Lacks Arch Support. I run, and when I walk, I want my feet relaxed with good arch support. New Balance running shoes that I have bought for the last five years have provided good arch support. I was very disappointed that their walking shoe did not provide the same kind of support!

A good shoe - I had wanted a brown shoe with the velcro closers but New Balance doesn't make them so I got this pair. I haven't had much chance to wear them, but, so far, they are very good, like the several other New Balance shoes I've had (6 pairs right now models 811,574, the latter being noticeably less desirable). They are comfortable, long wearing, and decent looking. Not for black tie affairs, but very OK for office casual, church, and such use, not to mention walking in the outdoors and so forth. I'll buy more. My size: 8 4E.

Pitboss shoes - I bought these shoes for work. They are more comfortable than most dress shoes, but not as comfortable as most cross trainers. Overall a good shoe

High quality-very comfortable but too boxy - The shoes are very comfortable and can actually be worn to the office on occasion. But they are very boxy. I prefer a more pointed toe.

Perfect if you're on your feet a lot. I bought this shoe for work because I needed something that didn't resemble an athletic shoe but had all the benefits. New Balance always fits perfectly and makes the most durable shoes I can find. The visual design is usually outstanding, too. This shoe is really great but doesn't look as good in person as in the ad. It also seems wider than typical shoes by this brand. I would recommend getting a slimmer shoe. For example, I wear a 4E in NB running shoes and think I should have gotten a 3E in this case. However, I didn't think it was so wide that I needed to send it back.

Not as comfortable as the MW925 - I had bought the MW925 two years in a row, and decided to try the MW901 because it looked more like a shoe. It just isn't as comfortable as the MW925. They feel a little tighter, although they were the same size as the MW925.

New Balance Reliability - This shoe actually felt a little roomier than I expected for a casual/sport shoe. It is a good hybrid of both. It is kind of like a Sketcher product without all the stripes and markings, which is perfect for work. This is the shoe I would travel with and I've made it work with jeans and dress pants. A little more cushioning and you could jog in it.

Good Shoe - I looked at several shoes after finding that the Dunham Brattleboro 4-eye was not available in my size anymore (why would they stop making such a good shoe?). This was the only shoe that looked decent and fit comfortably. All of the other shoes either cut into my ankle or had no support. After several full days of wearing, I'm very satisfied with the fit and comfort. I hope they are as durable as the Dunham Brattleboro 4-eye shoes they are replacing

Way TOO small - The shoe looked great and probably would've been great but no larger size was available. But Zappos return process was a breeze!

Good work shoe - Pretty good shoe for an "on your feet all day" type activity. Has more of a firm, rather than a cushion type feel. Very lightweight. As correctly described on the product page the 'last' used has a larger toe area while keeping the heel fairly snug which is what I needed.

Overall, I am pleased with the shoes. However, they are a little too dressy for blue jeans. Maybe they will look more appropriate when the shine wears off. Soles seam a little harder than I expected.

Less than expected - I have worn New Balance shoes for years.I started because they were made in the U.S. I continued buy them because of their quality and fit. I was expecting the MW 901 to have more cushion and a better arch,this was disapointing.It won't keep me from buying another pair of NB, just a different style...

One my feet 9 hours per day - I tried these because the Dunham Brattleboro 4 Eye (Zappos SKU #7211522) wasn't available in my size. They are roomy and quiet. They are well padded, but not squishy. These shoes ARE comfortable, but the looks are off. My kids call them "daddy's clown shoes" because they are kind of square and blocky. I do like these, but when the Dunham's become available again, I'm going back.

NB 901's - Choose these shoes for comfort and that they half way look like dress shoes from the front. They are boxy looking, But they can be shined. And that's what the corporate bozo's insist upon. Note: I have worn various NB models in 10-4E but I had to drop to 2E on these.

Good shoes for the money- I found these shoes to be just as advertised- comfortable, wide enough for me and a light walking shoe. I am glad that I got them. Finding anything wide enough that looks good, is light and is comfortable is a challenge for me.

NB MW901 - I have heel problems and was hoping for a softer heel. The lace portion of the shoe is also a little tight.

I like New Balance so I tried their shoe which is not as comfortable as their sneakers. The shoe is a little too big in the heel and I am trying to find some heel spacers to paste in or perhaps the ones I can add to the tongue to help make it fit better.

Very comfortable, but... It seems like they used the cheapest leather they could find for these shoes. Honestly it looks like something from a retail store. Not the quality I would expect having paid such a premium price.

Tough Critic - 3 challenges for this shoe. Needs softer leather, full time absorb in heel and there is a choke point that prevents opening shoes enough to accommodate crew socks. Having said that, these are one of the few leather shoes that I can wear, because of gout. I have not worn anything other than New Balance for more than ten years. Zappos is great! Lowest price and fast, free delivery.

Comfy, but not durable - I own a lot of New Balance shoes and really like them for their look and comfort, but this shoe's sole started falling off only after 2 weeks of use! It is surprising and disappointing, given NB's reputation. But Zappos' great return policy has proven to be very helpful. Thanks Zappos!

Comfy but a bit narrow- Not a bad shoe overall, but I found them to be a bit on the narrow side. No matter how loose I tied them, across the laces squeezed the top of my foot. They are a little strange looking with a toe that's slightly pointed upwards almost like a clown-shoe. I'm going to try again with the next higher width size and see how it goes.

Can't remember the last pair of shoes that felt this bad. Bought new inserts from the company and feet still ache. Could be a good shoe if you don't have to walk too much but I have to put two, six mile days a week in. Have to find another shoe before next Saturday.
