returning these shoes even though I. love the style but the leather is stiff and the edges of the leather strap are so sharp it cuts into my skin on my foot. Had to return. I ordered the same style in a different softer leather to see if it is the same,

I tried these on in a store in the US. I live overseas so I can't return shoes although I can receive them. I have been wanting shoes with a cool toe thing but that makes it harder to figure out if a shoe is good for me. I am a wide 7.5 to 8 but sometimes an 8.5 depending on the brand. I got these in an 38. I also tried on the 39 but they were too big and didn't look right with the toe thing. Unfortunately my pinky toe hangs off some but I got them anyways. I probably shouldn't have but I did. I also got a pair of Birkenstock Mayari and they fit me better and my pinky toe doesn't hang off. These do look fancier though. I would probably return these if I could and get another cheaper pair of Birkenstock Mayari but only because I have wide feet and the Birkenstocks are better for wide feet, these are more for medium feet. They probably deserve 5 stars for medium foot people but for my wide foot, no.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 narrow and ordered the size 40. My 2nd toe is longer than the big toe, as are many people's. The 2nd toe hits the rim of the shoe and can be a bit uncomfortable. If this is your physical nature also, I would recommend going up to the next size.

I think these shoes are cute, comfortable and what I was looking for. Not quite as comfy as birkenstocks and I am breaking them in at home before any outdoor walks. So far, so good!

Sadly returning, as the leather between the toe was rough and scratching to the point that I got a blister within a half an hour. The sizing was perfect, I ordered the Euro 39, The recommended 38 did not fit my medium eight size. Also a plus, the arch support was spot-on.

Loved everything about the fit except the stiff piece of leather between the toes. It was too long and dug into my skin.

I have had many Mephisto Helen sandals over the years. The past two pairs fit fine initially, but after wearing for several months, the straps/leather stretched a lot, making the sandals flop on my feet. Tightening the buckle was not an option, because it left an unattractive black mark from the original location of the buckle. The solution would be to use a leather that does not stretch for the straps.

Unfortunately, the right sandal squeaks when walking.

I loved wearing these all summer.

The material was too stiff for my feet, not soft like the previous sandals.

Very cute, but they run very narrow

Have a pair of Helen's that I ordered last year--a size 43 that I received when I ordered a size 12 women medium. They fit perfectly. Last week I ordered a 12 women's medium and I get a 42--which is short on my toes. So now I guess now instead of ordering a 12 I have to order a 13 in order to get a size 43... A clue would help and cost you less for postage I'd think!

Overall these are comfortable. However, this is my second pair and both times I needed to wear several times to break them in. Don't put them on and immediately go for a very long walk. Now they are comfortable, but for very long walks (over 3 miles) I get blisters on the sole of my foot. I interchange these with Naot Kyla when I need to do a lot of walking.

Runs VERY small. And narrrow - which is good becasue I have a narrow foot, but I'll have to order the next size up bc they run SO small.

wanted to keep these so badly, however they were too small. My heels & toes hit the end of the shoe. they also appeared to be too narrow fir my foot. they were comfortable walking @ the house fir a short period of time but I felt if I continued wearing them I would end up with blisters. i was hesitant to purchase another size because of the width & I felt like they looked like Birkenstock’s with the comfort. I do love ?? Mephisto.

These felt a little snug at first but I've bought them before and I know the leather straps will stretch a bit. The footbed is very comfy.

I purchased the Mephisto Helen in the Fog Paint with my normal size 9. Unfortunately, they seem smaller when I put them on, and the leather was stiff like others have noted. I did order another pair in a size 10 to see if that will work since these sandals do not come in half size...which is a bummer for those like me that a 1/2 larger would probably be perfect. Also if my feet decide to swell, I cannot get them on without adjusting the buckle. I'm hoping in time the leather will stretch some. I do have other Helen styles, such as the Flower, in my normal size and they fit very well and are very comfortable. Also these do seem to be narrower than a normal medium width, so I'm going to assume it is just this particular sandal.

The nubuck leather softens up immediately. The shoe does not have flexibility in the sole like a flip flop does but overall comfortable. Very similar to Birkenstock. I was looking for something with a little more cushion but they feel just like a Birkenstock.

These were nice well made shoes. The arch support and insole were comfortable and cushioned enough for me. They were a little short in the length. I liked them and would have kept them if the leather piece in between the toes wasn't stiff and uncomfortable. Oh well! Another return.

These sandals are nicely made of high quality materials. I have worn Birkenstocks for years, but I can't wear them anymore because of a neuroma and ball of foot pain that are exacerbated by the toe grip, and I was hoping that the Helen would be a good substitute. I ordered a 41 (a 40 in Birkenstocks) and the length was perfect. They are, however, very narrow--I have an average foot and really needed a wide to prevent the edge of my foot from spilling over the side. Perhaps the Helen Plus would be a more average width.

These shoes definitely run a full size small.

beautiful shoe, well made, but very very very narrow. not even close to a standard width. if you have narrow feet, this is your shoe.

Usually wear a size 38 but ordered a 39 and they fit perfectly. Leather is a bit stiff and digs into my toes and top of foot but I think they will break in soon. Comfortable otherwise.

Fit was ok, I liked the adjustable straps and the footbed was firm and snug. The straps themselves though were not the soft leather I expected, instead they were stiff and hard and the edges cut into my foot. Had to send them back.

the silver floral print is beautiful but this sandal is not as comfortable as I thought it would be given the brand
