Compared to my other frye boots that are 9 1/2 this boot was short in a weird way. my toes were at the end yet my heel was crazy slipping while walking. the boot was more narrow than i would ever work to stretch, even another size up. too bad, super cute

Boot was very different from what is pictured. Leather is uniform black - not vintage or varied in any way. Leather at the top is so thin, it falls down immediately. Sole is not brown or having any brown leather layer, but rather an entirely plastic-looking thick black rubber. Boots had a clunky cheap appearance with little character.

I wanted to really like this boot, because they are so fricking cute. Unfortunately, they are hard as rocks and it was like trying to walk on 2 bricks. They don't bend like the video showed, and there's no give at all. I gave the style 5 stars, because they are so cute. I sent them back.

My review comes from the amount of maintenance I have had to give these boots and I am not talking polish. Though these are some of the most comfortable boots I have worn I am really disappointed by how poorly these boots wear. In the 16 months I have had these, I have resoled them and resewn the buckles on to both boots! Regarding the sole, please be aware the Frye boots have a split sole. It has two pieces that meet under the ball of the foot to give better movement. THIS SOLE COMPLETELY SPLIT OPEN IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. I paid $100 to have my boots repaired. Also The stitching came out of the buckles at the top of both boots. Not a challenging repair, but I should not have to repair boots I paid $300+ for in the first year of wear.

After reading everyone's high rating reviews, I almost feel guilty about giving these boots 1 star, but the pair I received does not deserve 5 star. First, the style is really sweet, I will say Frey always has great style. Here's my issue....sizing. I am a true size 7B, & have been for years. I was able to "shove" my foot into the boot but the front was so narrow that it crimped my toes, plus my heel was riding up the back. They hurt so bad on my feet that I couldn't get them off fast enough. I actually had to double check the size to see if a smaller boot had inadvertently got shipped to me...not the case. I am returning these & will keep looking.

I love the look of this boot, but I can honestly say they are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever owned. I bought the half size down since the boot ran big and my food still slips and causes my sock bunch up and I get blisters. I try to suffer through it in order to break them in but by the end of the day my feet are killing me. These were so expensive and not worth it in order to get the look I like. Sorry to say but I cannot recommend this boot and will think twice about buying Frye again.

Well I was excited to order these but the problems started as soon as I opened the box. Did I receive a pair that had already been returned by someone? The interior box was sloppily closed, and the padding/insert was not even in one boot. Only one of the boots had a Frye tag attached, and there was (dog? cat?) hair on the bottoms of the boots. That was very disappointing! Anyway, I thought I could get past these issues if I loved them but when I tried them on, I had to unbuckle them in order to get them over my arches. For a pull-on boot, I don't want to have to unbuckle them each time and rebuckle them. I had ordered a half size up based on previous reviews, but they were too big once I got my feet in them! They have no lining whatsoever, and are a very thin leather shaft, while being kind of thick and clunky on the foot. I did not think they are flattering. The color is a light grey, but it looked darker on the website, and I did not even like the color. Back they are going, and I am not exchanging for a different color or size. Zappos DOES make returning easy, and while I have been a customer for many years, I have never had to return anything before now, and that part is super easy.

Sadly I have to return these. I have never paid this much money for a pair of shoes but I was looking forward to these being my "go to" boots for everything! I am normally a size 10. This size 10 was way way too tight. As it is the boots make my feet look really big so I can't imagine wearing a size 11. I'm sad.

Extremely uncomfortable when I put these on out of the box. I know Frye's need to stretch but these were already slightly larger than my usual size and I was in pain the minute I put them on. I am returning them the very next day. In addition, the quality of these boots does not look the same as Frye boots I've bought in earlier years - they almost looked like "knock offs" to me. Very disappointed in the boot. Not Zappos fault and their service was great but the product was not. I am very surprised at all of the high ratings.

Adorable boot but very narrow. I have two other pairs of Fryes that I love but these are definitely cut differently.
