Altra is usually so good on my feet but these were just off. Specifically the right foot. Idk if this pair was defective but the right shoe has a major curve to it and it made my toes rub the side. I noticed it right out of the box before I even tried them on. Bummer

Good looking, great color and I wanted to love them, but the build outs in the heel were uncomfortable and put too much pressure along the achilles area for me. Maybe it wouldn't bother someone else.

Excited that Altra is starting to make low drop shoes, and not just zero drop like they use to only make. These are a 4 mm drop which is what I have worn for years. Super hard to find this niche of drop in a good quality running shoe. I also like that this is a combo road and trail running shoe without a rock plate since I've been told you shouldn't wear a shoe with that on asphalt or concrete. They have a little arch support. I ended up putting my Currex inserts in them instead. Good toe splay room. I bought a 7.5 which is my normal size. They are a pretty stiff shoe, though. I assume that may be to help when used for trail running? I wish Altra could Keep the 4mm drop but make the sole thinner and an overall lighter shoe. I wore this in a half marathon. My feet actually got sore where they haven't before. But I am going to keep these because my knees stopped making cracking sounds since I've been wearing them. My knees started making cracking sounds when I started wearing Saucony Kinvaras. Could not find a better 4 mm drop shoe so had to keep wearing the Kinvaras. Glad to be done with those but I do miss how lightweight they were.

I wanted to love these. The style and color are great. The cushion and grip feel great. While the toe box is wide, it is not deep enough at the edges of the toes and it squishes my last three toes and creates a cramped feel. So sad to have to return these because I think they would be amazing on the trail if there were more room in the depth of the toe box.

So disappointed. I was so hoping these would be the ticket to comfortable hiking shoes. I wear a 9.5 in most sneakers (never bigger) and ordered same. They are way short in the toe. My second toe is longer than my big toe and longest toe hit the front. To uncomfortable to keep and larger is not available in the black. The black is a gorgeous blue/black set off by blue laces. Good looking shoe.
