I couldn't find any decent ballet shoes for my beginner daughter in big kid sizes (she is 7yo and wears a size 3). I decided to try the woman's sizes and these came in a 3. I didn't order down and I'm glad because the 3 was a perfect fit. The quality is great and so is the price. I am one happy ballet momma!

I love them! Having been a dancer in my younger years I've really been missing it, so I decided to order a new pair of ballet slippers. I always bought Capezio slippers in the past, but when Zappos didn't have my size in those I decided to try the Bloch instead. My typical shoe site is a 7 1/2 or 8, average width, depending on how pointed the toe is. I ordered a 5B in these and they are perfect. The tops are a little wide until you adjust the drawstring, which is typical of ballet slippers. I am very pleased with them.

I use these as slippers in the house. We have wood floor and I feel like I just walk different in these vs. barefoot/socks. I find myself doing a little toe point while I'm cooking in the kitchen (though, I've never been a dancer, I do like to dance while I'm cooking!). Ordered down two sizes like everyone said to do. I have short boxy feet, so they are a little long, but plenty comfy.

These shoes are wonderful for house or dancing. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered size 7 and could have used a 7 1/2. My feet and ankles swell late in the day and a 7 1/2 would have been the best choice for me. The quality is excellent. I do some hard dancing on Saturday nights. I needed a shoe with a leather sole that would slide and couldn't find anything! These are perfect.

Much better fit for long narrow feet than other brands - I hadn't danced in 25+ years and wanted something simple for myself after my daughter began ballet classes. Size down 2.5 to 3 sizes from your dress shoe size. I am a 10 or 10.5 narrow and got these in 7.5 and 8 narrow to try both. I ended up keeping both--the smaller, snugger pair are best for dancing, but I use the slightly looser pair for yoga and pilates.

Comfy Shoe - I found the recommendation to order 3 sizes smaller to be true -- I was skeptical and only went down 2 and they're a little big. Plus, they are leather, they will stretch a bit.

Very strange fit... I went down two sizes as other reviewer’s recommended but that might have been too much. If I was going to order these shoes again, I would subtract 1 1/2. The fit was the strangest thing; they were tight in the toes but gaped out across the ball of my foot. I didn't see any way to make them work.

I wear a 6.5 average width street shoe; I ordered two sizes down (in my review I marked 'felt a full size larger than marked' because they are much larger than a marked 4.5 would normally be). The slipper fits my foot perfectly, but my heel comes down on the back edge of the suede sole when I stand. If I were wearing these as shoes, I would return for a half size up, but since I'm only using them for organ playing, they'll be fine; I'm afraid if I go up a half size, they'll be too long in the toe and drive me crazy. Love them, perfect for my needs. Hope this is helpful.

These are such nice feeling shoes! They are basic ballet shoes, with just enough to cover the foot. Soft, almost buttery leather that is not thin either. This is a size 5½ and my shoe size is a women's 8.

Very comfortable. Order two sizes down. I normally wear a 9 but ordered a 7. Fit perfectly.

These shoes were exactly what my daughter needed. They were comfortably and supported her the arch in her feet.

I usually wear a 6.5, and I ordered these in a 5B. The shoe fit extremely well, but the leather sole was a little short, so it came to mid-heel. I also ordered these in black in a size 5.5B, and they were absolutely perfect. With the elastic laces, they were adjustable to provide a snug fit for bellydancing. I'm ordering another pair for tai chi. As for rating the sizing, it's hard as you also have to consider the manufacturer's recommendations. For me, 1 full size smaller than normal was perfect.

I purchased these for my 11 year old daughter. She is between sizes so I wasn't sure what to order. I ordered a couple sizes to make sure we got the right fit. As always, Zappos made the process easy and convenient with their return policy and my daughter is thrilled with her shoes. I order from Zappos regularly and love their service.

Good basic dance shoe. For best fit order 3 sizes down from regular shoe size.

Serves my purpose - I'm wearing these shoes for my wedding - I'm taller than my fiancé and didn't want to add any height, plus I wanted something comfortable. These ballet slippers fit the bill. My only complaint is that they are pretty wide around the top - I had to really tighten up the drawstrings to make them fit. I wouldn't be able to wear them for serious dancing due to that issue, but they'll be fine for the wedding.

I followed the advice on sizing and ordered two sizes smaller. The fit was perfect. I ordered the slippers for an adult ballet class and I am very happy with my purchase.

Feel like a kid again! I purchased these to wear around the house and I think they're great! I could have ordered a size smaller than I did, so if you're on the fence, go a size down.

Dancing - I had a really hard time trying to find a dance shoe with an E width. I bought a couple and this Bloch was the only brand that came close to fitting. It is still a little tight where the stitching is, but overall, I am very pleased. I would recommend this brand to anyone. Now, if I could just fine jazz shoes in an E width, I would be in heaven.

Good cheap dance shoe - I usually wear a 7.5 street shoe, but ordered a 6.5 and it fit pretty good. I could actually gone down to a 6 because it is leather and will stretch, plus dance slippers should fit very snug...but I wanted a little extra wiggle room in the toes, so I kept them. Not sure how they will last, but for now they are great.

Excellent Choice - I've only recently started taking dance classes and these shoes have been a great buy. I love that Zappos offers a wide selection in wide shoes. Elastic lace allows you to make sure the shoe fits snuggly without coming off or being too tight. Would buy again.

These shoes run true to size as far as Bloch is concerned. You need to go one size smaller than street shoe. I would go with a normal width even though you might have a wide foot because they stretch. I find them durable and comfortable as well.
