This is one of the few shoes (oops, they're not shoes) that fit my criteria: wide toe box with a flat, relatively thin and flexible sole. The typical toe-squeezing narrow toe design is a failure and a hazard to our wonderful human feet. Seriously, look at the human foot, and look at the sole of a narrow-toed shoe. Any 6-year old could tell you they don't match! The Sanuks are a breath of fresh air. My feet no longer feel oppressed by evil shoe design failures.

These are the first pair of Sanuks that I ever had. I own 4 pairs now. These are extremely comfortable "shandals" as I like to call them. I don't wear them with socks and I feel comfortable all day. The black color is more of a gray or really really faded black.

The Kerouac is a little bit sturdier then other Sanuks, perfect for beating a trail down that dusty road, or a spin down the boardwalk on the bicycle. I love these shoes!

Great shoes....WAY TOO COMFORTABLE TO WEAR TO WORK!!! I constantly have to remind myself... No, you are not barefoot, you are wearing Sanuk's!

Love 'em. Just received my Sanuks in the mail today & first thing I did was put them on. They are so comfortable; these are definitely not shoes. I just got back from Vegas where I saw these in a sandal shop at Mandalay Place. First thing I got home I ordered a pair. I love the range of comments I get while wearing them: anything from "why are you wearing your house shoes" to "where did you get them". I also want to thank Zappos for no charge overnight shipping. It was unexpected, but much welcomed! Sanuks rock; get a pair. I will be ordering a solid colored pair soon also. Order 1 size up!

I love these! So comfortable. Despite my usual klutziness in heels, these are very sturdy and walk-able. I get tons of compliments on them.

I heard about these from my boss, who owned the sandals, I figured I’d try them out. I read most of the reviews so I ordered a size larger than what I usually take. Zappos upgraded the shipping to overnight for free so I was pumped! They came in and I tried them on and they were exactly what I wanted.

Comfy, but hot. I really like these sandals and agree with fellow Kerouac wearer reviews. The only problem I have is that they are very hot and although there are holes on the sides, there is not much ventilation. Therefore, my feet sweat in them. Get the thong sandals if you want cool/dry feet for the summer. These will be good for the fall/winter months.

First pair of Sanuks, but definitely not my last. Also my first business with Zappos, and again, won't be my last. Both are GREAT!! The shoes are all I was hoping for, and more. Perfect for bike-commuting, as they pack flat and ultra-light. I don't like taking them off...which is why I need to get another pair, before I wear these out! Only knock is that they look like slippers, but so what? (Also, I knew that Sanuks run small, so I deliberately ordered one full size up, and glad I did. Try them on at a local store, for size, then order from Zappos.)

I have 6 pairs & will buy more as new styles are available. Applying Scotch Guard fabric protector does not discolor them. Some styles feel tighter than others depending on the style/material you select. Finally, I'd rather go about wearing "house slippers" over "rubber clogs" anytime, anywhere, any day.

SANUKS ARE AMAZING - I'll tell ya what, I’ve used so many different pairs of shoes, sandals, flip-flops, boots and everything else on the face of the earth and NOTHING comes close to Sanuk’s. They are the most comfortable, relaxing, and fly lookin kicks ever. This pair wasn't my first and after you spend a few days in them you will never wear another shoe. The "Barefoot Un-Technology" is great also. The way the shoes are so natural encourages you to walk more naturally and my feet feel so so strong after the time they've spent in Sanuk’s.

Great shoe - This is my second pair of Saunk’s and I don’t think I’ll go back to another shoe they are so comfortable and easy to slip on. Why would you want another pair of shoes?

AMAZING - They feel great, but the outside of the shoe wears very, very fast, especially skateboarding or just lightly treading over concrete. It basically falls apart (the foam around the sole).

Great shoe, great service. This was my first order with Zappos and I couldn't be happier...extremely fast shipping and excellent service. This Sanuk shoe, well sandal, is great. It really feels like being barefoot and is extremely comfortable. I don't think I wore another shoe for a week after getting these. (I even wore them to a wedding I found them to be so comfortable and my feet could not part with them.) I've recommended them to everyone around me every time I have them on and I recommend them to you. Great shoes, great comfort. Only drawback on the look was the bottom of the shoe/sandal...it's kind of thready. It's odd, but doesn't really interfere with anything...just different.

DO I have shoes on?? OK, let me just say, WOW. I just got my Kerouac's and couldn't help but to rip my socks off and put them on, I am not normally a sandal/flip flop kinda guy, but these things are awesome! I can already tell that they will be my first option for a long time!! I've been reading over the reviews for months trying to figure out which 'shoes' to get for the summer, and I've been contemplating trying to make the switch to something more relaxed than my Leather casual shoes or gym/workout shoes, this is the way to go, and I don't care who thinks I'm wearing house shoes, these things are great!!!!! I wear an 8.5 EEE and the 9's fit me perfectly!

Get This Shoe - You must wear them all the time. You must get them dirty. You must sweat in them. You must put at least 40 miles on them before you can say anything about them. With pants they look a bit like gangsta' slippers. But with shorts they make you appear at least 20% more relaxed. Just buy the shoe and don't take your life so seriously.

Great and Comfortable! Great Shoe! I wear a 10.5 in tennis shoes and ordered the 10 and they are a comfortable fit. Looking forward to buying another pair of Sanuks from Zappos! I think I ordered the shoe on a Thursday and the shoe came the next day! Quite amazing!

Ninja Shoes - These things are silent and comfortable. They do look like house shoes, but I've been overcoming my aversion to wearing them in public due to how comfortable they are.

Great footwear! These have hardly left my feet since I got them. So comfy! I also think they look good, even if they have a bit of an Old Man slipper feel to them. They started out fitting a tiny bit snug barefoot, but they even fit nice with a pair of socks given a few days of wearing. True to size in my opinion.

Extreme Comfort, Casual Look - I find it hard to even take these shoes off - they are incredibly comfortable. I have completely abandoned my trusty Vans slip-ons. When it comes to comfort, there is no comparison. The look is very casual and may not be to everyone's taste. Worth getting used to though - your feet will thank you.

Great product!! No complaints from me. These are comfy as all hell. I plan on getting another Sanuk product.

Sanuk Kerouac - I normally wear a 10 ½ so I ordered an 11 - perfect fit. These sidewalk surfers are freakin' great. I cannot believe how comfy they are. I am going to order another pair of Sanuks. STOP reading and order yourself a pair, NOW!

One shoe did not fit; was way too tight across the insole and the shoe seemed much narrower than the other. I own 2 pairs of Sanuk Donny's and love them. Too bad the quality control on the grifter is not up to par.
