These shoes are BEAUTIFUl, classy and classic. The picture does not do them justice. I got the Burgandy and they fit like a glove. I am a 10 M or a 9 1/2 W, so I paid attention to what the other ladies said and ordered up a 1/2 size. They fit beautifully. If you are unsure whether to get these or a more expensive Bass loafer, save your money and get these. When they stretch a little they will be perfect.

My daughter wore this shoe to school and after 9 days the stitching came undone and we now have to take it to a shoe repair shop. 9 days! Sadly, this shoe is a dress code requirement.

These shoes were great until one shoe became very loose and ripped at the seams! I had only worn them two or three times.

I was so happy with this shoe until it started to rip at the seams on one shoe. This happened to 2 pairs with only a few hours of use! Yikes!

I love these shoes but after only 3 weeks the threading started to rip on one side. I had to send them back...I was so disappointed.

First off, Zappos is amazing. I bought these shoes on a holiday, in the middle of the night, and yet received them the next day! What!? Just, awesome. Now, about the Bass Casell. It's certainly a classic, good looking shoe. I was worried it would be narrow, but it fit true to size and it's comfortable immediately. The downside, really, is that the shoe's material is pretty much plastic (or feels like it), but it's a very low sheen. Great value loafer though.

The shoes look extremely long. They are tight across the toes and don't seem to be stretching out to quickly.

I ordered the size I usually get, and it was too small and too narrow even though I ordered a wide. I was very disappointed.

Ordered a pair of these in burgundy for an interview. Beautiful detail all around, and fits well with a little breaking in. The toes seemed a little narrow at first, until I wore them a bit. Excellent quality for the price.

Wore out a wonderful pair of Earth Shoes loafers. Took almost 20 years! Wanted another pair but couldn't find them so came to Zappos. Love the look of the penny loafers. I have a flexible arch meaning my foot is one width at rest and almost 2 widths larger when standing! I ordered the 9 medium. They are very tight but rather than exchange them, because they are leather, I will wear them a little at a time to break them in. I'm afraid to get a larger size or width because then I have to deal with gaping on the outside of the shoe. I do wish it had better arch support. Doesn't compare to the Earth Shoes for comfort right away, I hope they will fill the bill in time.

I don't know how this can be called leather. What I received was simply plastic plain and simple. They don't wear, breathe, or scuff like leather, the inside says man made upper and they retain/create a foot smell like plastic does. Really people?

Classics--just the shoe for the aging boomer nostalgic for the '60's. As comfortable as you remember. As well made as you remember. Great for every day foot wear when every day doesn't involve snow.

Love these loafers! They are good to go right out of the box with no break-in period. I ordered the wide width for my normal width feet and they fit perfectly. This is one shoe to place in your fashion repertoire.

Very narrow shoe. The leather has yet to stretch but I am still hoping it will. Nice shoe except for the width sizing.

After reading other reviews I decided to purchase these shoes. The others were right, they are very comfortable. They fit better then any other shoe that I've had. If you're looking for a good comfortable loafer, these are it.

The shoe runs too narrow. When I crouched down the seam literally split open. I took them to get repaired but it simply isn't the same.

When I first tried these shoes on, I thought for sure they would have to go back, as the toe area was so narrow. However, I love the look so much I tried them on again for the next few days and decided that although the toe area is narrow, they are still comfortable. I think a half size up would make the heel slip. I normally wear a medium width and ordered the medium. I guess if you have extremely wide feet this may not be the shoe for you. I think the more I am wearing them the more they are stretching. They are very dark, almost look like black, except when you have something black up against them. I love the shoe.

Beautifully made leather shoe. Overall quite comfortable. It was a tad snug when I first tried it on and took some breaking in before it felt comfortable. I probably could've gone a half size larger and been better off. I can only wear this shoe with thin socks, but it is otherwise very comfortable now that the heel is broken in.

Looked for years for these and finally found them! I was doing a happy dance when I got them! Great company!

Is it possible that a pair of shoes could fit right out of the box? These did. I tried both the 7 and 7.5W after reading other reviews and found the size I normally wear (7) was just too short. I worry about the leather stretching too much, since I purchased the wide width (again, based on reviews), but time will tell. The shoe is lovely... nice leather and lovely color. I've been looking for penny loafers for a long time... am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with these.

This is a loafer for my daughter. I ordered a pair for myself and they are so comfortable I want to wear them every day.
