Cool- They are awesome. I got them for my boyfriend for V-day and he wears them like everyday. I ordered the gray ones because they match everything. The delivery was right on time too. I ordered on Thursday and did two day air I believe. And received them on Monday. Awesome. Thanks.

Great Shoes- They run slightly large. Besides that, they're great. Comfortable, good looking shoes.

Just great shoes - Feel great and look great. My husband loves them.

So far this replaced the one my husband had worn for years and it seems to be just as good as the old one.

They are more durable than the 991. I don't like the metal grommets for the upper laces, but that's not a big deal. They are still comfortable, but there is a weird ridge under the toes, sort of like in Birkenstocks. I thought I would hate it, but I stopped noticing it after a couple of days. Basically, these shoes still look great and are extremely comfortable. Since the 991's are hard to find in a lot of sizes anymore, you might as well buy these.

Great walking shoe- Prior to trying out this 992 shoe, I had tried out several of the NB shoes and found that since 2 years ago when I purchased my previous pair, the store sizes for "D" no longer fit me comfortably. Whether my foot got fatter or the shoes got narrower didn't matter. The fact is I seem to need the next wider model..."2E". Naturally, no stores in my area carry this width in the 992. So, I ordered for the first time from Zappos. I could NOT have been happier with the Zappos experience. THE BEST! I must point out though that this 992 fits absolutely true to size. I probably should have tried the "D" size in this shoe because the "2E" is almost too wide. Thankfully, I usually wear extra thick socks making up the difference. You'll find the 992 is a bit wider across the toe area making it VERY comfortable. While it has adequate arch support for walking, I don't think this would be my choice for running. Also, the top being mostly cloth and not leather breathes well. I like this shoe very much.

More of a casual than a runner - I've found this to be a better casual/walking shoe than a running shoe. I was a bit disappointed in the cosmetic quality. The top mesh formed a hole near the stitching after maybe 6-8 months. I'm shopping for new shoes now and probably won't repurchase. That doesn't mean this is a bad shoe, I just want more comfort on longer runs.

After reading the reviews I thought I'd try the M992 for my high maintenance, long, narrow, flat feet. They are not as comfortable as I was hoping, but my heel spur is not complaining, and after inserting gel cushions the shoes feel less wide. New Balance seems to know the exact places on my foot that are irritated by stitching and makes sure to double stitch (without padding) in those areas. A few adhesive cushions here and there and I'm good to go. I've worn them outside now, so I guess they're keepers.

"Vacation Foot Syndrome" Saver - At 5'8", 250 pounds, I know that a vacation is going to be a real foot killer for me. Suddenly walking all over the place trying to do and see everything my meager vacation time will allow, is going to cause heel pain, tenderness and ache in the balls of my feet and possibly even small stress fractures and micro tears in foot tendons and ligaments. I ordered the 992 after hearing a lot of good things about it and also seeing that in a poll of like a thousand regular walkers, the 992 (then the 990) was the favorite. We were preparing to go on vacation and I knew I'd be walking far more than I would normally. My feet did still hurt on vacation. I'm way overweight with the poor muscle mass to go with it so no surprises there but the 992 was more comfortable than any other I've tried and it provided great support. I never rolled a food while turning fast or had to quit for the day because of sore feet. The biggest surprise was when my feet felt totally normal again the second day I was home from vacation. That's about two weeks faster than any other shoe. Definitely worth the price and I received the famed Zappos service in that they upgraded my shipping from the 3 day service I ordered, to next day service. The shoes arrived the day after I ordered and were perfectly packed and boxed and looked great.

New Balance 992 - I always order a size 8D in all my New Balance shoes. The 992's fit perfectly in length and width, but these shoes have a moderate arch support compared to my last few pairs of New Balance running/trail shoes. The 992's are very light in weight, but pretty heavy on the wallet. All of this sums up to my 4 star rating.

