My recent purchase - I was first time buyer with Zappos and I have to say that the experience was flawless. I have ordered on line before with other companies and was informed I would receive the item at a certain time. Oh, what a surprise they were not delivered when told. Dealing with Zappos, it was not only very simple to place the order but I received the item just like they say. I was so impressed with the service and the staff. So far I am a big Zappos fan.

Great shoe and great website - This shoe is incredibly comfortable and works great with many different outfits. If you can find them in your size, I definitely recommend buying them from this site, because they are harder to find in stores (at least in the size I was looking for). Also, the free next-day shipping is great and very reliable.

Great classic boot - If you know you don't want a tailored cushy boot, but you want a classic boot that will last for years instead, these boots are for you! the fit is slightly loose in the calves, they don't have a ton of padding but have the typical Frye quality. Very high quality leather that may be stiff at first but will break in with time, extremely well-made outer and inner-sole. I totally agree with the other reviewer that these boots are ageless and will go with just about anything, skirts, dresses, leggings, pants. I love them and wear them all the time. The heel is a bit loose on me so I wear socks. They are getting better and better each time I wear them. I got them in my normal boot size (which is a half size larger than sandals or pumps for me.)

Beautiful boot. There's no mistaking that these boots are gorgeous. Beautiful craftsmanship, which makes the price tag easier to swallow. Frye boots are almost indestructible, for sure. I ended up going for the classic engineer instead of these, though. I thought the slimmer toe on these looked odd. Online they looked a bit more rugged. Now I'm ordering the engineer 12R, for the more rugged look. The Veronica was true to size, and 'slightly' tight to get into the boot, but felt awesome on.

I love these boots. However if you have a high arch on the top of your foot near your ankle beware of your size. I went up a half size (7.5 to an 8) to accommodate this and it worked out. They are really comfortable once you break them in, which takes about a week or so. Also be aware that the heel with the leather part slips around on wet floors so be careful. Also buy the weather proofing stuff because they bounce right back if they get wet and you use this.

These are beautiful boots, but I am having problems with the fit! I got them in 7.5 which is my normal size, but I can't even get them on! I have a high arch and I just couldn't slip my foot in. It would be easier if there was a zipper on the side. I am exchanging for a size 8, so hopefully that will fix the problem.

I got these boots in October, absolutely love the look and feel, they are so comfortable yet for whatever reason I get a blister on my heel every time I wear them and have substantial walking to do, so even thought they are so comfy to stand in...not really helping me out in the real world. I've had them stretched in the heel, I've bought very high tech, low abrasion socks...still major blisters every time. I really was hoping for these to be my everyday boot. I'm bummed.

I flipping love these boots, so happy with my purchase. They fit true to size, BUT you should know when you first wear them you heal will slide A LOT! That being said once you wear them for a few hours they start to mold to your foot, and the sliding stops. Now they are perfect. Just enough give and slide to feel comfortable. I absolutely love them. OH and one more thing they are a little heavy but not a big deal.

Bucket list purchase and I love how super comfy and chic these look on a bare leg with a short dress!! They are comfy enough to wear barefoot as the inside is as close to a custom fit as there is in the mass market. My left foot does turn in at the heel so first time out I got a blister. I’ve been wearing them for shorter stints since then to break them in. Great quality and very light to walk in despite the heat of the sole.

Tried the size 7, my usual size, and was surprised that they had no room to spare with my thin socks. I have thin feet and I'm older so did not feel that I could handle a painful break in period. Hello Zappos customer service representative What a genius! I won't get into all the conversation but we decided to try a half size up which she sent that day. I got the chance to have both pairs while making my final pick. Yes the half size up also gave me some extra width so my feet didn't feel wrapped in a boa constrictor. I liked the shorter length better because they're so dang cute but hey, gotta be comfortable. I have the brown that looks like Chocolate. Overall down side so far is a problem with the boots dragging my socks down. I hope with wear, they will get smoother and not so grabbing.

