This is my third pair of Brooks shoes. I am a mail carrier and on my feet all day. I also use orthotics. These shoes provide support and comfort the whole day.

Comfy but Clunky -
I used to wear New Balance (size is the same in Brooks 6.5 W)---they were great at the time but my feet have developed new problems so my podiatrist had me switch to Brooks. I own the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 W and the Brooks Synergy 2. I am not a runner but I like wearing the Adrenaline in the summer 'cause it's so light weight and "airy". This Addiction Walker is a comfy shoe but looks and feels much clunkier than the Synergy, which seems to mold to my foot shape better. When this pair wears out, I plan to return to the Synergy. Of course I wear custom orthotics in all walking shoes so my comment on the arch support doesn't really apply.

Sue E -
I wear a full orthotic and it fits nicely in this shoe. It gives me the room and depth I need. I have a thin foot but have bunions and need the width for comfort. I would also recommend the Addiction Running shoe. I'm now on my 2nd pair of them.

Homely comfort -
I have high arches so need a good supportive shoe. It looks like more of a man's shoe, but paired with jeans its fine for women. I stand/walk most of the day, and this is a good supportive shoe. My feet feel fine at the end of the day.

Good shoe overall. Great side support. Plenty of room for my orthotics but not as much cushion as some of their other styles.

Great shock absorption; short laces!
The mighty, springy soles of these shoes seem to make the pavement disappear ... great for saving wear and tear on my raggedy, 52-year-old knees when I'm running to make the train in the morning. You really feel "propelled along." The interior comfort is okay -- but made 50% more comfortable with the insertion of my trusty "2-oz Miracles," the fake orthotics sold in most drugstores' footcare depts.
These shoes do not make my big size 9-1/2 feet look too immense.
Main (only) complaint: as noted by other reviewers, the laces are too damned short!

Still undecided -
I bought these shoes because I was looking for a comfortable, black walking shoe. I am still undecided about them and have just worn them around the house, so they haven't had a real outdoor trial, as yet.

Ugly, but soo comfortable -
I love these shoes; they aren't that good looking, but they sure are comfortable. I have severe foot pain unless I use my medical inserts and buy shoes that give stability to my feet. Most of the time, these shoes do that. Other than their looks, the only complaint I have is they are hard to get on, probably because they are lace-up.

Very comfortable. no break in time needed. Orthotic fit well. I am on my feet 9 hrs every day, then come home and walk for exercise. Great shoes. looking forward to ordering the addiction runner when I am back to running.

Great Arch Support -
I tried many shoes (mostly New Balance) before buying this one. I need width for bunions and excellent arch support for walking, and I found both in this shoe. I gave only 4 stars because the heel slips a lot and the tongue comes up too high against the front of the ankle area. To lace the shoe tight enough to give the excellent arch support I need, I have to leave the top two rows of holes unlaced. This reduces heel support and increases slippage.

Needed this shoe for travel.
I needed the Addiction because my feet tend to pronate. Brook's construction supports the sides of my feet and therefore prevents "roll". My orthodics fit well. My feet are a little wide so the nice, large squareish toe box was perfect for me. Only two problems, it is a very bulky shoe and rather unattractive. Second found fault, short laces. Easy enough to replace.I wore this shoe during a walking tour. Very comfortable and did well on cobbled, wet streets. I ordered my size, just a tad too large but socks and orthodics filled that extra space.

Review -
This shoe works very well with custom orthotics. It is durable and holds up well to daily use. I need a shoe with good cushioning and this is the one. My only complaint is its appearance. While the leather means the shoe is durable, I'd love it if some color details were added to jazz it up.

A Very Comfortable Shoe -
I have worn this shoe on my morning walks about five times now and they seem very comfortable. They aren't as sporty looking as my New Balance shoes; but they are more comfortable. I have a very wide foot and I'm hard to fit. I was surprised at how fast I received them. Thank you.

Great Shoe!
This shoe was recommended to me for my plantar fasciitis. It has done a great job of helping relieve the pain! I can walk again (for exercise) w/o hurting. These shoes also clean up very nicely with soap and water if they get dirty. They are great!

Great shoe -
Zappos was great for getting my shoes to me VERY quickly. These are my work shoes. I am on my feet 6 - 8 hours at a time. VERY comfortable. THE ONLY complaint that I have is that my shoes have 2 different size shoe laces. The left one is correct but the right foot had a much smaller shoe lace...so lacing is more difficult on the right side...until I can get time to purchase NEW shoe laces...

Sturdy Walker -
I found the Brooks Addiction Walker to be all that I expected. It gives good support to my inward pronating, flat feet and is fairly comfortable for my plantar fasciitis problem. It helps keep my heel/ankle lined up more normal. It is stiff at first and I found that it’s MUCH easier on and off if you DO NOT put the shoestrings through the slot on the tongue. OVERAL A GOOD SHOE.

Brooks Walking Shoes -
I'm satisfied with my Brooks Addiction Walkers. They look like any other walking shoe, but I bought them for comfort not their beauty. My feet are narrow and my heels narrower which creates a fitting problem. Though the shoes slip at the heel, I'm pleased they slip less than others. They are harder to put on than other shoes. Perhaps they need some more wear to soften up and develop flexibility. This is not a deal breaker for me because of their comfort level. At this point in my acquaintance with them I'd consider buying them again.

I've been wearing this shoe for over a year. They are the only shoes that give me the support I need. They aren't the greatest looking, but they keep me walking. And orthotics can easily be used in them.

Does the job -
I was looking for comfort and support and not getting pain in toes with long term walking. So far, so good. Somewhere in researching shoes on the net, I read to order one-half size larger in walking/exercise shoe, to allow for mild foot swelling. So I ordered an 11 (B) instead of 10 or 10 1/2 (B)and am glad I did.

Walking shoes -
I have wide feet, so it is difficult for me to find shoes to fit. I had already tried another style and brand that was too narrow before finding these. Even so, I had to go a half-size longer than I need in order to have the shoe wide enough.
These have good cushioning and good support. I use them on the treadmill.
The shoe laces are not long enough.

Brooks Addiction Walker -
This is my second pair of this shoe: the narrow size fits well. The last is stiff at the outset, so it needs breaking in. Also, the laces are a bit short, but overall the shoe is good and lasts for miles and miles.

Addiction walker -
Overall, the shoe is fine. I have plantar fasciitis and was looking for something as comfortable as my Aertrex--these were not quite as good. The heel was not as comfortable--not bad but not as good as my other shoes. As far as looks, I'm not impressed with the looks of any shoe I should be wearing for my heel. I'd love to be able to wear my Birkies but that will have to wait.

Brook's Addiction Walker -
This is the second pair I purchased of this particular shoe because it gives me good support for walking and I can fit my own inserts in them. I don't use the arch support provided because of my plantar fasciitis. I have to purchase special ones for my feet.

A great serious shoe -
I love beautiful shoes. These are not beautiful. But I have developed a series of foot issues over the years that mean I have to have a serious shoe. These have a nice wide toe box, good cushioning in the heel and a firm medial post. I can stand in them a long time without a problem. They come up very high and can be a bit of a hassle to get into, but once you are in them, they are an excellent walking shoe. They are not pretty, but I have gotten over that.

A bit stiff but great support -
I would suggest this very sturdy walking shoe for anyone (like me) who has problem feet or who is on their feet a good part of the day. They accommodate orthotic supports very well and have a roomy toebox.
