So grateful for the Altra Wilds!!! I swore off zero drop after years f wearing them. When I heard Altra made a trail shoe with drop I was immediately intrigued. I love the Wilds so much I bought a 2nd pair. Love the room in the shoe & the grip on the trail is amazing. I ran 46 miles in my Wilds yesterday, no toe, knee, or hip issues. Love them!! 5 of my friends have also purchased Wilds on my recommendation

I purchased these shoes at my local store in mid-December. I have been wearing them practically ever since. All other shoes are in the closet. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. They were great in a bit of snowy weather we had while on Christmas holiday. I think I will go back and buy another pair! (I am not a runner, nor specifically a hiker, but I do walk quite a bit and require a comfortable, practical shoe...these are it!)

I have 12 pairs of Altras and I am always ready for more. This is my 1st pair of the Experience Wilds and I am in love. I will be buying this style again and again. My favorite style is the Timp.

I was finding my feet and back sore after walking and hiking in my trusty Merrells. These altras feel wonderful and have made hikes with my dog enjoyable again. I also wear them to work where I am on my feet a lot and they are great. I bought another pair of Altras, runners with the same 4mm heel rise, that I use for everyday walking. That heel to toe drop feels just right for my back. Plus I love the firm support, cushioning, roomy toes, and how lightweight they are.

I've worn Altras since they first came on the running scene. I owned the original Escalante, all the way to the Escalante 3 now 4. Same with the Lone Peaks. I normally wear an 8.5 in both the Escalante and the Lone Peak. As my feet have spread out, I now wear an 8.5 Wide in the Lone Peaks. I decided to go for a size 9 in the Experience Wild and boy am I glad I did. They fit perfectly.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka, Merrell, New Balance

FINALLY! It feels like Altra is back on track. Had my first run in these and I feel like I could go on forever. Proper support, less heel bulk and no rubbing. A huge winner! Please don't mess with these, Altra!!! I'm calling you out! These are perfect!

Best. Shoe. Ever. Recently got into trail running and purchased these. They were great out of the box and carried me across my first official finish line this weekend. Ordering again.

I love to take long walks and hikes but have foot issues of heal shock absorption, sore ball of the foot, and a toe numbness - these Altra Experience Wild felt incredible right away - I love them!

I bought for backpacking on the CT. I just finished a few segments, but was backpacking for four days. No hot spots or blisters, just comfort and grip. Laces stay tied without double-knots, I had ample toe room, and they were comfy all day on the trail. They gripped rocks and did well in the mud and on roots. I could not have been happier.

I've been using lone peaks for almost a decade, and these feel so much better for me. I am able to hop around on the trails so much more, and I'm already ordering another pair to add to the collection!

From the moment I took my first steps in these shoes I was in love. They're super supportive and feel like they're hugging in all the right places. I didn't realize they were trail shoes when I bought them but quickly noticed the grip and now I'm even more glad I got them. I'm also in my purple era so I looove the colors!

I like taking outdoor walks during my workbreaks so as someone who spends long hours in heels or ballet flats the Altra Women's Experience Wild shoes have been a lifesaver. They're incredibly comfortable with a roomy toe box that lets my toes spread naturally, which feels amazing after being in tight shoes. The cushioning is amazing and I felt like I was walking on clouds! There was a bit of an adjustment period, but now I can't imagine going back to less ergonomic walking shoes. If you're looking for a blend of comfort, support, and style I highly recommend giving these a try.

I have received this product for free in exchange of my review. Compared to other running shoes I've tried, Altras stand out with their unique combination of comfort and support. The spacious toe box and zero-drop design provide a natural running experience, reducing strain on my feet and legs. Owning a pair of Altra shoes comes with numerous benefits. They are incredibly lightweight and breathable, perfect for long runs and everyday wear.

These are very comfortable running shoes. I ran 3 miles in them and had no issues. They have good support and feel light. They are true to size. I wore them with thin no show socks. I would recommend them.

As an avid hiker, I'm always on the lookout for gear that performs well on tough trails, and the Experience Wild trail running shoe doesn't disappoint. It's impressively lightweight, making long runs feel easier, and the grip is fantastic, even on slippery or uneven terrain. The midsole is responsive and gives a great bounce with every step, while the MaxTrac outsole provides reliable traction and durability. I also appreciate the GaiterTrap which keeps debris out effectively, and the no-sew overlays that offer decent toe protection. With a 4mm drop and a rocker shape, the shoe promotes a natural and efficient stride. The roomy toe box and secure midfoot fit make it comfortable for longer runs. Whether you're tackling rolling hills or steep climbs, the Experience Wild is a solid choice for any trail runner.

