It's a big shoe, but that means it's very protective/stable - great for easy recovery miles. It also looks good/stylish. I returned because the price - it's way too much money for a recovery shoe. I'm sure someone can argue that you'll get your money out of it, but I only spend that much on shoes I'll race in. I appreciate Brooks allowing me to try them non jeopardy.

Got this shoe for my easy and slow long runs. The foam on this shoes is super comfortable! The shoe has a nice roll with the front rocker to turn over the shoes, does not take very much effort. Legs are feeling fresh after long runs that normally would cause some stiffness in other shoes. Not the fastest shoe on the block but for the size of the shoe I was impressed with how easy it is to turn over.

Not bad. First run the shoe felt awkward and firm. 10 miles OOT box. I have 65 miles now in 3 weeks on these and they have gotten softer and ride better. The toebox is narrow though and my pinky toe is getting rubbed a bit. Overall, not a bad offering. I can see getting 400 miles out of these easy.

They're good. I've used them during running on my treadmill. No issue at all. They have a nice pop or bounce which makes my stride feel natural. I live in Nashville Tennessee. This is my honest review, I'm not a bot or script. Lovely stuff. I really do like these shoes a lot. I think I might buy another pair for day-to-day use. Someday.

Great feel and energy. I was a little concerned about running on a snow-covered trail the second time out in these shoes, but they did great - almost like snow tires :-) ! I went up a half-size from my last running shoes, so I am now a full size larger in running shoes than my everyday "street" shoes.

Good shoe. I'm 230 lbs so I needed a comfortable shoe. This was it. Only wish it came in GoreTex waterproofing and had more color ways. Fit was good and keeps feet and shins from fatiguing too fast.

The Glycerin Max had definite heel slippage. Having owned 15 pairs, this is the first Brooks shoe that has had this problem for me. The whole heel collar needs tweaking. Hopefully, the next version will have this fixed. Great return experience.

Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn bar none. Very springy and minimal fatigue makes for pure pleasure in these kicks! Put 'em on and you won't take them off. Makes you want to be active and encourages movement! A win win...Did I say they help with foot pain? and fatigue? Buy them! You won't regret it!

It is my favorite running shoe to date. I already want a few pairs on hand just to have. Perfect for my wide feet, enough room for my toes to breath and the cushioning is absolute PERFECT. I have no desire to run or train in anything currently and Im beyond satisfied. I dont think I can find anything wrong with it.

I have to agree, Brooks make some seriously comfortable running shoes! I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but I'm so glad I did. My feet have never felt better, and my runs are so much more enjoyable. I can definitely see why people rave about them. They are worth every penny!

I am not a runner but a senior citizen having lower back pain at the age of 54. I was serously looking for the most comfortable shoes for walking and all day wear. Tried another popular brand but the shoe was tight in mid foot area and suffered blister. Heard good things about Brooks Glycerine Max but couldn't find it middle east and distribution in Dubai was not responding. So decided to proceed with online order from US via forwarding address in US. Received satisfactorily, unboxed it and wow. The design is perfect to my taste. Next, the moment I put my feet in, I knew this is what I wanted. Plush, roomy, utmost comfort and wonderful energy return for walking. Using it for couple of weeks now I would say it's the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on. Really happy with my purchase and highly recommend for walking and all day wear especially for senior citizens.

My use is for 2.5 mile spirited walks. The Max feels great and I love walking in them. It just a comfortable wide platform with aggressive toe off. Not sloppy at all. It's has a high stack so it's built for foward motion, not casual errands. I use the Max for walking and the Glycerin 21's for walking and errands.

Favorite shoe in the rotation right now. I bought it as a recovery day shoe, but surprised that I was able to pick up faster paces effortlessly. Would recommend if looking to get into the max-stack shoe game!

I never ran. Started running. Ran 4 miles max. Put on these shoes. Ran 3x longer. Seriously though, this shoe is so great, I compare it to adidas ultra boost, which is not a conventional running shoe but Im sure there are a lot of people wondering why but a real running shoe. Trust me, you will be mind blown.

I bought these because I am big fan of Max Cushion shoes. With a bad knee and hips that dont always feel the best, these types of shoes always help. I have never owned a pair of Brooks prior to these, so I have no frame of reference when it comes to how these feel in comparison to other Brooks. What I can compare these to is almost every Max Cushion shoe that has come out this year from all the major brands. These definitely stand out in a crowded market. They have a very unique feel. Being extremely soft and plush without feeling over squishy or unstable. The very first day I had them I wore them to work for a ten hour shift, to break them in a bit before actually going out and jogging in them. I finished my shift, went home, knocked out a five mile jog, and still felt fresh after it was all said and done. No foot, leg, knee, or lower back pain to speak of. Every other pair I have had this year of the competitors brands always felt good at the beginning of the day but, never could take me all the way through without them giving up in one or multiples of those categories. Despite the price, I was so impressed and convinced these would be amazing for my use cases, I bought them in two colors. My Only draw back with these is they are not as breathable as I would like them to be but the plush step in feel and overall comfort after wearing them all day is a small sacrifice. You might scoff at the price or even the styling but these are a Absolute Must Have for people searching for Ultra Comfort and an Unrivaled Feel overall that you will not find in any shoe of its kind. Keep making these Brooks, and you will have a long term customer.

As a serious runner Ive been a loyal fan of the Brooks Glycerin for years. Naturally, I was eager to test out the Glycerin Max, particularly after hearing about the increased cushioning. The moment I laced them up, the plushness underfoot was undeniablean improvement even over the already well-cushioned standard StealthFit models. However, after a week of running in them, my excitement began to wane. The substantial stack height, while initially comfortable, proved problematic during actual runs. The midsole felt overly bulky, and the added height significantly compromised stability. I constantly had to focus on maintaining precise form to avoid the sensation of teetering or stumbling. For runners with a midfoot or forefoot strike, this lack of stability can be particularly frustrating, especially at higher paces. I hoped that with more mileage I might adapt to the design, but the instability persisted. While the Glycerin Max excels in comfortmaking it a great option for walking or recovery daysit simply doesnt deliver the performance or control needed for serious running. Compared to the standard Glycerins, which strike a near-perfect balance between cushioning and responsiveness, the Max feels more like an attempt to chase trends in the maximalist shoe market rather than a purposeful upgrade for runners. Brooks appears to be competing with other brands in the race for ever-increasing stack heights, but theres a point where excessive cushioning becomes counterproductive for serious athletes. While the Glycerin Max might suit recreational runners who prioritize comfort over performance, it doesnt hold up for those of us seeking a reliable, stable, and performance-oriented ride. For dedicated runners, the standard Glycerin remains the superior choice.
