Durable for running - I have run in nothing but New Balance for several years. This shoe is durable and comfortable. My only complaint is that the cushioning for the bottom of the foot could be softer. They last and last.

Good shoe - I've always liked New Balance athletic shoes. This pair is no exception. Despite this, I think practically all athletic shoe makers could easily add more "cushion" in the sole than what they usually do. Nonetheless, this is a well made and comfortable pair.

New Balance 992 - This shoe has good support. I have a very narrow foot and this one comes in AA width. It is cut a little fuller on top than I like so the laces are a little closer together than other NB shoes I own. I have put a felt tongue pad in and that takes up some space. Overall shoe is a good quality USA made shoe. This is my second pair of these. The customer service reps at Zappos are the best in the business! Their 110% price protection is true. They match any competitor’s price plus an additional 10%.I also got free overnight shipping plus free return shipping on the pair I sent back for this width. Zappos is the best period!

Great Shoe - I got these shoes for walking and they are great. They are made out of materials that bend well when you walk and are very comfortable.

Really cool - This N/B M992 is the best of all I tried. Meaning everything look, comfort, fashion, all ...I'll say it rocks!

New Balance M992 - Overall, I value this footwear. Great support and cushioning. I actually prefer the styling of the predecessor M991, but the M992 is a quality shoe.

Great - Those are great for the gym and I need support especially when I do my leg workouts.

New Balance Revisited. I am disappointed in the cushioning in the toe box area. The looks are dated and the insert is terrible. I don't think the shoe is worth the money. With custom orthodics I had to buy a half size larger.

M992 review - good shoes - Good shoes. I have walked on the treadmill several times since I got them. Not as padded as I would have liked. Fits OK. No problems.

Lou from New Jersey- I found these shoes to be a size wider than normal. I have the New Balance 991 in size 8D. All of my previous New Balance’s were the same size 8D except for the 992 which ran wider. I had to get a size 8B. If it wasn't for that they would be 5 stars because New Balance is a great shoe.

A shame... These are built just as well as 990/991, but the heel is too high and way too firm. Also, the sizing is WAY off on these. A full size larger and a full width wider than the previous model at a given size easily.

Not what I expected - I needed to order one size wider than normal to get shoes that fit, which is a first for me. They really aren't very comfortable, my heels get sore first, then the rest of my feet. I might try to replace the insole. Also, the bottoms of my feet are always damp at the end of the day. I've never had this happen with other shoes, maybe these aren't vented very well or the insole is different. My feet will actually be wet if I ever walk on wet pavement. I don't even need to be walking through puddles or snow for this to happen. I'll probably buy some different shoes for everyday wearing.

FYI : NO ARCH SUPPORT - This is exactly same shoe as woman’s 'W992' which I will send back asap, as I have an arch in my narrow foot, but the reviews saying there is 'moderate' to 'very good' arch support - are comments that must have been made by customers with very flat, wide feet. *This shoe seems like is made to accommodate a custom orthotic.* This 992 shoe has a perfectly flat insole, with absolutely no arch at all, with a wide instep, even in size narrow. People who feel that a 3/16th" padded throw-away insert, which has *no* contour except for the little instep wedge (about 1/2" high, 3/4" across, like every NB insole) serves to fill the little space between the wall of the shoe and their own 3/4"-width instep, may feel the insert gives them a "moderate arch support." For about $5 a similar insole can be purchased, at the grocery store. Someone who removes the insert to use a custom orthotic should like this shoe's lack of arch very much. Someone who may have flat feet might feel like the insert has "support" at the instep. I would gently suggest that when customer's kindly leave feedback about the fit of a shoe, that for the sake of reference, they might assist the reader by saying if they have flat feet, or a high arch, or a narrow foot, or a 'fat' foot. If someone gives a review without any point of reference, the information means little, sometimes, so I learned. Thanks, Zappos, for your very easy return policy, if Zappos could only exchange my feet for a more normal size (women’s' 12.5 narrow doesn't exist in any women's shoe, which is why I am reviewing on a men's shoes, because of available 11.5 narrow.) Very grateful for Zappos' excellent customer service.

Great shoes - This shoe looks great and is very comfortable.

I have a narrow foot and even a B was much too wide in the heel cup whereas other shoes (including Nike and Adidas) fit well.

Heel is narrow - This shoe needs to be broken in. The heel is narrow and crimps my foot. It will take 10 running sessions -- about 30 miles for me -- to loosen up the shoe.

A Little Hard - I was happy with these 'till I started walking in them and found the sole to be a little hard and inflexible. After walking the bottom of my feet hurt as the soles offer so much resistance.

Not as good as 991 - I am 6'6" and did a lot of running with the 991's. Then bought a pair of 992's and they are not nearly as good. They are bigger and feel much sloppier.

Not as good as 991 : ( In my opinion, the 992 just isn't as good as the 991. The support just isn't as good and the shoe seems lighter than the 991, in a bad way. Recently I've been having some foot problems. I think it is because I've been using the 992's for jogging. I dug out my old and worn out 991's from the closet and started wearing them instead. My feet have been doing better. Hmm. I really wanted to like this shoe. I wish NB didn't discontinue the 991. Why mess with perfection?

A little too firm - I bought this shoe with a firm ride in mind along with the thought that changing things up might help problems that I have been having with my Achilles tendons. Unfortunately, the ride of these shoes is so firm that my knees and hips hurt after the maiden run. They initially felt comfortable for walking. And I may be forced to use them that way since I will not be running in them any more. They are attractive though.

I have been a New Balance wearer for over 20 years. This shoe is a big disappointment and not worth the money. I've run about 15 miles in them and they just don't have the support, cushioning and comfort of past models.

Love the Shoe - Hate Hate The Fit - I have been a big buyer of New Balance 991 shoes in the past few years(4 pairs). I am disappointed that the fit of the M992 shoe did not meet my expectations. When I compared the M992 to other pairs of M991shoes that I owned there was an obvious discrepancy. I had even called Zappos prior to buying this shoe and was advised to get the same size.

I hope you like puke lime green. I love Zappos, don’t get me wrong. These shoes did disappoint. The pictures displayed do not accurately reflect how awful the lime green puke colored heel is. Also, I know I wear a size 10 and these were a bit large.

Killing my feet!! After having worn this shoe's precursors for over a decade, I thought it would be automatic. However, for whatever reason, this shoe fits nothing like the 990's that I replaced. Gave my feet all sorts of grief. This shoe is not sized right. Construction is still excellent, and perhaps if you pay close attention and get ones that fit, they will work, but watch out!! The old model was way better.
