I have another pair of Mephisto Helen sandals that I love. Very comfortable. I work in retail & have back issues & felt they gave my feet & back good support. So I wanted to order a different color. There is a real issue with the sizing. One foot feels higher then the other so I ordered another 2 pairs hoping the fit would be better. It was not. Sadly I had to return them.

I bought these in the Reptilian and the Kaleidoscope (black) and really wanted to like them. The straps are hard and thin, though, and I know that if I wear them for more than a few minutes, as I did in the house, they would rub blisters on my feet. What is it with Mephisto? Cost-cutting measures? I don’t know but I used to be able to count on Mephistos for comfort (the footbed is perfect for me), if not total style. These are beautiful but they’re going back.

This is a stylish sandal, and I was thrilled that the buckles enabled it to fit my narrow foot. A friend of mine recommended this sandal highly, but the footbed was too "lumpy" for my feet. I always buy shoes with an arch support, but these hurt my feet. I was disappointed to have to return them.

They were a bit hard and uncomfortable at first. I’ve only worn them a couple of hours but seems to have loosened up a bit. I’m still not sure they will be as comfortable as my other Mephistos.

Everything about the shoe was great, but the leather stretched out and it became very loose fitting and became too big for my foot.

They were really cute shoes, but they ran narrow. I do not have a wide foot yet the side of my foot hung over. The leather was quite stiff, and I wondered how long it would take to break them in, and if they ever would actually be a comfort shoe. The pair I received was defective with a hump on the outside footbed of one shoe. I sent them back and am going to stick with Birkenstocks. In terms of sizing, the 41 is the 11. I am a size 10which generally equates to a 41 in other brands.

They were attractive and fit as expected, but one was defective with a hump out the outer side of the midsole making it painful on that side. I wear the same size in Birkenstock as I do these and would have been satisfied if not for the defect.

The the fit was fine and supportive. The construction is very good. Terrific foot bed. I love these and think they’d be great, but for me the toe piece was too stiff and rubbed when I walked.

Mephisto Helen has been my favorite sandals for years. I know my foot is wide but the shoe worked..... until now.. either my foot is getting considerably wider or the Helen is getting more narrow. I was thrilled to hear that they now make Helen Plus but unfortunately only in about 3 colors so until they make more, Plus I'll need to find myself another 'go to' sandal.

I tried 2 of these shoes to get one to fit and provide arch support, especially for my plantar fascitis. I couldn't get them to fit right in the width as they buckle and if you buckle them tight, then they hurt your feet. Too loose, you can't walk in them. They provide little to no support. Must return.....but they are absolutely stunning style!

Runs very small! I am a 13M and ordered the 43 as it was marked as the equivalent for my regular size. These are beautiful sandals but were equivalent to a 12M, at best. Very disappointed I must return as a larger size is not offered.

Absolutely won't work for a narrow foot. The diagonal strap cannot be tightened. I could almost slide in one foot on top of the other. However, the footbed is soo comfortable. Returned them.

The foot bed of these sandals is very hard. I have a pair of Taos sandals that are almost the same. The foot bed in them is way more cushioned. Not worth the price

The shoebed was wonderful, but the between the toes strap was too hard and stiff.

These sandals are comfortable and stylish. However, I had to return them because the color I ordered, Helen, made the tops of my feet turn black after wearing them for one day.

These were surprisingly big. I also caution people with significant bunions that these shoes may not be the best option.

Wow, Europe shoes run hella small. The size I buy I like lots of toe room, this fit like it was 2 size too small :0

i wear a true 6 1/2 medium. this sandal was adequate but seemed a bit narrower. i ordered a 36 and the length was perfect, however, when walking in them i had to work at keeping them on my foot. the arch support was not as good as my birkenstocks. sorry zappos-they had to go back.

This is a very nice sandal. It's well made and has good arch support. The buckel is real and not velcro! It looks good with pants, shorts or a casual dress, and I think they would wear well. Unfortuantely I have "short toes" and so in order for the arch to hit in the right place there was too much room behind the heel. I also have hallux rigidus and I found it difficult to grip with my toes to keep the sandal on. So I am returning them. If you have normal feet I recomend these sandals. I am disappointed that I can't wear them. I am so glad that Zappos carries my size (5) because stores don't carry that size and without Zappos I couldn't even try on a pair of sandals to see if they would work for me. Thank you Zappos!

These are beautiful shoes, and I really wanted to keep them but my back started flaring after two hours. I am looking for a replacement for my go-to shoes.

Too long, size 5 is not size 36. It is a size 35.

The shoes were too narrow for my foot. I expected a fit similar to Birkenstocks and was very disappointed.

I owned a similar pair of these Mephisto sandals several years ago, and really LOVED THEM. Sadly, either my foot has gotten wider, or the sandals have decreased in width - and I am returning them.
