This shoe disent meet the expectations from all the hype! The was torture for running after the first mile. The cushion soke is hard not soft as it looks. For the price Brook dosent exceed expectations. There's other brands cheaper and deliver. This shoe came with crease in the toe area which assist in pain while running. Not sure if Zappos sell defective shoes. Definitely not worth you time or money.

I'm a heavier runner (6 foot 200lbs with wide feet) and I found the Glycerin Max to be slightly harsh relative to the stack height. I went half a size up to a 12 and the overall fit was still very constrictive and tight for wide feet, and in the heat and humidity of the Southeast USA the shoe didn't feel very breathable - got extremely warm. For a shoe as heavy as this one is on foot, I was pretty surprised with how uncomfortable it was overall given my very specific running conditions. Compared to some other supertrainers that I think of as peers: The Superblast2 is much, much lighter and despite often being considered a firm ride overall feels much more cushioned yet bouncy to me underfoot. I can take the Superblast2 on speed sessions without issue, and I don't know if I could do that with the Glycerin Max. The Superblast2 also breathes better, but is also slightly narrow feeling for folks with wide feet. The HOKA Skyward X might not be exactly the same kind of shoe as it does have a plate, but still in the category of max comfort for long easy miles. That said, I found the Skyward X to be incredibly uncomfortable - harsh underfoot, obnoxiously heavy, and maybe slightly more bouncy/responsive than the Glycerin Max. The Skyward X is also quite warm - if I were choosing between these two shoes, I would prefer the Glycerin Max over the Skyward X. The Puma MagMax Nitro is for me the best of these options. It has the best fit of all the shoes listed for my wide feet, breathes better in the hot weather, and the comfort underfoot is great for long miles without feeling mushy. It probably isn't as fast as the Superblast2, but it's more comfy for me on long hot runs. The MagMax does a better job for me personally than the Glycerin Max or the Skyward X.

I might have liked these if they came in a wider choice. My usual pair (Adrenaline) is already too narrow this season. The Glycerin max in D width was way too tight.

I've worn it for a few weeks, sometimes I feel that there is almost too much cushion and my feet sink and feel the pavement more than I am accustomed to.

The cushion is amazing however the width even in the mens sizing (I usually wear women’s shoes) is narrow. Couldn’t keep because it hurt the outside of one foot

As a runner with over 40 years of experience and a weekly mileage of around 100 miles, I've tried just about every neutral shoe on the market. From Nike's Pegasus and Vomero to the ASICS Nimbus, Saucony, and New Balanceyou name it, I've likely run in it. So when I say the Brooks Glycerin 22 changed my life, I don't say it lightly. It is, without a doubt, the best shoe I have ever worn for my neutral, heel/flat-foot strike. Given my love for the 22, I had high hopes for the new Glycerin Max. I thought, "more cushion, more comfort, what's not to love?" I purchased a "like new" pair from Brooks Restart and was eager to see if it could possibly top its predecessor. Unfortunately, the Glycerin Max was a completely different experience, and not in a good way. My Glycerin 22s are still going strong and feel amazing after an incredible 650 miles. The midsole is just fantastic. In stark contrast, after only 150 miles, the Glycerin Max just doesn't feel good. The ride is disappointingly firm compared to the plush, responsive feel of the 22. The fit was another issue. The standard medium width in the Max feels noticeably narrower and less accommodating than the same size in the Glycerin 22. But the biggest problem was the strange footstrike. The shoe created an odd pressure in my arches and along the outside lateral part of my foot, something I have never experienced with the 22. In conclusion, while I can say the Glycerin Max is a "good" shoe, it simply isn't for me. It pales in comparison to the masterpiece that is the Glycerin 22. I sincerely hope Brooks recognizes what a gem they have with the 22 and doesn't change it, especially after the Glycerin 20 and 21 were not even close to this level of performance. Max, I am sorry, but I don't like you. The Glycerin 22 remains the undisputed king of my shoe rotation.

A problem with the way the heel fits on the foot. Mostly on the right foot.

It was stiffer than expected and very bulky. It is a decent shoe but did not meet my expectations.

Overall the shoe fits great and feels good. Only issue I have is that there isn't much support. The cushion is great but when running I pronate in more due to the lack of support.

I found them to be 1/2 size smaller than my usual size. Put them into my shoe rotation and instantly had issues with shin pain on my right anterior tib. Clunky and heavy. Found other shoes to be more performance oriented and just as comfortable for easy days. Maybe a good mall walker, should have known.

The shoe setup is 5 stars but the design is freaking me out, hence the 3 stars. I have a slight case of trypophobia. The holes at the front of the shoe stretch (and stay stretched as it's not very taut) and combined with the top white layer and underlying grey layer, it disturbs me. If the holes were uniform or if the grey layer were the same white color, I wouldn't have this feeling. I've never experienced this with any another shoe. It's difficult to unsee and since I'm still within the return period, I may return them. Maybe Brooks can change that for the next iteration, please? I love how the shoe looks elsewhere, just not the top of the forefoot.

