I normally wear a 5.0, but ordered a 5.5 based on reviews that these run small. The 5.5 were still so tight they made my feet numb just sitting on the couch! Had to return them, so I have no idea how they perform.

I had to exchange these shoes for a half size larger. Zaqppos were so good about accommodating. I have had much luck and comfort with Keen shoes, so I didn't consider another brand.

Great shoes, comfortable, good support. No need to break-in. Toe box is slightly wider than other shoes tried and this is what I wanted. Room for thicker socks.

I ordered this because it was supposed to be a waterproof version of the Keen Voyageur Mid, and I love the Voyageur. The foot fit just about right, but the ankle has an additional seam, and it hit my ankle in just the wrong spot. I could tell that if I wore it for more than a few minutes I would have bruising.

I bought these boots because I was looking for a hiking boot with better ankle support than my Merrells and I really liked the way they looked. I'm normally a 7 but after reading the reviews, I decided to get a 7.5. They fit well when I got them but I was still wary only because I originally bought my older Merrells in a 7 then had an awful hiking trip experience with them because they were too small. So I decided to exchange these Keens for an 8 so I could try on both and be sure. After feeling the 8s, which were much too large, I knew the 7.5s were perfect, and they still had some comfortable wiggle room. I wore these boots, for the first time, over the weekend in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky. They were really comfortable and didn't require any breaking in. The ankle and arch support were really nice. The only thing I was slightly disappointed about at first is that the brown color of the boot (Shitake/Blue Spruce) is darker than what it looks in the pic but I still like it a lot.

I have never bought shoes offline and was wary about doing so. However, this boots are absolutely incredible! I usually wear a 9 or so, but went with a half size up and they fit great with some thick socks. Just a little big if I'm wearing thin socks but the ankle support is fantastic and the boots needed no breaking in. A week after I got them I was out in Colorado hiking Mount Quandry. They felt like I had been hiking in them for years. I needed a waterproof hiking boot and I have finally found one!

I've been searching for a comfortable pair of hiking boots for several years now with no success. Came across the Targhee II and after reading all the great reviews decided to give them a try. At last success. No painful breaking in period as they felt great first time out. I was so excited to finally find a hiking boot that gave my foot some room and my ankles just the right support, I went back and bought two more pair of the exact same style. They feel so good I wear them everywhere now. Thank you Keen!

I love my boots. I recently started to walk trails and wanted a boot that was stable and waterproof that also fits my orthotics. After reading the reviews I decided on the Keen Targhee II Mid. I did go up a half a size as suggested. No return here. Thanks Zappos!

I completed a 22 mile back-packing trip in these shoes, and considered marrying them by the time we were done. Two day trip, 11 miles both days, and by the end of each day I forgot they were on my feet they were that comfortable. Never once did my feet feel sore or uncomfortable. My feet felt like they could breathe and were the right temperature all day. Because I have a wide foot, I thoroughly appreciated the wide toe-box this shoe has. There was also no break-in period. Wore them fresh out of the box, and at the end of the trip had nothing that even resembled a blister or raw spot. At one point I literally had my entire foot submerged in a cold creek, and would have never known if I wasn't looking directly at my foot. Even a little later I had expected that my sock might be at least a little damp, but nope, not even a little, dry as a bone. I echo the other reviews and recommend you purchase a half size up. Overall, this shoe rocked and when the this pair kicks the bucket, I will happily buy another!

I have owned my pair of Keen Targhee II for going on five years - purchased from Zappos - and these boots are absolutely wonderful. I bought them for a few years of outdoor work I would be doing and they held up beautifully. They have been through sun, rain, snow, and sand, and helped me run chainsaws and rescue marine mammals while keeping my feet warm and safe. The wide toe box provides excellent comfort for all day wear, while being extremely well protected with the large rubber outsole that wraps around the toe. They can be laced to the base of the foot or all the way to the ankle, at which point tightening the laces activates the heel support structure that snuggly holds the foot in the shoe. Paired with wool socks, these make the ultimate all-around outdoors boot that also look great with a casual fleece and jeans.

