Great shoes - Had the 991's. Loved them. Also like the new generation 992's.

Fitness Trainer - I have been practicing musculoskeletal weight resistance exercise therapy for 30 years. I have been exclusively wearing the New Balance 992 and its predecessors (990 & 991) since the early 1980's. It is the superior athletic shoe and I will wear nothing else in the athletic context. I highly recommend it to all of my clients. It is the best shoe available anywhere at any price.

I can't say enough about the fast, efficient service at Zappos. My son went to teach tennis at a camp in North Carolina and called me to tell me he needed these shoes ASAP! He had emailed me another shoe store's website but it was going to be 10 days before they could ship the shoes. I went to my reliable Zappos website late on a Saturday evening. He was wearing the shoes soon after. Zappos service is fantastic! My son loves the shoe. Apparently, it is very popular with the college crowd at this camp.

Dick's Shoes - My husband has problem with his feet and balance. This is the only comfortable shoe he can find and the 5th pair of M991/M992 shoes he has bought! I hope New Balance offers them for a long time.

Very comfortable shoe! I have purchased many, many pairs of Model 991 and had misgivings about changing but had to, due to the phase-out of Model 991. The 992's are even better! They feel broken in already, without the initial tightness of the 991. They have more arch and instep support, and look great! I like the stronger heel cladding as well. This is a very good shoe for a big man with wide feet who works out, pedals or runs. These will also be my daily footwear when appropriate. Buy with confidence.

Zappos and New Balance come through again - These shoes are a consistent favorite. My hubby wears them to work on concrete floors all day and they help his feet stay healthy and happy. Zappos is the awesome supplier of all our shoe needs! They always come through so quickly and efficiently!

Very Comfortable & Cushioned Shoe - After trying numerous shoes I finally found a winner!! Thanks Zappos for your free shipping both ways & for your patience! I'm really hard to fit due to big fat Fred Flinstone feet on a woman along with back problems & some foot problems of flat arches & over-pronation. My podiatrist told me to get a well cushioned shoe with no motion stability, & that's what these shoes are, PERFECT!! Very well cushioned & supportive. I had to replace the insole with an orthotic, but other than that I couldn't ask for a better shoe. Now I hope they keep making this style. I also hope I can find something similar in leather for this winter because with all of that mesh I don't think they'll be very warm, but for now they make a great walking shoe.

The perfect walking shoe - A year ago I bought a pair of New Balance M991's to use strictly for walking, and was very pleased with the comfort and quality except that the shoes in my size (7.5D) seemed a little narrow/cramped in the midfoot area. These new M992's fit perfectly and offer the same comfort, support and quality of the 991's. As with previous models, these shoes are heavy and rather firm in the sole padding, which is fine for walking, but I'd never want to use them for running. My previous pair of 991's have stood up very well, except for the cheap insert, and I'd expect the same from the 992's. For real running, I'm strictly an ASICS Kayano devotee.

Great Shoes For The Gym - These are the best New Balance shoes by far to wear around the gym. They are wide enough so that I can actually have the laces tied while I work out. They look great. They feel great. They smell great (so far)!

NB M992 - I am a long time user of NB running shoes. I have had some foot problems recently so I was especially interested in foot stability and cushioning. The M992 provides that. This model carries on the quality I have learned to expect from NB.

M992 - perfect replacement for 991 - New Balance is my choice for running & walking shoes in narrow width - I've had many pairs and now wear the 992 for treadmill and running. They seem a bit lighter than the 991s that are being phased out, and are well made in every respect. It's a great combination - New Balance and Zappos. I'll be back for more!

New Balance Review - Shoes were as they were in the store. Tried them on in a store and thought I could get them a lot cheaper from you. But they didn't have the color I wanted. So instead of riding all over town, I went online and ordered. Not my first time with you. Always had great service. I liked the fact that you sent them next day for free. I was going out of time before the slow order would arrive.

Great shoe for bigger runners/walkers - The shoe is great. The reason for the four stars on comfort is because I'm still trying out the proper socks to go with the shoe. I could use some advice here. I've used cushioned socks and so far they seem to give a little more of a snug fit for me. I often use the shoes for work. The dark color goes well on casual Friday’s with khaki's or jeans. I'm just now starting a running program to lose weight. So far the shoes are holding up great considering they're supporting and cushioning the pounding of a 270 pound man...

Happy Feet! I haven't bought a tennis shoe in over a year and a half. I can truly say that Zappos did not disappoint me when I finally chose once again to embark on this endeavor. My shipment was fast and the shoes fit just right. I only buy the NB line of shoes. The M992 is by far the best shoe in the series that I have tried thus far. I feel my shoe is a little unique in its color. Usually all I see are the monotone shoe color in the 991-992 series. Thank you for giving me options Zappos. You are one of a kind!

Cooler Looking Than Most New Balance - My son often has to buy dorky looking shoes because so few styles come in his size (12 1/2 4E). He loved the comfort and the looks of this shoe! His only complaint is that after wearing them for a few weeks, the heel area is lumpy and distorted, so they are not as comfortable as they used to be. My advice is to be careful and unlace the shoes when putting them on, don't just jam your feet into them because the heels won't hold up well that way.

Excellent update of a classic shoe! I used to have the 991s but when the gym odor absolutely refused to leave the shoes (after they provided several years of dedicated service) I had to upgrade. These are a worthy successor, with a slightly more modern design that still has the clean, flexible look of the original. These go great with jeans, workout gear, or shorts. Comfort is on par with the 991s, perhaps even with slighter better cushioning. Overall these are excellent sneakers that will not disappoint. If you want the performance/comfort of a top-quality athletic shoe wrapped in a sexy, fashion-friendly package that works with any jean... you can't go wrong with the gray 992s.

Each new edition gets better - Starting with the 990 model, each upgrade has brought improvements to an already perfect shoe. I can wear this shoe for a 5 mile run and never the need to stop because of my feet. I thought the 991 couldn't be improved upon, but I was pleasantly surprised. I go thru 2 pairs a year and never regret the purchase.

Love this shoe - I went 1/2 size larger based on my experience with the 574 and 991. But this shoe is perfect, perfect, perfect. Extreme comfort and very "cool" in the gray.

992 - The black 992 are awesome. They are comfortable and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thanks Zappos for such fast shipping, you guys are great with that.
