Love these boots! They fit true to size and have ample room to tuck in jeans, even if they are not skinny jeans! They are very sharp and get many compliments. Worth every penny because of the quality.

I love these boots! I ordered them on a Wednesday and received them that Thursday. I love them so much I wore them Friday, Saturday and Sunday! I usually wear a 8.5 or a 9; ordered the 8.5 and they fit well as far as length. The other reviews are correct, they are wide in the heel and a little narrow in the front area. I wore thick socks which helped with the heel and I did not get blisters. They are still much more comfortable than heels and just as stylish. I received quite a few compliments over the weekend. This is definitely my biggest splurge on shoes, but like everyone else says in the reviews, you will be wearing these for years because of their classic styling and rugged leather. They are a little big on me in the calf area, but because they are a higher boot (hits right under my knee and I am 5'8") it does not show so much. And the straps on the boots are functional, so I tightened the upper strap to the last hole. I wore them with a black dress Friday night (I have the bordeaux color, a tad lighter than the picture depicts, which I was worried about them being a little too dark, so it worked out perfectly!) and with skinny jeans Saturday night. They looked great with both outfits. Highly recommend.

This is my 6th pair of Frye boots, and I think my favorite. The first couple of times I wore them, the heel did slip up, but now that they are broken in, they are just so comfortable, even wearing them all day. I have athletic calves, so it's hard for me to find tall boots, but I can even wear these with skinny jeans tucked in. They look great with skirts, too. Very well made and feel true to size. Worth the money.

Great boots. I have a fairly narrow foot. They slip in the heel just a bit, but otherwise a great and comfortable fit. Great looking, good quality, good height. Wouldn\'t fit someone with a large calf. I wear a size 8 1/2 Cole Haan, and I ordered an 8 in this shoe. Worth the money.

Beautiful boots, just what I wanted. I read all of these reviews before picking my size and I finally decided to go with a half size up. I\'m a 6 1/2 in tennis shoes and a 7 in heels and boots and I ordered a 7 in these. There is no way I would have worn a 6 1/2 comfortably. They will look too big before you put them on but it is only because the toe narrows. I\'ve worn them twice and I still feel like I have giant feet when looking down at them but the shaft of the boot makes up for that. And when you look in the mirror they look fine. I would highly recommend these if you\'re into the unique, European style look.

So, Frye must have spied on all of my boot shopping trips in the last few years, because these Dorado Riding Boots are the answer to all my footwear prayers. I'm 5'8'' and have definite "dancer calves" (15.5 inches) which means finding cute boots is an endeavor. Pull on styles, especially, never ever fit. After reading the measurements on here, I was a little nervous about these not working out, since 15'' circumferences are on the small side for me, but the other reviewers comments convinced me to take a chance. Wow. I'm so glad I did! The boots fit perfectly: slim at the ankles, without the dreaded bunching, but with enough room to not only pull the boots on comfortably, but to wear them with my skinny jeans, as well! As far as styling, these are absolutely perfect riding boots. They look good with anything from jeans to dresses and have a very luxe appearance. I was torn between the Spice and Bordeaux versions, but opted for the Spice in the end. The color is absolutely amazing, just like in the pictures. I'd seen other images on the Frye website that had it looking more like a tan, but the true color is more of a rich black tea with honey. Just perfect! Seriously, if you have trouble finding boots that fit your calves, or just want a great looking riding boot, you can't go wrong with these! They're definitely pricey, but a pair of Fryes will last a lifetime. With this classic styling, you'll be sure to want them a lifetime, as well. Personally, I may be sacrificing part of my Christmas bonus for another pair! Also, note on Zappos: My boots ordered late on a Monday night, then arrived at my doorstep before 3 the next day! With that kind of service, why would you order shoes from anywhere else?

These boots are positively awesome. They gave me blisters the first four or five times I wore them, but if you alternate days you wear them your heels toughen up pretty quickly. I get compliments on them every single time I wear them. And they're comfortable enough to walk to work in them. I walk about a mile back and forth every day.

I bought these boots in brown last year. This was the best fashion investment I have EVER made. Everywhere I wear these boots I am stopped and asked who\'s they are. This was a big investment in a shoe for me, but cost per wear this shoe will win! Fall came around and nothing excited me more than pulling these boots out and slipping my skinny jeans inside of them. It was like hello winter, welcome - stick around a little while so I can kick around!

Great quality leather and workmanship is very fine. These boots are just what I have been looking for. I really wanted some boots to fit over my jeans, but my thighs are not tiny (15" thighs, 5'7" tall and a size 8.5 shoe). Boot after boot was tried and rejected. (Isn't Zappos wonderful!) These worked! They are relatively tall boots and fit easily over my jeans.

These boots are awesome! I first saw them in a high end department store back in August, but they were sold out. I knew from last year that I wanted Fryes because they fit my calf with jeans on and are comfortable for looking fashionable on NYC streets! When I went to Zappos, I saw they had the Bordeaux color which is superb! The other colors were not as fun; this color works with everything and has a vintage feel. When they arrived I was pleased that they fit perfectly. It takes a few days to wear them in and the bottoms are still a bit slippery, which I still may get a rubber sole put on for rough winter days. All in all a good purchase; I will purchase more Fryes in the future. They are also expensive looking and get me attention from guys!

