Do not buy these shoes three sizes smaller than your normal size unless your big toe is at least a quarter inch smaller than the second toe. If your big toe is the same size as your second toe, buy these shoes two sizes smaller than normal. I use these for a ballet barre class. These are not good shoes for walking around the house.

Runs large. I ordered one full size smaller than street shoe size and it is still almost a full size larger than I need.

I am a size 40 eur...9 or 9.5 us. I ordered a 7 and they were perfect! Time to dance!

This is not your traditional shoe. It's a dance shoe that can be worn as a very casual style slipper. There is no arch support and by it's very construction is not comfortable. That said, I love wearing mine as an indoor shoe. You'll need to order at least a full size or so smaller for a traditional fit. Remember, it's a ballet/dance shoe. Hope that helped a little.

I use these for Pilates and they're perfect. I wear a size 10 medium in shoes, and got the 8 medium. Ideal fit for my purposes. And as usual, Zappos went above and beyond with customer service in tracking and quickly replacing my order when the first shipment was waylayed by the shipper. Wonderful shoe, outstanding customer service.

Pink Ballet shoes for a 50+ year old! The shoes are perfect for me getting back into the dance mode. Ordering 2 sizes smaller than my regular shoe size worked best for me. The shoes are very comfortable and appear to be well made. I prefer the full sole as they feel better under the foot more natural.

Cute slippers - I ordered this for a house shoe. I would suggest that you order a half size larger than the recommended sizing, unless you don't mind the shoe being a little small until it breaks in. I feel that a good shoe should not have to be broken in if its the right fit.

Great shoes - These are a great dance shoe but fit is key, for my daughter we went up a half size from her street shoe size(in girls sizes). They have been a great shoe and have lasted her all year. Very durable. I can't believe they are as expensive as they are on this web site. I purchased mine at a dance retail store for less plus a discount was offered for dancers. I would definetely recommend shopping at a dance retailer to buy shoes since the fit for dance shoes is so important. A correctly fit dance shoe can make a huge difference!

Great shoes for dance class, good multi-purpose shoe - The key to making this shoe work is in the fit. In this case, to get the right size means ordering 3 sizes smaller than one's normal street shoe size. As comfy as they are, I would not really recommend these for doing housework - (I have been dancing over 20 years). The person who gave these ballet slippers a bad review should re-try them in a dance environment in the proper size and see how the shoes work. Thanks Zappos, keep up the great work!

Not really pleased. Bought these as an alternative to all the "fake" ballet flats out there, thought they'd be comfy around the house. Bought two pairs trying to find the right size, and I don't think either really fits me right. Either that or ballet shoes are simply not meant for pleasure!

Elastic over arch is very tight--otherwise slippers are exactly like previous pair. They run large--size 5.5 B fits my 7-7.5 foot. Believe the sizing notes!

The description for this shoe sizing states: "Fits true to size for most. Consider a 1/2 size up if you have wide feet or are between sizes." Thank goodness I didn't go by that info! Ordering up as suggested would have been far too large. You don't want a lot of extra toe room when it comes to a ballet slipper. I am so glad that I took the time to read many of the reviews and discovered that most people were ordering DOWN in size not up. I was also seeing that many reviews were mentioning that 1 1/2 to 3 sizes SMALLER than their regular shoe size were what fit best. Going by that info, I decided to order a size 7 since I wear an 8 1/2 or 9 in most shoes. They do fit good lengthwise from heel to toe although I probably could have gone with a B instead of C for the width. In my opinion they have sewn the elastic strap too far toward the heel end of the slipper so I might move it to the position I have always preferred when I was a dancer which is closer to the side/middle seam. Everything else is exactly what I would expect from a ballet slipper :-)

Unlike most of the other reviewers of this product, I found these ballet shoes to run true to size. In fact, I trust the Zappos reviewers so much that I didn't even purchase the shoes in my daughter's normal size, and in fact ordered 1 and 2 sizes down but was surprised when my daughter couldn't get them on her feet. So I went back & ordered her normal size and lo & behold, they fit. I'll still keep reading (and writing) reviews but just take note. Otherwise, the shoes are great. Exactly what you'd expect out of a dance shoe.

This was my first time ordering ballet shoes as I just started taking classes. I was trying to figure out what size to order and ended up ordering multiples because the site says go 2-3 sizes smaller, which is a huge range difference, and after reading a bunch of the comments, I was left even more confused, as people seemed to be all over the place with their size recommendations. Here's what I found: my normal shoe size is 9.5 for sandals, street ballet flats, dress shoes, moccasins, etc. My normal shoe size is 10 for gym shoes, dance shoes (Nike Musique for example), and boots. I ordered a 7, 7.5, and 8 in this style. The 8 is the one I am keeping. As an fyi, I also ordered some Capezio's in black, a 9.5 and a 10 and am keeping the 10. Hope this helps others trying to read through the load of bad info.

I' wear size 8. The size 6B was great for me. Got them just to wear around the house

Based on previous reveiw I ordered my true size, it was at least 1/2 size too large.

These arrived looking less than brand new. Also, it would be helpful if Zappos specified that they run 2 sizes larger than regular women's shoes.

I bought these for slippers and they are perfect. I usually wear 7.5 wide and ordered the 5.5 wide and they fit well.

My daughter wears a ladies size 5.5 in tennis shoes. I first tried a size 4B in ballet shoes, but they were too small. The 5.5B fit perfectly.

The slippers are perfect. I sized down to 6.5 from my normal 9, and they feel great. Carefully made, good stitching, soft leather. I wear them around the house, with thin socks or with tights for dance class.

Perfect size 3 ballet slippers for my daughter’s size 3 feet. I like the elastic bow on top and the fact that you can tighten the slipper with it if needed and it stays tied. Highly recommended.
