Impressed with glycerin max overall . Positives- #1 plush step in feel #2 nice stack without feeling overwhelming high #3 easy to walk in with shoe shape/geometry #4 outsole rubber is impressive sticky plus durable #5 sit within the foam #6 plush upper great feel . #7 DNA tuned foam feels very nice cushioned if it last great new foam from brooks #8 wide toe box compared to most not pointy . Negatives- #1 Price is high #2 heel counter takes break in could be smoother #3 does not come in wide but might work for some ( overall the new glycerin max is very impressive a great new max cushioned shoe from brooks . It can be used for both walking and running . Could be a wonderful diabetic shoe for diabetics that need a max cushion for comfort . Also very stable shoe with max stack surprised plus impressed how stable it actually is . I had a good experience overall only problem is I have wide feet and fit was very close but not quite close enough without irritation. Sadly I had to return the shoes . If your between normal width and wide width shoe might work unfortunately mine are wide period . Will be keeping my eye out for wide in future just in case it's a hit which I expect it will be as long as cushion durability is there . ) great job on brooks for taking the leap and creating something new may there be more to come in future verified purchase unfortunately not my size just a hair less width then I needed mid foot was tight on left foot . Guess it's my loss for having two size different feet makes buying shoes difficult. Lastly so people know it's not waterproof year around shoe as long as used in dry conditions can be used year around .

Really good but too tall and adds pressure on heels a lot due to so much cushioning. But its perfect for knee pain and dont feel anything during long walk or run.

WOW!!!! I had my knee replaced last year and I am just starting back up the mountain. I have been a loyal Hoka walker due to the cushioning. However, when I started running, I needed a bit more shock absorption in the toe box. I tried the Max and its EXACTLY what the doctor ordered!!!! The rocker design also helps to get your foot in the correct position to make a smooth stride.

Worst brooks I have ever tried. I wear a size 9.5 and they felt like clown shoes. The effortless transition mentioned is non existent, every step absorbed all my energy and just how silly I looked my soul as well. The inflated sole is just ugly.
I returned them. I did try them for one run to see if there was something good about them. I think they would make good walking shoes when Im old. Ill try them again in 30 years.

Very excited for a max cushion situation after ~10 years of wearing regular Glycerins. No major complaints but, for me, the heel is a bit slippier/roomier than the regular Glycerin and I'm hoping the next iteration holds my heel in place a little better. Still, this is a great shoe and I can't wait to run it into the ground!

Great shoe. You can really feel the cushioning. It took a little getting used to so I began by walking in them but now feel comfortable in how they feel when I run.

It was a great shoe and just wasnt for me. It felt flat on longer runs and its as if the rocker disappeared. The shoe didnt give me the energy return I was looking for with each step. Im also a heavier runner at 200lbs +\-.

Great shoe. But for $200 could you make a gussetted tongue?

I have every intention on purchasing this shoe. My son had to wear Brooks shoes when he was in boot camp for the Army. I have two pairs and I swear by them. Is it possible for mens shoes to have more vibrant colors? I wear a size 14, and would love wear that. It would especially help me standing on my feet in the classroom.

Light as a feather, and these shoes were just what I needed. For reference, Im a heavier set guy with a powerlifting background and this was my first 1/2 marathon at the inaugural Las Vegas Half Maratjon! I dont think Id be able to get thru my half marathon this past weekend with another pair of shoes on! These were spot on!

The shoe is cushioned great for long runs and everyday runs. I wish it had a gusseted tongue, it tends to slip around.

Normal shoe, I expected it to be of high quality compared to the price , I've run it twice so far and it's not what I expected.

No need to discuss all the specs/materials, etc; I strongly suspect most know, or at least have a good idea, about those things. The DNA Tuned midsole is a very good idea, a terrific replacement for the past (however many?) versions of DNA Loft v Whatever, and very enjoyable to walk/run in. I'm able to use their SMA program, so I own/have owned plenty of Brooks shoes. But, for the life of me, I can't understand why they insist on putting so much padding everywhere in so many of their shoes, especially these. And what's the reason for not gusseting the tongues? I can only wonder why a somewhat sleeker upper and a thinner, gusseted or sock-like wraparound tongue, maybe something akin to those in the Hyperion Max 2, aren't ever used in any other shoes (looking at you too, Glycerin 22). This definitely applies to these. Only one man's opinion, of course, but could this ever be considered in the future, Brooks? Love the 6mm drop (really wish a lower drop would be considered in their other shoes as well) and the midsole is great, although too much for me personally. If any of those ideas could be considered in any future shoes, maybe with a little less than 45 mm of stack, or whatever this has, it would be greatly appreciated. These are simply too much (of everything) for me. Thanks for listening (maybe).

Upper and tongue were too thick and made the shoe too heavy. Max cushion and base are very responsive and well made.

As someone who finds it difficult to find a shoe with a good fit. This was a pleasant surprise. The wide-toe box gives me no trouble getting my feet in these puppies. These are the perfect recovery run shoes. The cushion from the new foam makes you forget these are even on your feet. I know these shoes will give me no issues running anything from 1 mile to 13.1. I cant wait for more colorways.

I am a lifetime runner who cannot run anymore. Knees. My Ortho says no hi impact running or surgery. I have been looking for a supportive shoe with the best possible pavement impact protection. Have owned many Hoka shoes and they were OK.
Decided to try the new Glycerin max. First few feet on the pavement and you immediately notice the difference. Very soft isolated pavement feel but not marshmallow like. Great support. Soft impact and the front cut in the shoe helps to push you off.
Love the color as well.
Last week got caught in the rain and the shoe was excellent on a slippery wet road.
Im enjoying my time in the shoes. looking forward to hitting the pavement again. Now to find a model that this good for every day walking .

VERY comfortable, cushy for running but also everyday use as a healthcare worker. I normally wear Glycerin GTS. With these I feel the outside of my pink toe rubbing a little more than normal. Still undecided if I am going to keep them or not, we will see if I get used to it or it gets worse. It's been 2 weeks so far.

I love cushion. I need cushion. I'm 72, and less than a year ago I broke my ankle in a spill outside my home. I have a screw in there, and I'm less than a year removed from surgery. Although I'm essentially recovered, I still feel like I need to favor my ankle. That means, as a runner, I'm trying to progress from a trudge to a jog. The Glycerin Max is the perfect shoe for me because I need my runs to be as easy and comfortable as possible. They give me a nice cushion and help my runs be as effortless as possible. My goal is to run in a 10K next spring, so I'm hoping the GlyMax will be my companion now and on race day. Please keep this shoe available for runners like me!