OMG!\r\nThese boots are to die for! I got them in black, brown, and antique suede. My passion for Frye boots goes way back to the 70\'s. Expensive, but worth every dime. Also, Zappo\'s customer service can\'t be beat!

I bought these in the Bordeaux to replace a pair of similar boots that I had worn for 10 years before retiring them. It was a bit of a hunt, but once I saw them I had to get them. They are very comfortable; I can wear them all day. The leather is butter soft. Very stylish and will go with so many different outfits. Like other Frye boots, go down a 1/2 size. I normally am a size 8, but wear a 7 1/2 in Fryes. These will last many years and be worth every penny. Top notch!

I had looked everywhere for the perfect brown boot. I had decided even that money was no object. I had never bought anything from Zappos before, but the selection I found there was incredible. The boots are fantastic and I am stopped every time I wear them with questions about where I got them. I have yet to see them in the stores. They do run a little big and I should have exchanged them for size, but I really did not want to go a day without out them so I didn't exchange them. Really beautiful boot!

These boots are hot! They are so comfortable and true to size. I bought these last fall and they still look like new. Every time I wear them I get complemented. I love them so much that I bought another pair of Frye riding boots this fall. The Dorados are a bit pricey but are worth every penny. I strongly recommend them you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Just what I was looking for - This boot is comfy, stylish, yet subtle enough for everyday wear. Jeans, tights, skirts, dresses all go w/ the look of this boot. The quality is great. I am happy that I got the style and comfort I was looking for.

I read through the reviews of this boot, and although I'd originally ordered the Paige style, I ended up opting for this one! Great boot. They do fit about one size larger than what you'd wear in a shoe. I have a narrow foot and these work just great. They do slip on the heel but it's the job and cut of the boot. I love 'em. And Zappos is great too. Fast and really into customer service. I will definitely order from them again.

In L.O.V.E. Shopped around a ton for a good, dark, brown, flat boot. These were marked down 20% and I'd heard of Frye's excellent reputation for well-made boots, so I went for it. So glad I did! I get tons of compliments, and they're adorable with skirts, skinny jeans, leggings, dresses...tons of character. Pretty comfortable, but the heel is very stiff, so don't be surprised if you end with a little blister before they're broken in (if you wear them all day!)

Dorado Frye boots - love em - These boots although not cheap, are definitely worth it for me. I first started thinking about a pair of flat black riding boots several years ago when I saw a friend wearing a hot pair of Prada riding boots. I didn't want to pay Prada prices, so I kept my eye out for something less expensive. I came across these last year (or was it the year before), which were EXACTLY what I wanted but they were still a bit more than what I wanted to pay (in this economy!), so I kept looking. I looked at other similar styles and either the quality or the look was not quite the same. So I finally gave in and just got what I wanted! I have a pair of Frye Harness boots that ran quite big, but these fit true to size. I know with Frye quality these boots will last for a very long time, and because of the very classic styling, I will wear them for seasons to come.

Crazy for these boots! Since the minute I received them, these boots were incredibly comfortable, and absolutely gorgeous. I wore them ALL DAY the first day and never felt like they needed breaking in. I probably could have ordered a half size down, but since I wear an orthotic anyway because of bunions and a very high instep, the size 9 is perfect for me, whether I wear a thin or thick sock. The leather is just amazing looking and I get compliments all the time. I love Zappos!

Sophisticated souls - I love my Frye boots! They are a little bit country-girl and a little bit city-slicker. They work perfectly dressed up with a skirt or down with jeans.

Awesome boots, slippery soles - I got these boots and wore them without considering the soles. I then proceeded to slip and fall all day until someone suggested roughing up the bottoms with sandpaper. Definitely a stylish and good buy overall.

Using these shoes for marathon training. Need motion control for my low/non-existent arch and over-pronation. Was using XT's but tried motion control shoes from another manufacturer. Developed shin splints and tendinitis. Went back to XT's and running pain free again. They are a little stiff but it is worth the sacrifice to run long distances pain/injury free.

Haute Horsey! So stylish and unlike my actual riding boots I use for equestrian purchases, are comfortable and easy to out on/pull off. I get quite a few compliments on these as they look great with everything from skinny jeans to slip dresses and cardigans to a more edgy t shirt look. They fit like most Frye boots which is one to one half size larger than normal, but seeing as they are fall/winter boots, I appreciate the extra room so I can wear them with thick nubby warm socks. They take about 4 wears to break in (I learned this the hard way after getting blisters on my heels), but are a great price for the quality.

Fantastic Boot!!! The craftsmanship on this boot is really, really good. The leather is soft, but still hardly enough for the style of a riding built. Even though I am of a fairly petite size, I have a very athletic build and have about 17 inch calves. I got them stretched just slightly so I could wear over the knee socks with them and now they are a dream to wear! I have a couple of to the knee boots that are very stylish and sexy, but I consider these boots in a class of their own. Zappos is a fantastic company to do business with. I always go to them first for all my shoes. Their customer service is second to none. I take a size 7 1/2 and ordered that size but decided on a 1/2 size larger to ensure comfort. The boot runs just a little big for me in the ankle, but I have bought heel grips to hold the boot in place (if even needed).