I liked that the Brooks Glycerin Max provided a roomy toe box; however after wearing them for a full shift in the hospital, the base of my L pinky toe ached so much I had to switch shoes. They did okay on my first run of 3mi but the heel drop almost puts too much pressure onto the toes.

Great for running, but not so much for walkingwhich is how I use the shoe most. There's so much cushioning that it actually feels a bit unstable. I think a stability option would really help with this model.

The cushioning is fabulous, but the shoe is too narrow. Really wish you would come and wide and extra wide. Are you even tried the men's sizes hoping they would be wider but even those seem narrow.

I stay close to the max cushion shoes and these are just OK. For me they weren't great. I couldn't get into a rhythm with them and they felt bulky. What they are really good for is walking. If you just wanted a really comfy shoe for long days on the feet then these are for you. For running.not so much.

Took them out for a short run. I ran 5k and starter to feel a blister develop. Maybe thought they needed more braking in. Took them out for a 10k run and no doubt developed heavy blisters. I refused to believe it was the shoe and decided to take them out one last time and walked home as all the blisters I developed using these shoes reappeared during the run but this time with a vengeance. Not sure why my feet are different but I can't use this shoe. I gave the shoe a 3 star because I love how they look! The shoe is beautiful. The silhouette is beautiful. The design is amazing. I just can't run in them. I hope that everyone else can enjoy them because I want to be seen in these shoes, but I can't handle the blisters that I develop so easily in this shoe. Best of luck to you all.

Almost perfect. It's been a long time since I purchased a pair of Brooks but I heard good things about these on social media. The price tag almost scared me away but with the Brooks Run Happy promise I thought I would pull the trigger. What I enjoyed: 1. It's roomy. I am an overpronator so at no point did I experience difficulty sliding my foot in. 2. It is in fact bouncy. There is a competitor shoe with a carbon plate that offers a similar experience so it was easy to transition over. 3. The build quality. I have about 40 miles in and they look just as good as when I first purchased. 4. They were easy to break in, What didn't work for me 1. I had a hard time picking up the pace. I am not the fastest runner but far from slow and I was only able to hit certain average paces without discomfort. 2. They do not feel good for my long runs. I can squeeze about 13 out of them before they really start to bother me. For me they would would be ideal for 13 or less. 3. The price is more than I would normally spend on a trainer and I dont get enough ROI to justify it. 4. It's a heavy shoe (9.5 oz) 5. It doesn't have a wide option Overall, I think it's worth having in rotation but coming back from a Brooks hiatus I kind of expected more. I don't think this is going to cut the mustard for speed work. You are probably going to need something more firm and responsive.

It was a great shoe and just wasn't for me. It felt flat on longer runs and it's as if the rocker disappeared. The shoe didn't give me the energy return I was looking for with each step. I'm also a heavier runner at 200lbs +\-.

I like the glycerin max although I use orthotics in my running shoes . The MAX is a tighter toe box than the Glycerin 21 ( the shoe I LOVE with nonissues) the MAX caused me to have a rubbing on a toe and some discomfort. If it had a larger toe box I would love it but I will have to return it at this time, for the 21's.

It's a shame I couldn't find the shoe comfortable in size since I really enjoyed the glycerin 21. The fit w the max was either too much room in the the box w my normal size or way too snug and narrow for the size down. Tried both sizes for several days and did light runs. Just couldn't find the right feel. Having wide feet makes it difficult to find the right shoes. Oh well! Just gonna stick to my glycerins for now. Wish Brooks offered more variety and options in their wide collections

I'll start by saying, love the foam, think that's where this shoe gets all 3 stars. I found the upper to be way too plush, too roomy, have a few hot spots on this shoe and normally consider myself wide-footed, I also find I don't get a great heel lock, the balance is there, but something about where the heel height comes up to just doesn't work for me or maybe its the laces, they feel slightly off somehow (sorry not sure how to explain). It's also a bit too heavy and clunky, the rocker feels slightly out of position relative to the density of the foam. I'm mostly a mid-foot striker. After About 100 miles in, have tried it for most things, I'll think i'll run in this every so often for a recovery run in the future as it does protect the legs, but I find the plushness and fit just don't work for me and its a bit too heavy compared to some other options. tldr; slow recovery runs only, bit too expensive for the lack in versatility for me to give any higher than 3 stars, love the innovation with the foam, work out some kinks and this can be special.

Have been running in Ghosts for years. Bought these as I wanted to try a shoe with more cushion. Ran in them about seven times (~40 miles) and they hurt my feet badly every time. Switched back to my Ghosts and the pain went away. I'm sure this is a good shoe for somebody, but I'll stick to the Ghosts.