I have had such great experience with Keens in the past that when it can time for some new hiking boots I was thrilled to see they offered boots, and stylish ones at that! The first hike I uses them was on a pretty intense hike over roots, water, rock scrambles and a good elevation gain and they did not let me down once. I was not foot sore at all and the boots gave great ankle support. The only thing I may change is getting an insole with a bit more support but I expected needing that on longer hikes.

I bought these at the last minute, based on the amazing reviews below, and I've got to say - they were everything promised and more! I ordered 1/2 a size up from my usual size, and they fit great - on our 13 hour hike up/down Mt. Fuji, my feet were about the only thing I wasn't complaining about. They provided great ankle and arch support, and the perfect amount of traction. I really can't recommend these boots enough!

Best boot purchase yet! I have "well used" feet, and comfort was a must. These feel wider than an ordinary shoe or boot-I also have wide feet. Good support for the entire foot, and lacing up feels like the boot actually hugs your foot. Feels so good. :) I sat in my living room watching Parks and Recs while wearing. Now I am going to go hikes these bluffs and see how they perform. :) Keep your feet healthy everyone!

I bought this boot to wear on a trip in October. I tried it on and it was okay, but felt wide on my foot. I ended up giving them to my daughter, who they fit perfectly, and buying a pair of Merrells, which fit me perfectly.

I must say first thing, these are one of the most comfortable hikers I have owned; right out of the box. Most take breaking in, but not these. As others had suggested I did order a 1/2 size larger and I'm glad I did. However; I took them on a camping vacation to hike the northern shore of Lake Superior in Ontario Canada which is very rocky. I found out these boots DO NOT have very good traction on wet rocky trails. My feet did stay completely dry in them, though! My suggestion to Keen would be to add a Vibram sole and I think they would be practically perfect.

Read the reviews and went with a 1/2 size bigger perfect fit when hiking. Takes no time to break them in and love that they are water proof. Totally worth the money!

Love these boots! Bought the Gargoyle/Jade Green and they are gorgeous. After reading reviews, I bought a half size up (I usually wear a 9.5 in Keen, and the 10 was perfect in this boot). I was able to hike in them out of the box with no break in period, and I spent 3 weeks in England traipsing around in the rain with happy dry feet the entire time. The only time my foot got a little wet was when I stepped in a puddle that went up to the lacing. Unfortunately, after only 2 weeks of wear, the black sole started peeling from bottom of the boots. Called Zappos, and they accepted my return. Love Zappos!

I originally wanted to get the shoes at REI, but they only had limited selection on colors, but Zappos had the color I liked. So for same price (without tax) I went ahead and bought it online. I ordered it on Friday and received it on Monday. Great service. I have only wore it once, so I cannot go in detail on how shoes fit me, regards to hiking yet. Will update after few hikes.

If you have wide feet, these are fabulous boots! I have a bunion on my right foot which has made it very difficult in the past to find boots that does not eventually cause pain! Not so with these boots. Right from the box they were comfortable enough to do a three mile hike over rough rocky granite terrain without a problem. I had ordered both a size 10 and 10½ after reading all the reviews saying to order up half a size, but I found the size 10s (my usual size) to be just right. I love my Keens!

Awesome boot! I love these from the moment I put them on. I have tiny feet, so I did order true to size. I think that they will be ok as I wear them as they are just so comfortable right off the bat. Love the color and style. Love the locking laces. Highly recommended!

I bought these boots to hike to the Kjeragboltn in Norway and they survived. The hike was not an easy one (going up granite faces, through snow and mud, climbing on rocks) and these were exactly what I needed. I felt they might have been a little too big, but I didn't have enough time to send them back for a smaller size. I came off the hike without any blisters or rubbed spots, which has not been the norm with my previous boots. Love them, and can't wait to get back on the trail!

I have issues with ball of foot pain and have learned that I need shoes with good arch support that also allow my toes to spread naturally. These shoes are lightweight and very comfortable! I wear my hiking boots for both hiking and when I do more intense landscaping and I am very happy with these shoes. The only critique is that the top of the shoes do rub against my ankle slightly, but I like the support there and it has not been a problem. It is just something to be aware of when purchasing.
