I really like the style of this New Balance shoe. Yes, its a little retro, but the color choices are great. Make no mistake though the shape of the toe box is very narrow and this shoe runs almost a full size smaller than normal. I wear a 12 and in this shoe I can not even get a 12 on my foot. I have to go up to a 13. Other than size, a great shoe.

Great lightweight shoe for running and around town. Lacks a bit of grip in the rain but overall a decent value.

Zappos.com has far exceeded my expectations in product quality and customer service. This has been the third pair of the same or similar style shoe I have ordered from them in about 2 years (I keep loosing them!). On two out of the three orders they have upgraded my shipping, at no cost to me, to next day delivery. For running, I have worn NB 991/992 7.5EE for almost a decade. So I decided to get a pair of 574's for everyday use. It is built on a different last and is narrower than the 991/992 -- I had to order a full size up for the same fit. I had to make a few exchanges and they helped me out with speed and courtesy. Zappos rules. Fact.

New Balance Review - I just bought these shoes and they are incredibly comfortable ever since I bought them they are always on my feet plus they look resistant to everyone who's hesitating to buy them just do it it's worth it.

M574 10.5 2E - Fairly comfortable shoe. Feels like a tennis shoe, but almost passes for dress shoe at a quick glance.

This shoe is very comfortabe but was a little smaller than anticipated. It's old school look is just what I was looking for. I would recommend this shoe.

M574-Review - These shoes are for my 16 year old son, he has a hard time finding shoes that fit and look good. The M574- New Balance fits well and also looks good.

Never before felt compelled to write a review for a product. Something has changed with this shoe since I last purchased about 1.5 years ago. I have worn this exact shoe style from New Balance for 10+ years, usually buying a new pair every 1-2 years. In the past, these sneakers have been perfectly comfortable right out of the box. This does not seem to be true any longer. They feel narrower and firmer than before. Very disappointed in the comfort of this shoe. Hopefully, it improves with time or this may be the sad end of a 10 year love affair...

Not much heal support. The back and side of the shoe are very flimsy.

Not good for those with flat feet 2E used to be wider now more narrow.

Wide? Size 10.5? I don't think so. They feel like medium and not anything near a wide width. They also seem to run small. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5 at most. I ordered a 10.5 and my toes were touching the very end which was surprising. I might have to try 11 which will be a first for me.

Very stylish but unfortunately run very small compared to some New Balance. I have a pair of 860v6's that I ordered in the same size. Holding these up sole-to-sole shows a good 3/4" in width and 1/2" in length difference between identical new balance sizes.

I normally wear regular width shoes and while I do have wider feet, they fit fine. I specifically ordered the EE-wide version of these shoes and they were so tight I couldn't wear them for more than a few minutes.

I bought the "wide" listed as 2e. They are much thinner than I expected. I'm a regular purchaser of 2e New Balance running shoes, these are not like the others I have. These were not intended to be used for running, more fashion, I like the look of classic NB's. Though these are not so small that I returned them, they don't fit as comfortably as wish they would.

If you are looking for a good-looking shoe that is just a loafer - this is the shoe for you. I like more support quality. It did not fit that mark.

These shoes are not nearly as wide as advertised. Couldn't wear them for more than a couple of minutes.

New Balance changed suppliers with this pair and the size I always bought (and always fit fine) is too tight in the width this time, and I don't want a larger size. Tell NB to go back to their Indonesian supplier.

Very disappointing. I bought these based on the stellar reviews posted already. I found they're a size smaller than marked. I wear 13s in Asics and had to get 14s instead. Basically these don't provide nearly enough forefoot cushioning for my feet. I mildly overpronate and these just made it a lot more painful. Not sure if it's worth buying orthotics to make 'em work. To the donation bin these go.

I have been a big fan of New Balace M574s for years and have been ordering the same size. But with this last pair, they are smaller. And yes, I know, feet can grow as we get older. However, the pair right before this was just fine. I wonder if New Balance shifted their sizing?

The incredible shrinking shoe. I last bought a pair of these 2-3 years ago in size 10 and they fit perfectly. I very recently bought a new pair to replace them, and they're definitely at least a half size too small, and generally feel narrower as well. The pair a few years ago were made in Vietnam, the new pair in Indonesia. Something's been altered in the switchover, it appears. I'll be trying again in a half size larger, but I'm worried that the overall fit has simply just changed for the worse.

I bought these in wide... they're not. A friend who works at NB confirmed that they run narrow. Consider ordering the wide size even if you don't typically order that size.

I love these Shoe's i just wish they were inspected before they were shipped one Of them was smooth and the other was rough. I decided to keep them because I needed a new work shoe by the esthetics weren't pleasing. If I would have seen this at a department store I would have asked for an other pair. Overall the shoes are great!