HOLY WHOA! These boots far exceeded my hopes for them. They have great support and cushion. They are super cute. They feel great. The only problem was that I ordered my normal size and after reading many reviews, i decided to exchange for a half size larger. Boy. That was the best thing that I could have ever done. They were perfect. Perfect width, perfect length, perfect height. They are perfect. AND that LEATHER! Don't even get me started. I have Frye Handbags and they are supple and strong and amazing, but this boot leather, it is soft and buttery and smells delicious, and it feels amazing on my feet. It is bar none, by far and away, the best boot I have ever owned.

All has been said already but I have something to add; a comparison to the Frye 12R Engineer boots. The 12R Engineers were my favorite boots, I wore them all fall and winter for like 4 years, had them resoled a bunch of times and finally decided to buy a new pair of boots. My 12Rs are still great, but looking a bit too wrinkled.. Anyway these look almost the same online so I thought I'd upgrade a bit. Differences: 1) the leather is much much softer and thinner. It feels like better quality...the shaft is softer though so it doesn't stand up as straight. Not bad, but a different look. The 12R is more like a motorcycle boot. 2) the shaft is slightly shorter 3) The toe box is MUCH narrower...more pointed (still roundish, not as wide though). It isn't as pointed as a cowboy boot but definitely feels a lot tighter. I checked my other pair of (brown) 12Rs that have not been broken in just to double check it wasn't just that my old pair were super broken in. At first I wasn't sure I liked the changes...but I've been wearing these Vernonica Shorts for a couple hours inside and already they feel comfortable...so yeah I'm keeping them :) I may stretch the toe box a little with a boot stretcher if needed...probably not needed though.

These are the third pair of Frye boots for me. Yes, they take a while to break in! The leather is made for long wear... probably a lifetime if you take them regularly to a cobbler for re-sole and heels. Once they are broken in, the backs will fit perfectly and you'll be able to wear them all day, every day. The toe box is large enough for me to wiggle my toes. You'll want to wear boot socks. They're not meant to wear barefoot or with thin tights. The leather colors are beautiful. None of Fryes are worn out-- some after years of wear. They look better and better with age. Good with skirts and any kind of jeans. I am a perfect 7 1/2 and they fit according to size. I have narrow feet and skinny legs, but with arthritis and neuroma I like a roomy toe box. The leather becomes supple enough in the shaft, and many styles are adjustable, so they are fine for me. I love them, and they suit my style perfectly. The only reason I gave them four stars for comfort is because they need a period of break-in. Be patient and limit the time you wear them until they soften up. It will be well worth the effort!

I fell in love with these boots, especially after finding them on sale! Initially I ordered an 8 which is a half size smaller than I usually wear but I had tried on a 7.5 and thought an 8 would be the right size. They were super tight on my narrow feet feeling more like a 7 or 7.5. I then tried an 8.5 and I felt like I was wearing clown shoes! I ordered another 8 and they fit like a dream. This means a lot since I have an incredibly hard time finding shoes to fit my narrow feet. I think the first pair must have ended up in the wrong size box. I couldn't find a size on them anywhere and did let Zappos know about the issue.

