This shoe is immediately comfortable and within a few days even better, along with a feeling of support. It fits perfectly. I wear them almost every day.

Happy feet - This was a reorder on my part - I have been looking for these shoes for a year because my last pair was looking shabby. I couldn't be happier with them.

Great Shoe - This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I purchased 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and I am very happy. I stand all day at work and usually come home with very swollen and hurting feet and legs. Not since I started wearing my Mephisto Rush shoes. I intend to purchase every color and wear them all the time. Comfortable shoes are truly the best gift I can give myself. Just be sure to get the right size.

Comfort and quality, why buy anything else? The shoes are absolutely perfectly sized and fit like a glove. I am sorry that Mephisto choose to discontinue the light gray shade, but the cream is still very nice.

Mephisto is the best! I bought this shoe for my niece, who is expecting her first child. She thinks they are great! They support her foot very well and she is very happy with their comfort. She owns her own shop and can run around in these shoes all day. I also own the Mephisto Rush in a couple colors. Mephisto is an excellent brand. I have purchased the Rush also for two nieces who are nurses and are on their feet a lot. They are very grateful for the support of this shoe.

The most comfortable shoes I've worn, better than Dansko or Berkies, which is also recommended for us nurses who are on our feet the whole day. Definitely worth the money.

SHOES STRETCHED. I purchased the Rush shoe as well as the Helen sandal recently and while the sandal fees fine, the Rush shoe feels loose at present. My normal shoe size is 9.5 and on wearing the shoe for a while, it feels quite loose at present. Maybe I should have gone to the size 9.

I love the shoe , however it is too large at present

Mephisto's Rush - The Most Comfortable Shoe I've owned these shoes for one and a half years and they saved my life. I have very bad knees and stand on my feet at my job. A friend recommended them. If I could wear them every day for all occasions I would. These shoes are the best investment I've ever made

Four blisters on my heels. My report after the first wearing: this shoe DOES require a break-in period. Although I like the bouncy sole and arch support, and I like that the brown leather looks nicer than your average sneaker, however; the heels rubbed me like crazy and my socks could not save me. I choose to be optimistic and believe that these will become more comfortable with more wearings. They were very expensive.

Rush - I tried two different sizes and they were both too tight across the ball of my foot. I have trouble with my heel & ankle & have been searching for comfortable shoes to work in. I thought these would be good, but after wearing them around the house several times I found they weren't comfortable enough for the cost.

Not for long walks - I bought this pair of shoes to wear to work everyday and squeeze in exercise. After breaking them in for over a week, I started serious walks. After 3 miles, they tore up my feet. Blisters on my heels, metarsal pad and the tops of my toes. I had them professionally adjusted. They still tear up my feet on "real" walks. There is just not enough elasticity in the heel cup. I have a pair of mephisto sandals that are great. To my surprise, they have even improved my posture. This pair of shoes is probably fine for standing all day, but if you want a walking shoe, I would look elsewhere.

I love the look, but was very disappointed with the comfort level. The size was correct, but they just aren't comfortable. I think it's the sole. I can wear them a couple of hours and feel okay, but if I try to wear them all day I'm relieved to take them off. I feel I have to wear these shoes because I spent so much money on them! I have a number of Ecco and highly recommend them.

Too tight - Spent the most ever on a shoe, wore them with special socks, they pinch my toes. Don't seem to help my heel spur and seem like a vise all around giving the feet a tinkling feeling all day.

Not a walking shoe - The most I've ever spent on a shoe, in the hopes it would be what I was looking for in a walking shoe, width in the toe box (no); softness to the foot (no); soft and flexible (no). They are stiff and often hurt the back of my heel and pinch my toes. However, they look very nice and I can tolerate to wear for dress with slacks, but NOT for long walks.

Must be me - I guess I am just difficult. I read the reviews before I ordered this shoe and was so disappointed when it came. I just hated it. I think it runs short and it is such hard leather and so heavy. It will take years to break it in. Plus, I thought it looked like my grandmother's shoes. Zappos is great though.

Painful Experience - I have lived a nightmare wearing this shoes. They damage my plant tissue by abrasion of pressure, it took me two weeks to recover from the injury; I try to return them but they wouldn't take them cause I didn't kept the original box. I use them on the golf course and after that they were unwearable. Sure they weren't leather but cost a lot!! Will not recommended at all!!!

The shoe is no more the same - I have worn the rush for 12 years (four pairs). Had always loved the shoe until this last pair I bought in early May. I can't stand them I think the shoe has changed and that the more it is worn the more it squeezes the feet. My opinion, may be the sole is too springy. I hate my new pair; will junk them ($300!)

Fabulous shoe! Right from the box they felt like favorites! I wore them out for an evening of walking and experienced no discomfort or break-in phase. Pricey, but well worth it! This shoe looks great paired with jeans, and provides a lot of support and cushioning.

I needed a sturdy walking shoe for a trip to Italy where I would be walking a lot. I have a 10 year old pair of this same shoe in black suede which has served me well. The thick sole is great on all those cobblestones. I ordered a 6-1/2 which were very comfortable. I usually wear a 6. Am very happy with Mephistopheles quality and comfort.

Worth every penny! Worked on my feet walking 7-10 miles a day for 7 years. The work was grueling on my fragile narrow feet. However the Rush saved my life & enabled me to continue with a very heavy-duty service related job all those years. I replaced them every 9 months only because I wore down the outside heel and since I could only afford one pair at a time they were worn every day (so the inside got stinky). But the leather never wore at all. If these seem a little stiff at first, just spray the outside with a shoe stretch the first few days to prevent a break-in period. If I ever have to go back to being on my feet all day again, this will be my one & only work shoe. It's not pretty but it is a true workhorse and the only shoe that would insure no stress fractures for me. Couldn't rate the arch as I used my own custom orthotics. This shoe saved me!

This is my first pair of Mephisto shoes. They are so comfortable. More comfortable than the Laser. I'm sending Laser back and keeping Rush. Rush has better arch and ankle support, and feel sturdier than the Laser. I'm a size 8 and Rush felt true to size.

I live in these shoes, mainly because I have hip, back, and foot problems and these are the only shoes that do not make anything hurt! My podiatrist also loves these shoe and tells me that they are an excellent choice. I am in my early 50s, BTW. The Rush is extremely durable and comfortable. They are great for walking. I have even exercised in them consisting of walking on the treadmill, or riding the exercise bike. These shoes have excellent arch support. They look good with jeans. But they are extremely casual (almost like small hiking boots). I wish Mephisto made other dressier shoes based on the Rush sole. I have tried other Mephisto styles that are dressier and unfortunately none of them fit as well as the Rush. Another thing that I like about this shoe is that you can buy new Mephisto insoles for them, and they will feel like a brand new pair of shoes. You can also send them back to the company and have them totally refurbished for less than a new pair of Rush shoes. All in all, a durable, comfortable, supportive pair of shoes, worth the money that you pay for them. They are well-made and last a very long time. You will not be disappointed. They are great for travel where you will do a lot of walking. I have them in a variety of colors and soon will be treating myself to black nubuck. My only criticism is that I wish they were a little dressier or cuter. I have tried the Laser Perfs but they fit funny in comparison to the Rush. Oh well....with all of the physical problems that I have had to overcome (major back pain, hip surgery, sesamoiditis in the balls of my feet), these days comfort trumps style when it comes to shoes.
