Very pretty sandal - but is pretty utilitarian looking as per design. Runs a full size smaller - maybe even slightly smaller than tha. I hope it will break in as these shoes do - very hard sole. I like it though. The blue color is beautiful1

Love this shoe. At first my toe rubbed a bit but the shoe softens and they are perfect. I have a bunion and hammer toes. These shoes are great for them. Look great with jeans, dresses and shorts.

The fit and size didn’t match up very well for my foot. The size seemed just a bit large—although not so large that I would have returned them—but the fit wasn’t comfortable around the straps. The leather was stiff, and it cut into my foot. The footbed seemed very comfortable, but after wearing the sandals in the house for twenty minutes, I had deep red marks on my foot. I suspect that part of the problem had do with the fact that I have a mild bunion problem which may have affected alignment, but the leather is very stiff and doesn’t feel as if it would soften over time.

Fit is true to size - have bought this same one several times - my only "con" is that after wearing for a year the the foot surface becomes slippery - it starts out with a foot surface that is not slippery - as you can see in the picture. Otherwise, they are extremely comfortable and good to walk in. Would definitely buy them again

Boy, I sure wanted these sandals to work - they are so good looking. Unfortunately the diagonal strap over the top of my foot (from toe to opposing side) was much too loose and not adjustable. Because of that, the back of my foot seemed to slip side to side.

The fit is good, I only had to adjust to them a little bit but it was worth it because the support feels so good for my feet and legs.

Really comfortable shoes but a smidge short and narrow for me. My usual size (39) didn't work out for this shoe; would need to size up.

So sad to have to return these, they are definitely a size smaller than the conversion states. Order at least one size larger.

Cute, comfortable shoes in great colors. The ONLY reason I'm returning is the toe area. It is very rough and scrapes the skin. If not for that, I would have these in all colors.

I bought this shoe in 1994, just wore it out....so bought the same shoe, same color as the 94 pair. So comfortable! Great arch support.

This is my 4th pair of the Mephisto Helen. This time I bought the blue snakeskin because it was on sale. I got the same size as always (42) but after reading the reviews, I also ordered the next size up (43). I wear a size 11 in most other shoes. I'm going to keep the 42, but I do notice that the footbed is a bit narrower than it used to be. This is such a great sandal - don't mess them up Mephisto!

I bought these because I'm having heel pain and wanted a flip flop with good arch support and heel cushioning. So far, after a couple of weeks, they seem to be helping. However they are not as flexible as other flip flops, so can be a bit hard to walk distances in as they start slipping off my feet. The arch support is excellent, but the heel cushioning is not as soft as I'd hoped.

Great shoe. Very attractive but had to upsize. Love it in platinum and want it in another color.

Must return. The toe thong is stiff and very uncomfortable. This was on the blue color, which has an unexpected metallic finish. Maybe the suede or softer leather versions would not have this problem.

They fit well but aren’t as comfortable as I hoped. Probably fine/very comfortable for most but I have issues with my feet. They may work but I’ll need to give it a bit more time/thought before I commit to keeping them as they are quite expensive. I’ve had both Birkenstock and Mephistos in the past, both which ended up working well for me, but haven’t yet owned this particular style that goes between the toes. They are well-made, quality, supportive, great-looking sandals so hoping they will be keepers.

Super cute sandals but the leather was stiff and cut into my big toe. Perhaps it would soften over time but it didn't work for me. I have used Zappos for over 13 yrs and only get my shoes here. This company has excellent customer service-the best online shopping service EVER!

I have two pairs of Mephisto Helen, both purchased 2013- they are super comfy and have held up beautifully, both size 41. Since having kids, my feet are a bit bigger, so I ordered a new pair this week in size 42. WOW!! SO small. The 42 feels smaller than the 41- now i get that my 41s are broken in, but even holding the soles of old and new together, you can see the new 42 is no larger than the old 41, and it also appears a bit more narrow. So, beware, the sizing isn't what it used to be.

I had to try this sandal after seeing so many glowing reviews. Unfortunately they do not work on my hard to fit feet. I normally wear a 10.5 or 11 and I first ordered a 41 which felt great in the heel and arch but was much too short at the toe area. So I ordered the 42 thinking they would be perfect but for some reason they are still too short at the toe. When really looking at the shoe I think it is because the toe area is just too narrow and "pointy" for my foot. Too bad there is nothing available in the Helen Plus because I really liked the footbed and arch support.

I was impressed w comfort. But disappointed in the arch support. Very comfortable heel and footbed, but i have high arches (super high) and I’m need a wrap around my foot to help. Also theyre kind of wide. But th light silver color was lovely and slightly dressy so i kept em :)

The sandal was uncomfortable around the big toe. The leather thong dug into my skin. The footbed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I returned them.

These shoes feel great. The arch support is exactly what I expected from mephisto. The straps rub some after I’ve worn them awhile. I hope it softens up eventually. Because of that I haven’t tried to wear them all day.

These shoes are very comfortable, overall. The straps around the toes, for me, are stiff, but I hope it will soften up with wear. The support is great! The size was the same as other Mephistos I have.

I have a rather high arch and these were snug across my foot and toe. Being leather I wasn't concerned but the lip at the edge of the sole hit both fifth toes and were uncomfortable so I had to return them.

I didn't believe all the reviews about ordering a full size up. Being a size 10 normally, which feels just already overly big, I just couldn't bring myself to order a size 11. What am I, a giant? Ah, well. 'Tis true that the 10s were too small. Have got 11s on the way.

My feet are 10" long; I got the size 40 (US 10) and they fit perfectly. I am especially pleased that they are not too wide, which is often a problem for me in this type of sandal. I love the style and the foot bed is comfortable (I normally wear custom orthotics and appreciate the substantial arch support). However, I got them in the Desert Buffalo color and found the leather to be extremely scratchy (blister inducing) around the edges. I had to use an emery board around the edges to soften them up, which did help some. Also, the outer part of the toe piece cuts into my bunion area a bit. I really like them and hope that in time they will soften up, and my feet will harden up, so I will be able to wear them comfortably. Considering all the glowing reviews, this may only be a problem with this color and the type of leather they used. At any rate, I hope it resolves itself over time.
