A beautiful boot -- work appropriate, extremely comfortable, and not too big on my skinny calves!

The boots are gorgeous. I got tons of compliments on them! I wore them all day at work and did lots of walking. They were totally comfortable!

Alas, those who said these boots are wide through the calves were right. I thought they'd work for me, since I have muscular calves (and other La Canadienne boots I have tried have been too tight), but unfortunately these were so loose that they looked silly with a dress -- although if I had been looking for heeled boots to wear with tucked-in jeans, they would have done the trick. If you have thick calves and normally find dress boots too tight, these might just be for you! They are made of a luscious soft suede, have the usual thin-but-warm La Canadienne lining which I love, and seem like they'd be quite comfortable even with a fairly high heel.

These boots are amazing and they fit like a glove, comfortable, lightweight yet sturdy, gorgeous, and easy to walk in. I even danced in them for 4 hours one evening! I've never spent this much money on a pair of boots, but I saved money in the long run by getting these boots and not winding up with yet another pair that neither pleased me 100% nor ended my search for the perfect black suede boot.

Expensive, and worth every penny. Comfortable, beautiful, warm and completely waterproof.

These are fabulous boots. They look great and for heels, are very comfortable. They are expensive, but worth it. Zappos is great with shipping.

Bought this boot even though its price was higher than I would normally spend, since the reviews were so positive. It is a very stylish and comfortable boot that I can stand in for hours without sore feet. Nice sturdy sole for slippery, icy conditions, warm upper and easy to slip on. I expect it will last me many winters. Very satisfied!

Gorgeous, gorgeous boot! Extremely well made and the suede is so soft. I have been wanting/needing dressier suede boots for so long and these were just what I wanted. However, they do not fit me comfortably. The foot bed itself is fine but shaft is too snug and seems to cut off my circulation! I'm extremely disappointed to say the least. Hopefully I'll find the perfect fit through Zappos soon. Thanks Zappos for your awesome customer care and service!

I love my new boots! They fit is perfect, for my feet, wide spread narrow heel. The height of the heel a bit higher, than I had wanted, but still comfortable The style is classic, yet not too dated. Thanks Zappos for making it easy shopping for my new boots!

The quest for the perfect pair of boots can be a rather daunting task, especially when you have long skinny feet (size 10A) and stick calves (13 inches). At last I seem to have found success with La Canadienne Kara! I typically do not wear heels (at 5'9'' I really do not need or want any extra height), but I found this heel to be quite comfortable. I know reviewers often say this and I never believe them, but yes, it really does not feel like a heel at all. The foot bed is comfortable, as is the heel cup (this is a critical point for me as I often have issues with my pointy heel and blisters). Length and width felt like a true 10 regular. I have enough room to wear thick socks (feels just ever so slightly snug), but can also wear with tights without swimming around too much (feels pretty much like a regular shoe fit). For my inaugural outside wear, I traipsed around all day with lots of walking, and my feet felt fine at the end of the day. In terms of calf fit, I found it to be just a touch loose, maybe a pinky width. So I can easily wear these with a skirt without looking like my stick legs are swimming in boats (hallelujah a boot for skinny calf girls!!), and I have a bit of room to tuck in jeans if I want to sport that look. Lining is nice and warm just as advertised. The charcoal really is more of a taupe. Had to see for myself, but a previous reviewer made this observation as well. I ultimately ended up going with black. The only stumbling block is the price. I have never spent this much money on footwear. But since I have been looking for years for the right calf fit, I took the plunge, and I am one happy boot wearing gal! Bottom line: give these a try. They may work for you.

These boots are sweet. Love these boots. Incredibly comfortable...my feet run between regular width (M) and wide (W). These regulars feel perfect. The round toe on these boots provides a roomy fit. The lining is soft and warm. The heel is effectively only 2 1/4" at the tallest (more like 2") because of the 1/2" platform in the front. So for walking they provide surprising comfort--and I do a lot of walking. This is my 5th pair of La Canadienne boots, and while the others have similar or lower heels, this pair has the best arch support. Go figure. They are all very comfortable, which is a must, as I do blocks and blocks of real city walking (Manhattan). As a bonus, they look fantastic. Worth the dough.

Glamorous comfort that will last - I have a wide toe box with a high arch. I usually wear an 8.5 wide. I ordered these boots in a 9 and they fit perfectly. My foot does not flow over the sole. I cannot believe how luxurious and beautiful these boots are - as well as comfortable! They are really sexy. They have a high heel, yet there is a platform on the boot, so it is not as high as it looks. You are instantly taller without the awkwardness of stilettos. I am so happy with my purchase that I will by another pair of these in another color. I bought the dark grey. It's not the norm, but it goes with more than you might think. And, not everybody is wearing grey suede boots, so they are an eye catcher. I can't decide if I want the brown or the black now. I also like the comfortable feeling and the somewhat stretchiness. I have wide calves because I am a bit over weight and they zip up tight, yet do not bother me once I am off and running. WORTH EVERY BUCK!

