THE SHOE for serious walking - I had worn out my 843's, and wanted a new model to walk in Disney World. It surely lived up to my expectations! Both models ran 1/2 size short, so 1/2 size up fits perfectly. I am a narrow, and this shoe fits the bill. I will stay in this shoe for all of my serious walking ventures. I appreciate them making the 844 more attractive than the 843, and hope they continue this trend with new models.

A pleasure to walk in - Having had a recent heel stress fracture and plantar fasciitis I have tried many walking shoes without much success until I found the New Balance 844. It is very comfortable with a roomy toe area without being too wide and the arch support seems to be in the right place for my foot-many brands seemed to be too close to the heel. Will buy again.

Great New Balance walking shoe - I ordered the NB WW844 two days before my husband and I were walking in a 10K event. Thanks to Zappos, they arrived just in time. Despite being brand new with no breaking in time, they were perfectly comfortable and a great fit. I need a shoe with a wide toe box and a narrow heel which is hard to find, but these are just right. My husband said they look a little like short boats, but who cares? They feel great! I got them in white and they don’t have much other color, just a little blue.

An old friend - I have worn-out several pairs of these over the years. They are my preferred walking shoe for keeping my huskies in shape. I have learned that New Balance tends to run a tad small, so I order up a half size. This pair is D width, but I probably could have been OK with B. Excellent arch support and padding around the ankles.

New Balance Higher Number Shoes - I have been treating for shin splints for a couple months and these shoes are the perfect combination of cushiness and stability. They allow room for my orthotics as well.

NB 844 - I have had plantar fasciitis and have put in an additional NB insole. Works great!! I would recommend this tried and true walker.

Good from the beginning - I have purchased these exact shoes at a New Balance store so I was familiar with the style. I walk a lot and these are so cushy and comfy, right from the beginning. As long as this shoe is available, it is my walking shoe of choice. As to looks, it's a utilitarian shoe- looks like any other athletic shoe.

Good cushioning - I ordered the WW844. I also ordered the #792, as the #791 wasn't available. As it turns out the 844 was a lot more comfortable for me. It has good cushioning and with high arches and a history of plantar fasciitis, this is important. I ordered a half size larger.

I walk approx. 3 miles every day. Outside most of the time but inside at the mall when it is snowy or icy. This is my favorite walking shoe. I also use it for just shopping and doing errands.

Ready to walk - My New Balance WW844, are just great. The fit for my narrow feet,11n is just right. I was able to walk around all day at Disney World and did not have any feet pain, toe problems. Very pleased with the shoes.

Walker - I recently had foot surgery and had to wear a good walking shoe for months afterwards, this one worked great! I also walk every morning and with this walking shoe it's a pleasure.

This shoe is awesome! They fit perfect from the first time you put them on. The ankle support is great. I can wear them all day long and my feet don't ache at the end of the day.

Satisfied Repeat Buyer - This shoe is very comfortable. It is lightweight and my feet do not get too warm or sweat - even after a long day. There is plenty of cushion in the heel when walking. My first pair was the 843 and I have worn them through all weather - even snow - for the last few years and they are still in really good shape. Great shoe!!

I love these shoes! I have been following this particular design line for the past 5 years. They are always perfect - I've gotten used to buying them a half size larger.

New Balance WW844 - I love this shoe so much that I purchased 2 pairs. The shoe is very comfortable; it is a great walking shoe! My toes have room to spread out and at the same time I have tremendous support for my arch, heel and ankle. I definitely recommend this shoe for anyone with wide feet. I did have to order a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear.

Happy! I received my New Balance shoes and I was immediately very happy with them. I live in Manhattan, so I walk quite a bit.

Great shoes! I like these shoes so much that I actually bought them in black (for wintertime) and white "heel" off when removing them. They are also true fitting; a medium really fits a medium sized foot.

Fantastic shoe! I was originally fitted for these shoes at a New Balance store, and they are the most comfy shoes I have ever owned. On average, I walk on a treadmill 3-5 miles/day, 5-6 days a week. These shoes keep my feet in great condition.

Walking on a Cloud - Comfy, toe-wriggling room, supportive and cushiony. I love it!

Best shoe for plantar fasciitis - I have plantar fasciitis and since I did not want to give up walking, I have been looking for a shoe to help control the symptoms. I purchased a pair of Merrell's in November, but they did not do the trick. The NB 844 gives a lot of support, and I can do three miles with minimal pain. My PF has improved greatly since I started wearing this shoe while exercising. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who suffers from PF or needs extra support while walking.

Just what I needed! Love the shoes, love the ease of shipping, love the speed! I took the advice of other reviewers and got 1/2 size larger. They are perfect. They are a very supportive, walking shoe. Perfect for the baby boomers out there like me! :-)

COMFORT!!! Love these shoes. No break in, lots of support & toe room. I wore these on a mall 5k the day after they arrived & I know they improved my time. They are a great shoe, but not much for looks. They are indeed a "working" shoe.