Almost Perfect - This is a great walking/running shoe. I do a high speed walk on a treadmill with a steep incline. The shoe actually is comfortable and absorbs whatever shock I might feel with the foot hitting the treadmill. Only downside is the usual sneaker downside - the shoelaces are too long and unravel easily unless you're mindful of that.

New Balance M992 - Comfortable shoes for sure for walking and all around working in yard, etc. I don't run, so, I can't speak for that.

Narrow feet - I have narrow feet and this is the only shoe offered for narrow feet. Upsets me to see shoes listed as narrow only to find that they are B width.

Comfortable but not squishy - The one thing I found a little surprising about this shoe is that it is not as "squishy" as most full fledged running shoes I've had in the past. It still seems to give plenty of support and shock absorbency. I like this shoe and LOVE New Balance. I think all my athletic/casual shoes are now New Balance.

I find it very difficult to find a sneaker or shoe that is comfortable, due to my foot and ankle problems. Sorry, it's me, not the shoe.

Very decent shoe - I have owned several pairs of New Balance shoes over the years, mostly because I cannot find another shoe that fits my women’s 11 4E foot! I have always found the quality and durability of their shoes to be excellent and quite reliable. The M992 I initially ordered was extremely large, at least a size, maybe even 1 1/2 sizes too large. I compared them to my previous shoe and it was ridiculous how much bigger they were, even though they were the same size, in theory. So, I had to send them back and try a size smaller. The new shoes fit perfect and I am satisfied with how they feel and look. For some reason they do not feel as "cushioned" as other New Balance shoes I have owned. That is the only reason I give them a 4 instead of 5. But the support and feel of the shoe is still very good.

New Balance M992 appearance - These shoes feel great and have the stiffer soles that I wanted. However, I don't really like the appearance of the shoe. Not so much the color, but the overall shape is not appealing to me.

Classic - Great shoe for just walking around and keeping your feet comfortable. I like the classic look of the signature gray 992 which are my shoe of choice when I’m just going casual and wearing some jeans. I have done some light jogging with these but they are on the bulky side and I tend to think there are better options for that sort of thing. If you're just a casual walker or you just want something to keep you looking good and comfy on those weekend strolls go for the 992.

Sneaker width - I am an avid walker. When purchasing sneakers with a standard width often they are too tight in the front and fine in the rear. When I up size to EE the front is fine but the rear of the sneaker is too wide. I have an average foot not a wide by any means but the standard width on average is too tight.

Great Cushioning, runs a little roomy - So I needed to update from my New Balance 1066 and when I read the reviews on this shoe I thought it would be great. I'm very pleased with the cushioning and comfort. And it doesn't feel that heavy (at least for the somewhat casual runner) like some other people have said. But my NB 1066 at 10.5 and EE width felt MUCH more snug that my 992s with the same specs. If your foot is modestly wide, stick with the normal width.

NB M992 - The NB 991/992 brought blessed relief from the excruciating pain of plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. I much preferred the 991s as they were a better fit. Regrettably the 991s are discontinued. 992s run a full size smaller than marked. In both 991s and 992s the laces do not hold up to normal wear.

Great shock absorbent running shoe - I have an old ankle injury and pronate. I wanted a shoe that I could do some miles in without aggravating the old injury. So far the shoe seems great. It has absorb in the heel and front and the shoe is a much better shock absorber than my 3 yr old runners. For those lonely miles you pound out on the running machine or on the road after work, this seems the perfect shoe.

Three Half-Marathons Later - Got the first pair of m992 about two weeks before my first half-marathon and I've never looked back. Size is true but Right foot is slightly tighter than the left, but that could be me and my peculiar appendage. Did I mention that I'm over 200 pounds? These shoes don't mind the pounding. Also excellent "feel" for the roadway during last winter's rainy times. Run for your life! JJ

Great walking shoes - This is a great looking high quality sneaker which I use mainly for walking. The only problem that I had is that it runs a little narrow. It took me a week to break them in, they are still a little snug width-wise.
