Mephisto Helen - Excellent orthopedic, decent looking shoe!! Have 2 pairs!

Love these shoes! This is my third pair of the Helen style. I've had my original black patent pair rebuilt twice, I love them so much. They're the only sandals I wear in the summer. I'd love more colors!

Magnifique Mephisto - I bought 1 pair to try them-now I have them in 3 colors. Put them on and go for hours! Rarely wear my birkenstocks these days!

Mephisto "Helen" I have worn Mephisto sandals before in this style. They are so comfortable, and I had no break-in at all. The arch support is what I really love about Mephisto. The waxy red color is just that sort of a low sheen to it. I was a little startled at first, but really like the color. It is not fire engine red, but more of a brick red.

Helen Mephisto's - I suffer from plantar faciitus and didn't want to be stuck in running shoes all summer, so I set out to do some sandal shopping. After reading excellent review after excellent review on this shoe, I bought my first pair of Mephistos ever (my first time from Zappos.com too). I am soooo pleased! They fit like a glove (I usually wear a 7.5, but the 7 fits great) and have formed to my foot so well that my pain is gone! Well worth the money, intimidating as it is. I can't wait to buy another pair!

Raves in Red - This is my second pair of patent leathter RED Helen Mephisto sandals. I have worn the first pair for 6-7 years and decided I had to have another pair. I love the patent leather, I wear them to work with skirts, pants, capris, shorts everything. Red is my favorite color and so the patent leather makes them that much dressier and people really notice them. I could stand forever in them and they are so comfortable, the arch fits right up under your arch. I normally wear 8-8 1/2 and I ordered size 39. I highly recommend this sandal.

Healing Shoes!! Many years ago, maybe 5, I began having problems with plantar faciaitis. I was told I would have to have cortisone shots if it did not get better with motrin, and if all else failed I would have to have surgery. By chance, while walking thru Nordstroms one day, I tried on a pair of white Helens, and voíla! I was completely without pain for the first time in months. I bought that pair on the spot and have purchased 3 more pair over the years. I love and depend on them. I will continue to purchase as many pair as I can afford and I will spread the word to all my baby-boomer pals with foot problems! Bravo, Mephisto!!

Best sandals ever! I bought one pair of the Helen sandals and now own 3 pairs. I used to wear Birkenstocks alot but find that these are much more comfortable due to the padded footbed. I also like the fact that they are not so totally flat. I have a metallic leather, a patent leather and a nubuck pair--the only thing I will say is that the nubuck pair have a little bit softer straps and are little "floppier". All are super comfy! My feet are size 9 and some shoes are too narrow--like Naot sandals. These fit perfectly.

World's best sandal - This is absolutely the world's best sandal! I have 5 pairs now!

Loved it! It's difficult to find sandals with really good arch support. I have been delighted! I have plantar's fasciatis (sp?) and these are the first shoes I can wear all day! Can you believe it? A sandal no less. I think many folks might find it runs just a tad narrow. For me they're terrific. I'm buying another pair of Mephistos today.

Love these sandals! This is the second time I've bought these shoes. The first time was two years ago in NYC. It took me two years to wear them down, and I loved them so much I decided to buy the same exact kind for my trip to Europe this summer! I thought the toe thing would bug me at first, but it hasn't bugged me at all. Really comfortable.

Fabulous - Not only did these shoes arrive in one day, but after the initial breaking in period, they are probably the most comfortable sandals I've ever had, and they're definitely the coolest looking

I have this shoe and wear it daily. I have a very high arch and this is the only sandal I've been able to wear. They are not the most fashionable, but they are not bad. Also, they needed some adjustment- my foot is a little bit narrow.

The Wonderful World of Mephisto!! I have worn the Mephisto/Helen style for the past 7 years! After working in the city and walking on the hard pavement for years, I had done serious damage to my feet! Once trying on this sandal, I have never turned back. I have been known for my trademark "Jesus-Sandals" as others call them, so I guess you could call them a "savior" of sorts! I spoke so highly of these sandals that I "converted" a few Birkenstock wearers- even my own mother! I highly recommend this shoe and the use of Zappos.com! They were efficient and courteous! With their help my shoe closet wind up full!

The most comfortable sandals - After a few times of wearing them, they become so comfortable and supportive. This is my second pair of Mephisto Helen.

Mephisto's "Helen", are the only sandals I wear - I purchased a pair of Mephisto's "Helen" style sandals in 2000, and I am still wearing them in 2004. These are the most comfortable, durable, and stylish sandals ever made.

I have hiked part of the Appalachian Trail in my black patent Helens! And then worn them out to dinner in D.C. These are the most versatile shoes and through it all, they are extremely comfortable for anyone with a high instep and narrow foot! I also have the silver, pink, white, and lilac!

I've been wearing this sandal for three years. I've had a lot of foot problems in the past and these shoes are the most comfortable I own. The arch support is excellent.

These shoes are wonderful! I have a problem with plantar fascitis and had to wear athletic shoes with good arch support to be comfortable. This shoe has a high arch and completely eliminates the discomfort. They are the only sandal which works and it actually is more comfortable than the athletic shoes! I needed one size smaller than my typical shoe, probably because I have a narrow foot.

I love the way they feel. But I took a long walk in them, before they were completely broken in and got blisters on the top of both feet! So don't get lured by the initial comfort!

Bought these as a replacement for a previous pair. These sandals are quite stiff and they are not wearing in quickly. Hopefully with time they will become just as comfortable as my old pair. TTS

Good not great. I replaced an older pair and forgot that these sandals are quite stiff at first. Can't wait until these become my go to sandals once again.

Really nice fit. A little stiff in the foot bed. Nice looking. The leather that went between my toes was stiff and scratchy, and I am not willing to suffer to break them in, so this pair is going back.