I sometimes have issues with running shoes making my toes numb - even when they are the right size. I don't have wide feet, but I've found this to be an issue in most models from the bigger, trendier brands. This caused me to only wear running shoes when I absolutely had to. These Altra's are different. I can actually wiggle my toes! I have no numbness at all. I've been wearing these like crazy since I got them. I love the grippy sole and the darker colors - mine are dark blue/black. I did receive these on promo to test out but I can honestly say I would purchase them if these ever wear out. I'll recommend them too. Give them a try if you'd like to wiggle your toes in your running shoes!

I received a free pair of the Altra Women's Experience Wild trail runners in exchange for my honest review. I'm very glad I received them because I might not have otherwise picked Altra shoes to try. I like to run on rocky technical trails and the holy grail for me is a shoe with enough cushioning to keep my feet from hurting but enough sensitivity to feel the roots/rocks/whatever that might trip me up. When I first looked at this shoe, I thought it would have no sensitivity whatsoever but I was pleasantly surprised. The cushioning is the best feature of these shoes and I can't wait to do some longer runs in them. I can feel the ground really well but they also manage to feel both light and cushioned. I like the roomy toe box, which I'm hoping will stop my toes from going numb on longer runs (not tested yet). I also like the muted blue/grey color scheme of the pair I received because I'm not a fan of all the crazy loud colors on so many running shoes. My only nitpick would be the inward curved shape of the shoe -- when you look down at your feet, they seem to be pigeon-toed, which makes me keep trying to correct my gait. Not sure why the shoes are so curved but I can learn to ignore it since they are otherwise great in every way!

Really nice running shoes. Took my dog for a run in the woods behind our house for 30 minutes and no complaints. Normally new shoes hurt the first time breaking them in and they already felt like I've been wearing them a while. I would highly recommend!

Altra kindly gifted me these trail running shoes in exchange for an honest review. FIT - 4.5/5. I have a really high instep and slightly wider ball of the foot, medium arches. The shoelaces stretched to accommodate all dimensions of my foot, and while it was a bit snug around the instep, as most shoes are for me, it wasn't tight. Really snug and secure. I am a 7.5 in other running shoes and found these to fit true to size. STABILITY - 100/5. Seriously I cannot express how stable and secure these shoes were during a technical trail run. I felt support in the arch, sides of the heel, ankle, and nothing was moving around or sliding. Incredible. WEATHERPROOF - 4/5. These shoes are not advertised as waterproof but I took them through 2 small streams of water and it seems that the sides have some water resistance. The top of the shoe does not have any protection, but it was enough to keep my feet dry during my run. GRIP - 5/5. I really tested these shoes and took them out on the tails after a storm. They handled muddy inclines, rocks, slippery rocks. I exercised caution of course but was really impressed with the grip and feel confident in taking them on more technical hikes. COLORWAY - 5/5. These are advertised as black but they are actually a beautiful dark teal color, which I am quite happy with. The pop of blue laces are great. Overall I loved running in these these, they are a great choice and I definitely recommend.

I received these as a promotion and was very excited when they arrived. I immediately put them to test them out. The toe bed on these shoes is everything I've been looking for. No crammed toes, no painful rubbing, just space! The slight drop in the heel is what took the longest to get used to, but after a few runs my body has adjusted without a problem. The traction on these is amazing, too amazing for indoors in fact! You will deadstop on a wood floor without even trying. On the trail this gives grip I need. The cushioning is thick enough for the terrain yet flexible and supportive. My ankles feel secure and supported, and nothing rubs. This is my first pair of Altra's and I'm hooked. I plan on getting a pair of their walking shoes now as this toe bed shape is now a must for me.

I have been on the hunt for trail running shoes that don't give me terrible arch blisters and these are it! I would highly recommend these to anyone who is looking for a reliable trail running shoe. These shoes are true to size and are supportive in all the right places but feel very lightweight and conform to your feet. I will definitely be repurchasing these shoes when they wear out!
