The fit of these shoes were not terrible. They had good support and quality. I did return because they felt a little tight in the heels. My main complaint is their terrible customer service. I returned these shoes over 4 weeks ago and have not received a refund. It's been two weeks since I emailed customer care about it with no response and there's never anyone available on the chat services. I don't even know why they have it. It feels like I'm communicating with a ghost town and I'd just like my money back for these rather expensive shoes.

I just started trail running this past summer, so I am still very much a newbie. I started with a pair of Timp4's and loved how comfy they were out of the box, but did not love how quickly they fell apart on me. I used my warranty through Altra to get some Experience Wild's and I LOVE them. They are equally comfy, but (so far) seem far more durable. I also like the slight drop and extra cushion. They are lightweight, and I am thus far super happy with them. I wear a 7.5-8 in shoes and the 8 fits perfectly in these.

So initially I was expecting the toe box to be bigger but after wearing them a few weeks I have plenty of toe room. I got my first barefoot shoes a few months ago but I'm far from ready to wear them at work all day. So I was looking for a low drop work shoe that would help me transition from my high support shoes with orthotics to my barefoot shoes. And these shoes are the perfect in between. I work healthcare and do a lot of walking but I didn't need to ease my way into these shoes. They're just perfect out of the box. One of my arches is completely collapsed after an accessory navicular injury so there was a day of soreness on that foot but after the first day I've had no pain. The weird cushions inside the shoe around the Achilles area threw me at first but I don't even notice them now. My only complain about this shoe is that the laces are TERRIBLE. I haven't had to double knot my shoes since middle school lol. But that's an easy fix. Also i do wanna echo others that the black shoes are totally not black. Especially with the blue detailing they look blue. But luckily my work scrubs are navy so it's fine. I'd be disappointed if I bought these shoes to wear outside of work and expected black though. Overall I love these shoes and I'd buy them again

Worn Altra for years and I am a road runner. I have been looking for something with grip, a little cushion, and was water resistant. These shoes are PERFECT! Feels great on my feet, Not bulky

I ran in the Dragon's Back Race, days 5 and 6 in these shoes. They were outstanding going from trail to road in providing some extra cushion. Will keep these in my rotation!

I really like the wide toe box. Heel fits right. I'm wearing it on road and trail. The cushion and firmness are great.

These are just a tad more narrow than my Olmpic 5s. Such a great deal on sale! Bought my husband a pair and ordered another pair in black for myself. Even if they fall apart in a while they are so dang comfy and we will just wear them until they do! I will say the black pair is almost blue because of the underlay. And the blue mens color is very vibrant.

I have been looking for my unicorn trail shoe. I LOVE altras shape of shoe. It it perfect how they have the toe box as wide as they do to let the forefoot sprawl out naturally. PLEASE DONT CHANGE IT EVER ALTRA! It is the same on every type of shoe which is great. BUT downside is that I can't run long runs or ultra distances with zero drop shoes. I can do it with 4 to 5 mm. This show fits the bill! This show is perfect for 50K or less trail runs. Just enough grip so I'm not sliding on gravel or rocks..8 have been wearing this shoe on my local trails and it gets an A+. Only downside is that the cushion is not enough for more than a 50K. I wish it was because I need a shoe for my Kodiak 100K. I'm thinking of trying another Altra shoe, I just don't know about zero drop for that distance.

These shoes are great! I got these shoes before a trip to Japan. I walked 20,000+ steps a day for 10 straight days. The shoes held up very well and my feet were ready to go the next day. They have a sturdy tread that really helped on uneven surfaces. I'm looking to get another pair in a different color. Very pleased with these shoes!

I've really been enjoying this shoe! I have been running in Altras for several years, usually in the timp or outroad, this is the first time I've tried this line. I like the cushion and the way it fits my foot. So far I'm very pleased!

I will use these for work. I'm a Respiratory Therapist that works 12 hour shifts. So far they work well for me. Hoka has been my go to, but wanted to give the wider toe box Altra a try.

I bought a size 10.5 and runs true. I switched to Altra for the extra toe room and have been pleasantly pleased! And I was surprised to find these shoes so comfortable and cushiony, not only on the trails but in any activity. I have worn Saucony Peregrine for many years but needed the extra toe room as I'm now in my 60s and my feet have changed. These Altra Experience Wild are winners and I've found a new love for my new trail running shoes with Altra!

I searched for a few months, trying different shoes and finally tried the Altra Experience Wild and fell in love with them immediately.
These shoes took me over 1000 km across Spain on the Camino De Santiago. The wide toe box allowed room for proper foot movement and a bit of swelling without feeling compressed. The shoes were snug and I only suffered one small blister due to a malfunction with socks. The treads held up very well for them entire journey on all types of terrain. The top material was held up with no holes and was breathable. The laces held up with no issue. The foot support lasted very well however by the end nearing 1000 km they were definitely wearing out. The Altra Experience Wild comes with a 4mm drop which I was so happy about. I was afraid to go to a 0 drop show for this distance.
The Altra Experience Wild is my new favourite shoe for hiking and trail running. I highly recommend this shoe. I have just received my second pair of the identical shoe and I look forward to trying the Altra Experience Wild 2. Thank you Altra for giving me a comfortable Camino.

I have Morton's Neuroma and have been struggling to find comfortable shoes. This shoe has worked very well for me! Enough arch support ( though I did use an orthotic) and great toe room. I'm very happy with these shoes!

My son recommended this shoes for either road or trail running. I love the color and the design. On my first trail run, I noticed they actually bother my right toes but weirdly not my left. So I'll say to go 1/2 size up. They felt super comfortable and I really like them. So I just gave my 9 to my mom and bought me another pair 1/2 size bigger. Hopefully this will fix my problem!

I love this shoe. I work as a nurse and this feels great on my feet. It took a full shift and half of the next for my feet to get used to them but after that I love them more than Brook's.

Love these, bought the road version too but prefer the trail ones. My feet always hurt after runs, but these shoes definitely dissipate the aches. Great fit and flow.

To say I'm in love with these shoes might seem like hyperbole. I'm not a big spender and I now own three pairs. I love these shoes. The toe box is perfect. The laces stay tied. I purchased the gaiters and they've been perfect for keeping little leaves and pine straw from getting in my shoes.
The Experience Wild's have become my trail besties as I prep for 500 miles of walking across Spain.
I may worry about a lot of things for my trip but one thing I am not worried about is my shoes.
Well done, Altra. And Buen Camino.

These are one of my favorite Altra shoes by far. I've not been a fan of Altra the last few years as I have noticed they veered from what works. These are incredible shoes. So comfy and all day wear.

I really like these shoes. I’m either going to buy another pair now and put it away for later, or try the Lone Peak.
I'd also recommend:
I also love Hoka trail shoes.
