Beautiful and comfortable shoe. I have this style in 4 colors. Doesn't look like an othopedic shoe but wears like one. Very good arch support.

Definitely comfortable. I was worried by all the comments that the shoes would be too wide (I have a narrow foot), but they weren't too wide at all. So, no worries for any of you narrow footed people. However...the comments about this shoe running large are inaccurate. I've had my feet measured recently and so I'm quite confident about my size. They run true to size. But if, like me, you have a longer second toe (which, by the way, is where I'm taking my shoe size from, not the big toe...so in theory this should still be 100% accurate), these will not work out so much. The toe box slants rather drastically after the big toe - you can see this from the picture. While the shoes fit fine just standing or sitting, at the first step, my foot slides forward and those longer toes crunch. Sadly, I'll have to return this shoe.

Loved the shoes, but the suede has separated from the leather at the stitching on one of the shoes. Sorry I have to return them, they are very comfortable.

Too wide for my foot. Front/toe box is okay, especially with socks, but I have a narrower heel, and this shoe "gaps" from the instep to the heel.

Shoe is very comfortable but it seemed to stretch the longer I wore them so now I pretty much wear as a slipper at home with thick socks.

I love the fit with two exceptions that are probably caused by the shape of my foot: I need a heel lift even with this base, and the strap is too long for my narrow foot and low arch. I plan to see if a shoemaker can safely cut a piece off the end of the strap.

Well, after ordering five pairs of this model and the Tirai, I finally got one that actually fit. This was my first experience with Naot. The pair I finally kept are super comfortable, but their sizing is so erratic. Was way too much trouble. The only good part was doing business with Zappos. They still get an A+ for effort. Kudos to them and their customer service staff.

They are very comfortable to wear. I particularly like that you can sling the strap across the front for a good tight fit.

Interesting shoe for a comfort shoe. I liked the style. It was a tad sloppy, wide, but will be okay with thicker socks. Very comfortable. A good alternative so some of the more basic orthopedic looking shoes without sacrificing support or lasting relief from all the reasons one would wear a sturdy sensible shoe. Color and styling gives an outfit some pizazz.

I bought a smaller size based on previous reviews, so they weren't huge on me, but still a tad larger than I would have liked. The straps were off though. One shoe had a much longer strap than the other one did, and it looked sloppy. Not what I would expect from a shoe in this price range, so back they go.

I wanted to keep these, but they were an "almost", not a yes for me, especially at full price. I own a pair of Naot sandals I've had for about 15 years, so I know it is a good brand for me. I tried Naot Kirei, but they hit the top of my foot in an uncomfortable place. This style fits the top of my foot well, but the highest point of the arch support feels just a bit too far forward for my comfort. (I had a broken sesamoid bone so pressure at the ball of my foot is now very uncomfortable.) I tried a pair of Haflinger sandals from the same order, and they felt perfect right out of the box, so perhaps just a better brand for me. Compared to most brands I've tried in stores since my broken foot, these would fare very well, just not better than Birkenstock or Haflinger for my particular arch shape. Too bad, because I really want a shoe that looks like Matai! I'm going to try Wolky next. Thank God for Internet stores like Zappos for tricky feet like mine.

So cute, but they gap at the side, and still pinch across the edge of the front part. Also, arches didn't match -- left shoe much better than right.

Great comfortable footbed and really cute shoe, but the buckle rubbed the top of my foot so I had to return. Will definitely try another Naot style.

Zappos shipped the Naot Matai quickly. I really liked the way it looked. It was supportive and comfortable, but unfortunately it was too wide at the heel and instep. I had to pull the strap fairly tight so it would not slip at the heel. That made the strap and it's medal holder dig into the top of my foot. I'm disappointed...back it goes. If it fits your foot, you'll be in comfort!

These shoes are ridiculously comfortable. They are a little big for my small feet. They fit perfectly with thick socks. I've walked several miles in these without any foot pain. I highly recommend these for people with more average sized feet.

I was skeptical about going a size smaller but they are perfect. Love the leather. For the price they could have had more padding on the forefoot.

I have two pairs of these extremely comfortable shoes. They are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. My only complaint is that the suede edging is not as durable as the rest of the shoe. I have had a problem with the suede trim on both pairs. One tore and the other wore away. I fixed the torn trim with super glue but it doesn't look great. I would like to find shoes that fit like the Matai without the suede trim.

These shoes are very comfortable overall. But if I wear it and walk for more than 4 hours or so, the strap tightens up and leaves a mark over my foot and hurt just a little bit. Other than that, I love the shoes, wear it to work every. It's also very stylish, I can wear with all my outfits.

I have these shoes in black and love them. Ordered these (metallic) and even though they look silver in the computer image, they have a gold cast. Bronze. Disappointing. I sent them back. I'm looking for gray/silver shoes.

I have worn these shoes almost every single day since I bought them in November 2009. I love almost everything about them. I wrote a review early on when I purchased them. Having worn them 475 times now, I can say that there is one thing that I really wish would be changed in the design. I had an inkling of it when I first got them, but as time has gone on it is what might prevent me from buying a second time. The straps across your foot close with velcro, so you can adjust tightness as you wish. To have these tight against your foot, the end of the strap goes nearly to the bottom of the shoe. As the shoe ages, and the leather strap stretches, the velcro just doesn't line up properly, so you don't get a good hold. The strap comes undone with a flex of your foot. It makes for a poorly fitting shoe now. The leather strap has stretched so what was a long, almost to the bottom of the shoe strap to begin with is now just silly looking long. What saves the strap from actually hitting the earth is that the ends now curl up. Bottom line? The strap should have velcro all the way across so the strap can be tightened correctly for the entire aging of the shoe. The strap should be shorter so when it stretches it still looks nice, instead of a handlebar mustache.

Cutest shoes ever. I get so many comments on these shoes. Also super comfy. I only wish Naot would make half sizes in the larger sizes. 12 is too big, 11 too small. I will buy more Naot shoes.

These shoes are adorable, and the left shoe's foot bed felt like a dream when I slipped into it! But for some reason the right footbed seems to hit my arch in the wrong place. I wear an 8.5 US and ordered the 39 as instructed, but overall the shoes are too small. The left feels slightly bigger for some reason, but in both my toes are up against the toe bed. This is my first pair of Naot and after the wonderful reviews I've read I think I'll try a size up before giving up, but I'm sad to return these so soon after trying them on.

These look more gold/coppery than pictured. I liked the color. There was a feeling of looseness across the arch, perhaps because the strap is so low and angled. A gap formed along the instep with each step. And, I have wide feet!

I ordered a size smaller, as suggested in the description, but it was TOO SMALL. I will order a size up, as I like the shoe, but am still a little concerned that it will be on the small side.
