After trying and sending back numerous brands and styles of walking shoes, I chose the 811s. They seem to stabilize my foot better than the others that I tried. My left ankle is a little weak from an old injury and my old walking shoes were hurting my ankle in the front. The 811s do require some break-in time, but my ankle is not bothering me anymore. A little clunky looking, but I'll take comfort over style at this point. I'm over 60 and want to continue walking for exercise.

These shoes are very comfortable and cut wide enough in the toe box for me. They also provide good support. It is kind of a basic shoe, with not much style. I bought them for work and they are perfect for that.

Shoes are fine, good for old feet, not the most stylish in the world, but I bought them for comfort. Price not the cheapest, but reasonable with the free shipping consideration.

Very happy with the sneaker that I ordered. Came in a short time after ordering. The sneaker was comfortable, and had them broke in in a short time.Wish they were a bit more stylish. I did read the reviews, that helped me make a choice.

Second pair of these...not so beautiful, BUT, GREAT walking sneaker. I walk my dog in them daily, several miles. No more nagging pain in my knee or falling over a branch when it's dark outside! Highly recommend as a utility shoe, not a fashion shoe. Will buy again. Also, Made in USA!

The shoe is exactly what I ordered. It fits well. However, I do not like the plastic looking material it is made of. I would prefer leather. Few companies make a shoe of this type in a narrow size.

Got these shoes for walking in the mall and in the park. I have used them about 4 times and so far they are fine. I got the wide because I do not like tight shoes in the toe area. And these fit the bill! So far I am happy with them.

Good shoe, but not for me - I had worn New Balance athletic shoes in the past, so thought I would try them again. They are styled a bit more to my liking than the Brooks Addictions that I wear, but these are much too big on the heel for me. If I didn't tie them uncomfortably tight, I would step right out of them. So back they went. I wear an 8 EE and have a high arch and bunions, so my feet are tough to fit.

Disappointed - I LOVE this shoe. I've worn many pairs of this shoe since March 2000 after having bilateral total knee replacements. My surgeon suggested that I wear a walking shoe with a roll bar, and this was the answer! However, when I ordered a new pair in my usual size this year, I was disappointed that it did not fit -- it was too narrow across the top where the laces are. I had to change sizes and order 3 other sizes before I could get a fit. My feet were not swollen; the shoe had been changed. I hope it stays the same. I REALLY APPRECIATE your good service and the free postage! I recommend your company to all my friends!

Fit - Overall the shoes are good, but the heel fit is not as good as desired. I have very narrow heels, so this is a regular problem.

Good Walker - Since my feet are narrow shopping for shoes on line has been a Godsend. This shoe was true to size both for size and width. The narrow heel was perfect. The toe part was wider (as was stated) and would have been a better fit if it also was AA. However, it works for me and is a comfortable walker. (I appreciate the "Made in USA" label.)

I bought these shoes because I like to walk 2 miles a day and am having a problem with a heel spur. I ordered a 10 wide, my shoe size is 9 1/2 wide, but I have always gotten a 10 in sneakers. Initially they felt comfortable but now seem too big and my toes sometimes bother me across the top. I put insoles in them and orthotic heel cushions but I'm wondering if I should have gotten a 10 med. They also make my feet look huge and remind me a little of old lady shoes. I love new balance sneakers but am a little disappointed in these.

I like the shoe very much and have worn it before; however, there is one thing about it that bothers me. The "tongue" does not stay in place and always slides over to the side. Other than that, I love it.

Review of NB WW 811 Walking Shoe for Narrow Feet - The shoe is very stable, and it’s good for walking on a treadmill. I usually wear a 9 1/2 4A (difficult) but purchased a 9 1/2 2A because I wanted to fit the shoe with some orthotics. Probably should have bought the 9 1/2 4A because it would have held my foot in place better. However, the top is flexible, and the toe box is roomy. I formerly wore Easy Spirit Mach I which were the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, but they aren't made anymore. This is a well made, well cushioned shoe and hasn't required much break in.

A comfy work shoe - I work in a bakery (on the sales side) and I needed something comfortable for being on my feet all day, and it had to look OK with out khaki and white uniforms (I got the white shoe). These were a good choice and they keep my feet happy throughout the day. I had to send them back and order a half size up, so they might run a little small. Style-wise they look better than I expected, so that was a bonus. They're slightly on the stiff side, but after a few days I didn't even notice that any more.

Functional Shoe - I was looking for a shoe that would look okay with business casual and accommodate my "high volume" feet and orthotics. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit with my orthotics, especially because one has a lift. These shoes took a little getting used to, and I had to try two different sets of replacement laces because the 40" laces that come with the shoe are too short for me. The heel still slips a little, but the orthotics work and in general the shoe does what I want it to.

Not quite as great as I hoped... I bought these shoes based on customer's reviews and a local shoe-salesperson's recommendation. I really like them and think they're a lot better than my previous shoes. My only complaint is that the tongue of the shoe is SO padded, it actually puts a little pressure on the top of my feet. Maybe after they're more "broken in" this won't be an issue anymore.

They Fit!!!! Finally a supportive, well-made, athletic shoe in my size! It even accommodates my orthotics. It is so much easier to be on my feet all day at work and walk comfortably! Thanks New Balance and Zappos. Great service!

The order arrived in record time. This shoe is not the most stylish but is very comfortable. I have some major foot problems, i.e. hammertoes, so I am considering ordering another pair. I had to get new laces for them, as the ones that came with the shoes were stiff and did not stay tied.

Slip Slidin' Away - I like the shoe but was surprised by the clear, ridged plastic strip running the length of the sole. When this slick strip met the smooth surface of my treadmill's belt, I was slip slidin' away. Whoa, Nellie!! I have worn the shoes outside and tried to rough up the plastic strip. I'm getting better traction, but I do not recommend this shoe for walking on the treadmill.

Solid shoe - This is a good, solid shoe, but my 3/4 orthotics don't fit right. The full length orthotics are fine in them.

An excellent walking shoe - This is a good shoe for pronators and an excellent walking shoe. I like the brown better, it looks sportier. This is an orthotic friendly shoe. New Balance is one of the better athletic shoe companies and is very consistent across their line. I have worn their shoes for years.

Zappos is outstanding! I could not believe the excellent customer service I received with Zappos. My 1st order, 8N, was too snug, so I requested an 8M and received it immediately. Unfortunately, I am going to have to return it also. It's not the shoe, it's my feet. Sometimes I have a difficult time finding shoes that feel right because of bunions and pronation. However, I will always get my shoes from Zappos. They are the greatest.

NB Shoe - I have recently had to go to a sling-back tennis shoe - for feet/leg/hip problems. I love the style and color and I get lots of compliments on them. I was disappointed that the insoles came out (maybe they are supposed to) the 2nd time I wore them - now they slip... but other than that, they are exactly what I needed for lots of walking and the shoe helps keep my feet and ankles from swelling. Oh - order the wide, even if you feel you have a normal foot - these run slim.
