chicago winter "dress boot" the way this one can be? I doubt it! Note: I wear a 7 generally, but wear a 7.5 in La Canadienne.