I needed black boots for last minute trip to HK, got them 2 days before I left. Nice looking boot, but does not fit my calf, is too thin and even with my jeans there is so much room. I feel as though they are great for waterproof feature, but I don't have much of an arch and should only buy shoes that fit me well. I did a lot of walking on trip and my baby toe hurt on right boot, so I returned the shorter version boot I brought all the way to HK and didn't wear. I just ordered 2 pairs of Taryn Rose hoping I can find lightweight comfortable and stylish shoes for my next trip to Asia; I hope these fit me better!

These boots are gorgeous!!! When I opened the box, they were even better looking than in the pictures. Wow, I mean wow! You have to see them in person to believe me. They look very sexy yet are super comfortable. I have very thin calves, hence I have a very hard time finding boots that fit me right and don't look like fishing boots on me. La Canadienne is my go-to brand. Last year I have discovered their boots and bought a different pair of boots with smaller heel. They were also a perfect fit and super comfortable. This year I felt like investing in higher heel boots and I got these. I can't really say how durable they are as I live in California - no snow here and rain is hard to come by, but judging by other reviews, I think they'll hold up just fine. Gosh, I still can't get over how gorgeous yet comfortable these boots are! LOVE them!

Very, vary happy with my new boots. I want to sleep in them, they fit so well. Seriously thinking I should buy another pair for the future. They are stylish and comfortable. I'm an architect and have to walk construction sites, they work great. Highly recommend.

Beautiful suede, comfortable for walking immediately. True to size. I'm 5'10" and these are a couple of inches below my knee, but they look awesome with black tights. I'm excited to take these on a trip to DC where there will be cold weather, possible snow and lots of walking.

I was looking for a less expensive version of Princess Kate's boots Aquayalia by Marvin K Rhumba boot, which cost a lot. Yikes! I actually ordered THOSE boots, tried them on, loved them but just couldn't manage that price so I began to look for a comparable boot with a better price and VOILA! The Kara by La Canadienne is the perfect match. It is stretch suede, fully waterproof and has a nice heel. The sole is a slight platform and one piece with the heel and has plenty of traction. It also keeps your foot warmer by keeping it off the ground. The only difference is that the Rhumba has a partial zipper over the ankle area while this Kara has a full zipper. I have slender to average calves and this boot zips up easily over tights as well as socks and leggings. It is easy to wear and very comfortable. I wear a shoe size 8.5B but ALWAYS get a size 9 in boots. These fit true to size and width. They are dressier boots but still look great with a casual skirt and tights, too. I have started only buying waterproof boots that are made in Canada because they seem to really know how to make a boot to stay dry and still look good.

Elegant, really comfortable, well made boot. I always get an 8 in boots, usually 7 1/2 in shoes. I had to get the 7 1/2 in these. Perhaps if I had planned to wear thick socks, the 8 would have been ok, but with this type of elegant boot a thin sock or even tights would likely be the choice. This is that elusive, non-constricting, good looking, feminine without the suffering, boot we all hope to find!

This is one of the best looking and most comfortable boots I have ever purchased! La Canadienne boots are awesome! This is my fourth pair and by far the best! Also thank you for Zappos for excellent customer service and description on products!

I LOVE these boots. I've coveted them for ages. They are supremely comfortable. I'm fairly tall and usually don't wear heels higher than two inches--both because of comfort and because I feel silly being six feet tall. But these boots! They're very comfortable. Feels like a 2 inch heel, tops. Easy to walk in, no foot pain at all. They are soft, waterproof, and gorgeous! I've got normal to skinny calves, and they fit great. There's a teeny tiny bit of gaping, but whatever-- when it gets really cold it means I'll have room for long underwear and thick long socks! They're really beautiful, and the soles are so padded it's like walking in slippers. True to size, fits like a glove!

These are great boots, they are very stylish yet comfortable. They are really waterproof, too! Based on some reviews I ordered size 8 ( I usually wear 7½) but I exchanged it for 7½ as 8 was too big. The only con is the price, but I still believe that you are getting a pretty good deal for the amount paid.

I tried 13 pairs of boots, looking for a pair which would be both comfortable and fashionable. The Kara finally worked! These boots are SO comfortable! More than I wanted to spend, but definitely worth it.

I don't usually write reviews, even though I am happy when an item has them and appreciate others who do write them! These boots are so comfortable right off the start that I wanted to echo the good reviews! And, Zappos service was great as usual! Love Zappos!
