Let me start by saying that my skin is very sensitive. I really liked these Mephisto sandals as soon as I put them on. The fit was good and the arch support felt like it could work for me. The problem began after I walked around a bit. I noticed that where the little holes are in the heel to allow air out as you step, every circle cut into my skin. I had imprints of the little holes on the bottom of my heel when I took them off. It didn’t take more than a few minutes for me to realize this would be a problem for me. I wanted to love them. I was so excited to get them. But sadly I’m returning them.

wow this is a beautiful looking shoe, but it does not work on my feet. I am quite used to Birkenstocks and this Mephisto is uncomfortable where it goes between my toes. Sadly I have to send them back

These along with Birks are supposed to be SO comfortable but I don't find them to be. They are ok for short term wear and I like the less bulky look of these compared to Birkenstocks, but for me they are just ok.

I have bad feet and hoped that these would be comfortable. They are very attractive and I like them but the sole is like walking on concrete. They are going back.

I wanted to love these, but they just didn’t work. They definitely run short, ordered a size larger and while the length was good, there just wasn’t quite enough space for my toes to be comfortable. My toes are possibly slightly wider than average.

The overall fit was good but my feet hung over the side a tad and would not have been able to wear for very long without issues. Loved the look! Pricey also!

Size and fit are awesome. I have another pair in a champagne color and love them. I wanted a cooler toned pair to wear with other things. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 is that I thought they were white with colored "paint spatter" but they are more like a soft silver with metallic colored paint spatter. The colors splatters are metallic and the leather is white-ish but also has a silver hue. I can't decide if I'm going to keep them because of that but I do like them. I am leaning towards keeping them, but just have to get used to the metallic shine.

The shoes are very nice looking, and nicely made. I want to be able to tell you they are the most comfortable shoes ever. That is not the case. I mistakenly thought the footbed looked soft. This is not the case. They are very much like most other cork soled shoe. Hard, and require breaking in.

I had to go up a full size due to length; I am normally a size 9 US and medium width. The size 9 US seemed small and wanted to avoid toe overhang. Perhaps with wear, your foot would settle in...? I love the style but ultimately returned them for size 10 US.

Love this style and have 4 other pairs. Always very comfortable. This pair, while very pretty, were miserable to try on. Very sharp edges on the leather, rubbing foot and toes. Had to take off after taking a few steps. Will be returning.,

I purchased these because they were similar to my Birkenstock Mayari sandals, which I love and these come in more colors. Being from Mephisto, I thought they would be very comfortable, but they were not. The piece that goes between the toes was one piece of leather and uncomfortable. In addition the bottom felt hard as well as too high for my taste. It could be that they would have stretched/softened, but for the price I didn't want to take a chance so I returned them. I will stick with Birkenstock.

This shoe is way too stiff! The leather could cut your toes!!!!!!!

The footbed was too hard and I could tell the leather straps would give me blisters. My feet get angry very easily so could just be me.

The leather rubbed badly on the inside of my big toes. Too bad...loved the shoes, otherwise.

I had to return these, unfortunately. They fit fine, but the uppers were too stiff and rubbed my feet immediately. They might loosen up with time, but my feet are very sensitive and I couldn’t stand it. The footbed was wonderfully comfortable, and they were cute, so I was sad they didn’t work for me.

strap over toe is loose on me and no way to adjust. also didn't like the leather that felt synthetic.

Beautiful metallic blue sandals. Orthopedic, yet very stylish. So I'm totally bummed that I have to return them. The sole/bottom is hard and inflexible. I was actually shocked at that, because I have worn other Mephistos and never, ever had a hard sole. And, the arch is way too built up - too high for my flat feet. If you can not wear Birkenstocks - like me - you will not be able to wear these. As for sizing, I paid attention to other reviews and got a size 40 (or 10) for my 9 1/2 feet. These sandals fit in length, but just barely. I might have tried to go up one more size, but because of the other problems I have with this sandal I'm throwing in the towel. Bummer. It is a beauty.

Black oiled leather was very stiff, otherwise a cute style.

The length was perfect but overall a bit too wide for me; I do have a narrow foot. However, the biggest issue is that they are not comfortable to walk in for long periods of time because the top strap sits right on top of the foot bone, and after wearing for only a couple of hours both my feet actually felt bruised. Definitely not an all day wearing/walking sandal, and for the cost of the sandal I expect to be walking on a cloud. My first and last pair of Mephistos!

Very narrow

I have ordered the "Helen" several times, but this year I couldn't fit into it. The strap over the top of the foot leading toward the toe is too short. The shoe is too short! I've compared it carefully to my other pairs and it is about 3/8" shorter. I tried the next size up and it is too long. I'm so disappointed. This is my shoe, I loved it. I cannot believe that it has changed, and I'll probably never wear it again. Going to try Birkenstock. Geez Mephisto...don't mess with a recipe.

I've had many many pairs of these sandals. I like the support and sturdiness. However, the last two pair I've ordered have very short straps. They barely fit across my arch. I had to send the first pair back and I fixed the second pair by poking an extra hole to enlarge the strap. My foot hasn't changed in size. It just seems the manufacturer is skimping on the length of the strap.

The 38 was too big for my foot and the diagonal strap, which is not adjustable, was very loose. A medium width shoe generally fits me, but for this type of sandal, I need a narrow, or in this case- to wear a size 37- which does fit.

Mephisto has begun using very thin leather and lining the inside of the sandal with a thin layer of something manmade. The Mephistos I had 10 or 12 years ago were buttery soft and never made a blister. Now, the leather is thin and stiff on some colors and the inside is lined with a thin, stiff manmade material that rubs blisters on top of my feet. I think they're trying to get away with something by using thin leather and then something else to give the upper part of the shoe stability. Very disappointing because they are more comfortable than Birkenstocks, but not with the tops now.

I really wanted to love these sandals; however, the straps were too stiff and the toe hold uncomfortable. I couldn't make them snug enough and needed to use my toes to dig in to keep them on. I loved the Vionic's that had the toe hold and straps that could be tightened. They don't make them anymore which is why I tried these. I returned them.
