Disappointed - I have purchased New Balance walking shoes and was satisfied with them. I thought NB running shoes would be as good or better, because of the ability to absorb impact. This shoe was a total flop. I put them on and took a walk, and it was like walking on a metal grate in stockinged feet. In order for me to use them, I had to use an insert from another pair of shoes to make walking bearably painful.

Reviewing the M992 New Balance running shoe. This shoe is true to size as the 990 series. I’ve worn the 990's every day for 2 years and they still have plenty life left in them. These M992's appears to be just a little better constructed than the previous 990's. This is what you would expect from New Balance. I highly recommend these shoes for walking, running or working in conditions where you have to stand for long periods of time.

Big disappointment - I am a big fan of the New Balance 99x series, but I was very disappointed by the 992. The sole is very hard. The NB 991 was a great running shoe. The NB 992 is not.