I've been eyeing several pairs of Frye boots for years now. About three years ago, I purchased a pair of the Campus style and I hated the way they fit and sent them back.....they were impossible to get on, the shaft was way too narrow, and overall, they were just too stiff. That kept me from pulling the trigger on a different pair for a while, but I came across these Veronica Shortie boots (in Black Soft Vintage) and they seemed like what I was looking for. I was right! YMMV, but these shoes seem made for my foot. I'm a 9 almost exclusively (every once in a while I'm an 8.5 in some brands), and I bought a 9 and they were completely true to size. They aren't hard to get on, they are roomy enough for thick socks but I don't experience any significant heel slip even without socks. I love the slight slouchy-ness and width of the shaft, since I have muscular calves. I loved them so much, I turned around and ordered them in the Dark Brown Soft Vintage less than a week later. I've worn them several times and it doesn't appear that they require any break-in period. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is my second pair of these boots. ( My other pair is brown) I have a wide foot and am therefore very difficult to fit in shoes. I have always been a fan of Fryes but found them to be very hard soled, heavy and just generally not comfortable enough to warrant the price. When I found my brown pair last year, I was instantly amazed at how I was able to wear them all day from the start. So I spent the last year considering LOTS of pairs in black but when I saw the great price for these, I thought I would go ahead and get them. I have already worn them several times and just like the brown, I can wear them all day and be comfortable. I am a true size 7, bought the 7 and even wear them with wool socks.

I have to disagree with all the comments and recommendations about sizing on this boot. This is important because these boots are expensive. By following the comments, I cost myself a lot of money for a pair of boots I can't wear. I wear a 7. Always a 7. I've bought 84,000 pairs of shoes, boots, sandals in my life and for the most part, if I got a 7.5 they ended up to be big on either first wear or shortly after. So I ordered a 7 in these boots. I could not even get my foot into them. I did actually squish my foot in with a bare foot once but that hurt a lot and for a few panicky moments I thought I would not get them off (there is no zipper). So, I sent them back and got a 7.5. While I could get my foot into the 7.5, I could tell they were tight in the heel (and a bit in the width but no biggie). The huge problem here is that cup for the heel. It digs into the back of my foot, to the point of causing bloody blisters. I went with the comments and kept them thinking somehow a miracle would happen and they would "break in" to the point where they would "cup to my foot". Nope. I have a pair of expensive boots I cannot wear. Love to sit there and look at them because they are very cute (dark charcoal antiqued color), but every single time I try to wear them, bloody mess. It takes several days for that kind of damage to heal before I can walk right again. So not recommended. Then the color was discontinued from Zappos, so recently I bought the black waxy ones...in an 8. Never in my life have I ever had to wear an 8. But, they fit. Sure they are a little loose but with the way the boot is styled, they still hug my feet. I feel like they make my feet look a little big - because I do not wear an 8. But they are very comfortable. They are not stretching out. They fit. End of story. I can actually walk around the mall all day in these. Total comfort. Great quality boot, so 5 stars. Great support, lovely leather, nice traction, I'm still waiting for the shaft to slouch but I can tell that will happen after they break in. I might heat them up with a blow dryer and use a chip clip to hold them in the slouch position overnight and see if that helps. The "soft" colors have more of a slouch from the start. I recommend you go with your bigger half size that you trend toward, then add another half size up. Or like me, if you never trend to a bigger half size, order a whole size bigger, along with your half size bigger. Order both, return the ones that dig into your heel. Zappos has great returns.

This is my fifth pair of Frye boots and I absolutely love them all, especially this Veronica Shortie. You can wear them with almost anything and as always the Frye brand is exceptional quality. For me, I am a size 7½ and that is exactly what fits me in the Frye boots. I am already trying to decide the color of my next pair of Frye Shorties. They may seem pricey to some people but you just cannot beat the Frye brand or styles and they last forever. Of course, Zappos is pretty awesome too with their great, over the top service. They are both awesome!

I love these boots. I got them in spice which is a beautiful light color and perfect for all season wear. They are very soft and therefore a little slouchy. They also run about a .5 size large because my heel kept slipping out when I walked in them. I have ordered a smaller size now. They are quite comfortable in the toe area. Mainly I love the height and color. I will wear them bare legged with shorts and skirts but of course they will be fine with skinny jeans too. Because they are loose fitting in the leg, I am thinking how nice it will be to bunch up some chunky leg warmers into them in them when I travel to colder climates. I also think the loose fit will be nice for weather that is a little on the warmer side. Finally a boot that I think will work well for Florida winters as well as colder climates!
