I'm going to Europe soon and wanted a very solid walking shoe for the cobblestones, etc. I have two replaced hips and really need cushioning. These are divine. Like you are walking on air. This model runs pretty true to size but Mephisto advises you order one size larger. Just got the 9's and they will be perfect with any thickness of sock. I bought the tan, which is a classic. Can't imagine why I have not discovered Mephisto sooner! Just bought one of their sandals and waiting for the delivery of one of their loafers. Let me add a PS on this: I could never have found these shoes in a local shop, or the other Mephistos either. Yes, I have to pay for these up front with Zappo's, but I then have the pleasure of trying the shoes on at home, on a carpet, on a wood floor, and taking my time to really evaluate them for me. Not possible in shoe stores. As soon as I return a pair that are not right for me, Zappo's issues a refund on my credit card. Every shoe I have bought in recent years in a shop I have returned. Zappos gives me a huge choice and perfect service. It gets all my shoe business.

These are great shoes. Wore one pair out after 10+ years have in brown and black. Great for the back.

This is my third pair of Mephisto walking shoes. They are expensive to start, but really last and are so comfortable without looking dorky! I wear them with custom orthotics so can't comment on the arch support.

I have a very narrow foot, 8 AA with a 5A heel. This is the only Mephisto shoe that fits my foot. It is the 3rd time I\'ve bought this shoe and each time it has lasted longer than most shoes I own. I love it. It\'s very comfortable, a great walking shoe, and it looks more presentable than sneakers. Yes, it\'s very expensive. But for me it lasts 5 years.

These shoes are perfect so far - my foot feels cradled. The only shoes for which I have not had to use spenco orthotic supports. I've had them a couple of weeks - hopefully these will hold up.

Just purchased a pair of these and wore them non-stop in all kinds of weather in England and Italy. Definitely order a half size up. I think this is the key to a proper fit. Thanks to Zappos shipping policies, I was able to order both my usual size, 8.5, and a half size up, 9. The 8.5 fit the best, but I did some research and found that it is better to go up, even if it feels a bit loose. So I went for it, got the 9 and it ended up being absolutely perfect. I was able to easily return the 8.5 with free return shipping thanks to Zappos. I think the customers who have had problems with these shoes most likely ordered their true size. When I tried on my true size, the fit appeared perfect, but I felt like I could get blisters. With the half size up, it felt a bit big, and I was sure I might get blisters, but this only lasted about a day and I never got a blister.

No More back, Leg or foot pain for this Nurse! I am a nurse, and I walk a lot in the course of my day. I also have some back problems, and have had consistent foot pain over the last few years. These problems have virtually resolved since I started wearing the mephisto rush shoes with an arch supporting orthotic! My friends and family tell me that my mood and energy level is noticeably improved and I no longer come home from work and collapse on the couch! This has been the best $$$ I have ever spent!

Best Ever! I bought this shoe and took it on a trip to Greece. I have a hard to fit foot with normal width but a very narrow heel so most shoes ride up and down. I broke these in on the tour and never had a bad moment. No blisters, just comfort. Most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I highly recommend!

Excellent, I have worn Mephisto for years.. These were a replacement for a pair that had worn out. Zappos provides the best customer service and that is a big selling point for me!

From the moment I put these on, they fit like a glove. They're at least 2 years old now, in terrific shape, with many miles on them. Absolutely love these shoes! Wish I could find them in white. Nurses everywhere would celebrate.

A very well constructed and beautiful shoe.However, no fault of Mephisto the right shoe just isn't comfortable. The shoe is true to size and in the future I might consider reordering.

This is my second pair of these. I have had the first pair renovated by Mephisto twice. I wear them all the time and have gotten countless miles out of them. They provide a very good arch support and are very well-made and sturdy. I like to wear them for my commuter walk and then leave them on all day at work. They look a lot better that athletic shoes for work.

This is my second pair of Mephisto Rush from Zappos and it is as good as the first! They are the best. And Zappos service is second to none.

This is the most comfortable shoe I ever had. My feet used to hurt after walking for few hours, but not with these shoes. I was running different places for at least 6 hours that day, at the end of the day, it is fine, was not sore or in pain. I was planning on buying another pair for my Dad, and myself another one, but don't have the size in stock. I definitely will order another one when the size is available.

This shoe was very small for my foot, which I have felt was a typical size and width. My toes were scrunched. Not sure if need a larger size or what - for this much money, would like to feel that they were true to size knowing they have a large number of American/British customers.

Great shoe. Was searching for a shoe where my feet would not hurt after wearing all day. I took the plunge with the more expensive Mephisto and have been really happy.

When I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, these are always my go to shoes. They fit right out of the box and give super support, plus they are really comfortable. The price is a heart stopper, but they are worth it!

I have two pairs of these and have worn them daily for years including trips to New York and Europe with major city walking. They are sturdy comfortable shoes, and I have a hard to fit foot (wide in front, regular width at the heel, bunions, large half size, areas of pain). However, to find the right fit in this model I had to choose a size that was slightly too big and always use a thick sock. I would have preferred the shoe permit me to wear a moderate sock as my go-to sock. Recently I've discovered another walking shoe by Aravon which I find equally comfortable to this Mephisto and at a much lower price. It may or may not be as durable for the long term but so far I'm a convert. The Mephisto shoe is reasonably attractive for a sensible walking shoe, giving off a healthy European vibe although I dislike the bold Mephisto logo on the shoe.

This is my third pair of Mephisto shoes, second pair of this same style. Prior to my Mephisto purchase, I bought many a pair of shoes trying to find relief from foot and heel pain. Now I just wear the Mephistos and enjoy the terrific support.

Fabulous - This is my second pair after wearing out my old ones. My first pair lasted for years of heavy use and best of all; Mephisto will do repairs (for a fee but worth it, since that extended my use for a few more years). I do a tremendous amount of walking and I'd be lost without them.

I've stood on concrete most of my life and my feet have paid dearly for that. Mephisto shoes are a life saver to me.

Favorite shoe - This will be my fourth pair of Mephisto walking shoes, all of them have been long lasting and hard wearing. They are heavy and not exactly beautiful, but who cares when your feet feel good? I had an ankle rebuilt 18 months ago, and don't entrust my surgeon's handiwork to just any shoe. I wish Mephisto made 11N shoes available in a wider array of styles. I love their sandals, too.
