"Old feet" I was fitted in this shoe in a specialty store. After numerous tries to find a shoe other than this one that would accommodate arthritic toes, I finally ordered and kept these. They are industrial strength supportive but heavy (I am used to NB844) and, goodness, they are anything but pretty. I probably wouldn't have kept them but for winter walking they are O.K. chose comfort over style and tired of hunting.

Review of Brooks walking shoe - I have been a little disappointed. I thought it would be heavenly to wear. It rubs on the bottom of my foot.

I'm disappointed in the Brooks Addiction Walker. According to other reviews, I thought it would be much more comfortable than it is. The size is fine, but after wearing the sneakers for several hours, I need to change to another pair of shoes.

IT'S UGLY - The laces are too short. The shoe is ugly, no way around it. But it is comfortable (first priority), my inserts fit inside, & it is wide enough for my wide feet. Still, there's no excuse for the lace issue and really, it's just not an attractive shoe. Zappos service excellent as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really good for motion control at work. I've had these shoes since 7/06. I only wear them for work. My sneakers I wear more, so I replace them every 6 months. These shoes were somewhat supportive when I first got them, but my feet still moved around. I would have to tighten the laces a lot to get my foot snug. I am looking for a better "motion control" shoe since I have bunions & flat feet. I have orthotics, but I still need a "motion control" shoe to put them in.

Not exactly what I needed - I walk all day on a hard floor and need a shoe that will be comfortable. This shoe is fine for the first couple of hours, but after that, it does not provide the comfort and cushioning I need.

I ordered these because other reviews stated they are good shoes for someone with a neuroma, but although when I tried them on, they felt good at first, after going to a store and walking for a while, my feet did hurt and I had to take shoes off in the store for a moment. I ordered wide, and have very normal size feet, but felt still felt that the toe box was too narrow for my problem.

Brook's Addiction Walker - Fit is fine, but I wanted them to be on the larger size and they are. Orthodics fit fine. They're harder than I expected. I need a well cushioned shoe as I have many problems with my feet and knees. Not as well cushioned as I'd hoped. Kinda come down hard as I walk. Wish they were softer and more flexible.

Narrow opening for bigger feet - I was hoping this shoe would replace my beloved Reebok DMX Walk Max shoes. It did not. It seems a very stable shoe for walking and certainly kept my foot from pronating, which was very nice. However, the padding in the heel for my bone spur was not sufficient. Also, the shoe tends to be narrow and difficult to get on, and shoelaces are way too short. The 10W (my usual size) was just too small to get on without a fight. I tried the 10WW and while the width around the ankle was better, my toes were flopping around in a too big shoe. The heel section tends to run high. Without my orthotic, it was rubbing my ankle bone. Seems like a nice walking shoe, but didn't fit my feet.

Not sure yet - After reading the other reviews, I decided to buy these shoes. I bought them in WW width. While I have no problem with the overall width, my feet have hurt when I am wearing the shoes around my arch/heel area. I have only worn them 3x so far, so I am hoping the problem goes away. They also rub around the ankle area and the shoe laces that come with the shoe are way too short.

Diggin' in - Have to agree with "Anonymous from Maine". The tongue on this shoe is so high that it digs into the front of my ankle. Also, they seemed kind of big in the toe box. Really disappointed in them, but ready to try something else. Zappos is a great place to shop for those of us with hard-to-fit feet.

Sorry. This shoe is a "no-go" The heel doesn't come up high enough on the back of my foot. This resulted in rubbing and soreness almost immediately. I really hated the noise these shoes made when walking, even on carpeting. They sounded as if they were made of cheap vinyl and not good quality leather. I also was looking for a shoe that would keep my feet from rolling inwards due to my flat feet. I've recently had knee surgery and need good support. Again, a disappointment. I liked the looks of these shoes in black because I need them for work. I stand/walk all day on concrete floors. These were not the shoes for me. Zappos, of course, was great. 2 day delivery! I am putting in an order for another brand. Thanks, Zappos.

The tongue hit the front of my leg quite uncomfortably, so had to return these. Couldn't use a medium thick sock, but fit was fine with a thin sock.

Brooks Addiction Walker not worth the money! These shoes are really dorky looking, but if they were comfortable, I didn't care. I bought these shoes on the feedback of others and was very unhappy with the fit. The shoes are very stiff and uncomfortable. I thought I would break them in, but to no avail. Now I am stuck with a pair of shoes that are ugly, uncomfortable, and definitely not worth the money! I'll think twice before ordering again.

I wanted these sneakers to be as great as they look and were rated but they weren't. The toe area is very wide and feel so big and bulky. The area bends when I walk and they just don't feel right. I am returning them to this fabulous company who also gives free returns with no hassles. I am one of those who is hard to fit with sneakers and have heel spurs. Can't say enough about this great store and I recommend it to everyone.

Zappos product defective-Brooks Addiction Walker - Prior to buying from Zappos, I have purchased at least 4 pairs of the exact same Brooks Addiction Walker from a local store except in white. Since I started wearing the pair from Zappos, I've had ongoing back issues since it appears the right foot height or make is not the same as the left in the heel area. I've even taken my insert out of my existing shoe and used it to make a fair comparison. Still no luck.

Footsore - I don't know why but this shoe hurts the top of my foot--all the bones leading to the toes. I've worn it for several months now and it hasn't gotten better. It fits fine in the length and width. I don't know what the problem is. It is a clunky looking shoe. I bought it as a black walking shoe for the city, but it is too big and bulky for anything but sport.

Not as good as the Addiction sneaker! I have a difficult foot to fit -- very narrow heel and wider toe box requirements. I also have a neuroma and the Addiction sneaker was the only "shoe" I could wear for nearly a year. After three pair of wonderful Addiction sneakers, I ordered the leather Addiction to have a more all-weather shoe. There is no comparison to the sneaker -- it is not as comfortable and no matter how snugly I tie the laces, the heel slips badly. They are also pretty ugly, but I wouldn't mind if they really fit. Sorry Zappos, I'm sending them back. But I still love Zappos!

Not like the old style - I have worn the Brooks Addiction Walker since my foot surgery several years ago. This new style is pathetic. The design lacks style. My kids thought I needed to get a better looking shoe. The shoe looks cheap, lacks style and comfort and is a huge disappointment. I'll never buy another Brooks shoe. I couldn't even tell what material they are made from.

Great it helps others, but not for me - There were many great reviews on this shoe which prompted me to order it. I am on my feet all day, most of the time walking, but other times standing in one place. I am overweight, which doesn't help, but I thought a good shoe would take a lot of the stress off of my feet. Since wearing this shoe, at the end of the day my ankles are killing me, as well as my arches. It's a relief when I have my day off to let them recuperate a little bit. They are quite expensive, so now I can't afford to buy anymore right now. It's either wear these, or my old ones with holes in them. I'm glad they are great for others, but not for me.

Brooks Addiction Walker - I was impressed with the Brooks Addiction Walker. I did not have to "break in" this shoe. It is comfortable and gives great support. It’s a good looking shoe and it hasn't lost its shape. I would recommend this shoe to others.

GREAT SHOE - This is my second pair of Addiction Walkers. I bought the first pair local than I went online to find another pair. I find them very comfortable. They have great arch support I would recommend this shoe to anyone and especially if you have foot pain.

Uncomfortable - The shoes I received look very good however, they are extremely stiff and won't soften up. They are very hard to lace and the first time I wore them I got 2 very bad blisters. No give at all. I think if they were made of a softer leather or whatever the fabric is they would be OK. I should probably return them since I can't wear them for my walking exercise.

I wouldn't recommend them, they are too stiff.
