I may have already reviewed these but wanted to give you an update. These are the very first Naot's I have purchased. I was diagnosed with cancer in fall of 2012 and my legs were swelling so none of my old shoes were comfortable. I went into a local real shoe store and came home with these in January 2013. I have lived in them since that time!! I went ahead and purchased them in white last summer but the metal leather is worn nearly always as it goes with everything. Surprisingly I have had complements on them and found other women that have them as well. A lady last week said they were "in style". I even wear these shoes bicycling now. Because of the metal look, they look brand new - even after all this time. I highly recommend and am looking at purchasing another pair right now. I like the position of the strap on this style. It does not bind at all and the shoes do not slip.

This is definitely a quality shoe, but unfortunately the sizes for this shoe are not for my foot. I am a 9 medium and I wear an orthotic so the insole has to come out. I read previous reviews that the shoe runs large so I ordered a 39 and a 40 and neither size fit. My foot swam in the 40, but my toes touched the end in the 39. I was disappointed because it is hard to find this type of shoe that also has some style that I could wear with a skirt to the office. Perhaps a different Naot style will work with my foot.

This has been one of my most comfortable go-to shoes in by wardrobe. All together I've bought this style 5 times.

Love these shoes! They are so comfortable & great looking, too. Good arch support. I had previously bought a pair in another color at a local shoe store, but couldn't find any in black - until I checked Zappos!

These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Excellent arch support, yet cushy at the same time. My only complaint is they're little "bling-y" for my taste. I could live without the swirl, and the metallic trim. They also feel ever-so-slightly short, and they don't come in half sizes. I got the 40 (size 9) which works OK, a 9 1/2 would have worked better.

Very comfortable, great arch support, yet cushy at the same time. I ordered these in two different color schemes, and kept the other one (brown/black) these look suede in the picture, but are actually sort of metallic looking. Returned for that reason only.

These just came in the brown luggage color, size 39 medium. I absolutely love them! The color is a rich reddish brown - exactly like good leather luggage or a handbag. For medium, these fit my feet that are between an ordinary narrow and a medium. Many mediums are a tad too wide, but I need toebox space. This fills the bill for the toebox, also fits my whole foot. This is the first Mary Jane style that is cut high enough to cover and not cut into a big toe joint on one foot. The styling is downright cute, not clunky and the heel is narrow enough to not slip up and down as I usually experience in a closed shoe. Thank you, Naot! This will be one pair of my shoes for a European trip, attractive enough for all casual wear or even a casual dress or skirt. I am wearing them in the house to be sure that they are broken in. But frankly they feel like they do not need breaking in.

I love these shoes so much that this is my second pair. The first pair finally wore out after over 6 years of service. (FYI, the soles (heels) wore through.) Comfy right out of the box.

I'm a Vivobarefoot girl myself, but a recent stress fracture required my having a little more cushion in a shoe so I checked out Naot and picked out two pairs of Matai and love them. They are ultimately comfortable, nicely styled, and my puppy loves to pull apart the Velcro strap and nibble on my feet. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who wants a comfortable shoe for walking, being on their feet, or dancing around a rambunctious pup's foot attacks. Nice with socks, or without.

These shoes are great! Very comfy and lots of room in the toe bed without too loose a fit in the heel. I have narrow spacing between my metatarsals and I am very comfortable with these shoes for walking, even without my orthotics. I followed the suggestion of others and got 1/2 size smaller than I normally do in a closed-toe shoe. And, for a walking shoe, they're stylish.

Very nice shoe and comfortable on the foot; however, the velcro on the strap across the top protruded a bit and scratched the tops of both feet. I had to add stick-on pads to make them comfortable. The first pair I received had a seam defect on the side but the return was handled promptly.

This is my fourth pair of Naot shoes. I'm gradually transitioning all of my shoes to this brand. I'm only 43 but I have bunions and a nerve-damaged toe. I want stylish shoes that also protect my feet. Plus I walk... everywhere! The Matai fits that bill. Oddly, I had to order a size larger than I normally due - despite several reviews that said they ran small. The shoes are stylish and super comfortable.

Naot Matai shoes are great for women with narrow feet because there is serious arch support that makes a medium width more narrow than it would normally be. The shoes are fun and well made and come in a variety of colors. You will come back for another color after you walk in these shoes.

This is the third pair of these shoes I've bought. I started out wearing them just for casual occasions but now, after realizing how comfortable they are and how pain-free my knees and hips are after wearing them, I wear them for ALL occasions!

This is a very attractive and comfortable shoe, as NAOT shoes are. I did not find it large as others had said and now have to return this.

I hesitated to spend full price on a pair of shoes. However, after decided to purchase I do not regret my decision. This is my first pair of Naot and it won't be my last. They were comfortable from the minute I put them on. Six hours walking on concrete and I feel great. Highly recommend them.

Naot shoes have been my all-time favorite brand since I "discovered" them about five years ago. There is something about their footbed that suits my feet perfectly;my feet have problems and I have had trouble finding comfortable shoes. Now I must own about 10 different styles of Naots. Though sandals are my favorite to wear and most comfortable, the best closed-toe shoe I own and have ever owned is the Matai style. Perhaps it is the shape of the toe box or the fact that shoe has a Velcro strap located in the right spot for me that makes this a very comfortable shoe. The first pair of Matais I owned went with me on a two-week trip to Italy about 4 years ago. I wore them every day, walking miles and climbing steep hills. My feet were comfortable the entire time. My only complaint has to do with the Velcro. Eventually, the Velcro wore out and I had to it replaced. The new Velcro was never the same, so I stopped wearing those shoes. Just a few months ago, I bought myself this new pair of Matais. I am looking forward to having a long association with them!

I own five pairs of these in size 41. My feet are thick and boxy with a high instep. These shoes are wide enough in the ball of the foot for them to spread out without pinching my bunion or crowding my Mortons Neuroma. The angled strap puts less pressure on my instep than a regular Mary Jane Strap. The toe box is sufficiently deep as to give room for my thick toes and the toe line is very gently angled so as to allow minimal crowding for my third fourth and fifth toes. I also recommend the Naot Paris Sandals for comfort if you have thick feet.

I totally love Naot Footwear! I have plantar fasciitis problems and these shoes feel so good! I have a wide foot and once I had the instep stretched on these they feel fine. I really wish they would do half sizes. A 6 is a little short and a 7 doesn't hit me in the instep right. So I do the 6 and after I've worn them a bit my foot just settles in to comfort!

I bought these for my trip to Paris. I had read reviews that these shoes were amazingly comfortable. I could not agree more. Amazingly comfortable. Almost feel likes one is wearing slippers. I just love them.

These Naots are my most expensive shoe. I now own four pair of different styles. They are also my most comfortable shoe. I recently walked four miles as a tourist in them and was delighted in my happy feet.

I hesitated to purchase because of the cost and I didn't know if I would like the looks of the shoe. I needed a comfortable work shoe however and ordered. I am so glad that I did! The shoe felt good the first day at work and I got comments on how cute they were! So... happy on both accounts!

If I could afford nothing but Matai Naot's on my feet that is what I would do, in all colors and combinations. This shoe is not only beautiful but I could wear it all day and did, hiking through European cobbled streets and up and down hills, then off to an evening opera. It runs true to size with ample room for my somewhat squared off toes.
