Comfy! These boots are incredible; the heel is just the right height (2 3/4"; not too tall). The shaft is a great width; snug, but still comfortable, and the style is just perfect! When my budget allows it, I'll be getting the brown & charcoal suede as well.

Zappos is great! I have ordered four times; always the fastest shipping and easy returns, exchanges. Honest company. With that said, now about the Kara boot. I have a 14 inch calf, the boots still work for me! The water does bead right off the boot. Kara is soft and no slouching! I can only wear nylons, due to my larger calf; will not be able to wear leggings. I love them and they are very slimming; make the foot look small and are kind of sexy and chic! My instep and arch is high and foot is a bit on the wide side, so was amazed to get the size right the first try! I ordered an eight and a half. In tennis shoes that is what I wear and for flats, usually an eight. I do worry about scuffing, as the suede is very fine; also the boot is breathable, yet warm! I wish there was a bit more arch support and forefoot padding. But this boot makes no sound with the rubber sole. I feel as long as I care properly for this boot, it will last me eight years! Thank you Zappos and I will be getting the same boot again in black and grey. I bought the brown first! Zappos customer service is awesome and shipping the best! Make more colors please! Purple, olive green,and red! I wear my summer capris with them! So that winterizes my summer pants!

These boots are comfortable, chic, and very practical - rubber soles and waterproof. Great for daytime and Saturday night too. I\'m now a big fan of La Canadienne!

Love these boots. If you have big feet (9 1/2) and a narrow calf, these are for you. They fit my ankle and calf snugly and are extremely comfortable. I purchased a full size smaller and they fit beautifully. They are waterproof, sexy and comfortable. What else could a girl want?

These boots are fantastic. I usually wear a 5.5 in dress and a 6 in casual. I bought a 5.5 and they fit perfectly with a thin to mid weight hose/sock. The leather did stretch and these slouch just a touch around the ankle, but they still look great and I have worn them multiple days in a row with no problems. They look great with pants and skirts/dresses. I\'m so impressed with this boot that I intend to try another style from this brand, in the future.

I had been looking for a new pair of boots with a reasonable heel that I could wear both casually and dressy. I had never tried La Canadienne until these boots and I love them. They are very comfortable; I have worn them all day from meetings to walking through the streets of Manhattan and my feet only started to hurt towards the end of the day. They are true to size and very well made. I am so happy with La Canadienne that I just another pair of ankle boots from them (through Zappos of course) and I\'m set for the winter!

I recently purchased the La Canadienne Kara boot in black suede and this has become my favorite pair of shoes. I like this brand because they use such high quality leather. I walk to and from work and can wear these boots all day without having my feet ache. Also, this boot has both a zipper and expander which means you could wear them with skirts or skinny jeans and the shaft will conform comfortably to your calf. If you do need to get the shaft taken in, you have a number of options (by either taking it in at the expander, the dart, or the full length of the zipper). This also means the cost of tailoring the shaft isn't as expensive. As someone with a long history of having cobblers modify my shoes, believe me I know. Although truthfully for most people, these boots will fit like a glove right out of the box. These were definitely worth the money!

These boots are extremely comfortable. I walked around, using stairs up and down, all day in my first day in this pair. No problem. In spite of rather thick heels, they look totally elegant with my shirt dress. Nicely fit to my legs' curves. The deep charcoal color is amazing, too. Love them!

These are, by far, the most expensive boots I have ever purchased, but I am glad I did. They are very comfortable and look very smart. I agree with earlier reviews that mention how tight the boot is around the calf. I also experienced this, but the fabric stretched after the first couple of wearings and now it is not tight at all.

I love these boots! The only problem is that my calves are 14" and these boots are 13.75". There is some elastic on the side, so I\'m really hoping they will stretch out. After I wore them around the house, they made a mark on the sides of my legs, but were comfortable in the feet. Does anyone know how much these boots might stretch out?

This is the 3rd pair of LaCanadienne boots I have purchased, the 2nd from Zappos (The first time I didn't know you existed), not because they fell apart, but because I love them so much! This style especially looks great with jeans and dresses, is super comfortable and stays warm and dry in the winter. They are well worth the expense, and they are expensive, but if you live in a cold snowy climate, you need these boots!
