Ive been a loyal Adrenaline and Ghost user for over 15 years, so when I decided to try my hand at trail running, I figured the Brooks Cascadia 18 would be a good place to startand Im glad I did! First off, I love the look and feel of the shoe. Its comfortable right out of the box and feels solid on both technical trails and more moderate terrain. The shoes performance has exceeded my expectations; it grips well and offers enough stability without feeling bulky. The rubber toe cap is a great feature, providing just the right amount of protection from rocks and roots without being overly rigid. As for the tread, it strikes a nice balanceaggressive enough to handle tricky trails but not so deep that it becomes cumbersome on smoother sections. Its versatile, and Ive found it works well in various conditions. My one gripe, though, is the wear Ive noticed on the inside heel and heel collar after only about 100 miles. The fabric is starting to fray and break down, which is disappointing given how durable the rest of the shoe has been. I dont want this to overshadow the overall performance, but its something to keep an eye on if youre doing higher mileage. Despite this, Ill definitely be buying these again. The comfort, protection, and traction are fantastic, and I feel confident these will work great for most trail running scenarios. If Brooks could improve the durability around the heel area, this would be a near-perfect shoe for me. Highly recommend!

Didnt get to the running part. The little straps that hold the shoe laces broke almost immediately so I returned them.

The shoe was comfortable right out of the box. I usually get a wide but these shoes didnt offer a wide so they were more snug which actually felt good on my foot. The soles felt thicker and offered more cushioning than my merrells. I definitely would buy more brooks. The one thing i would change is something cosmetic, the mutated nike swoosh logo. That has to go. In my opinion it makes the shoes look cheap. Get rid of that swoosh thing and just have BROOKS the shoe.

Brooks were my first trail running shoes back in the early 2010s. I ran numerous long races with them and they were excellent. Since then, I have tried many other shoes, including specialty brands like Hoka and Altra. While those are nice, coming back to these shoe feels right at home. Simply put, its perfectly balanced. No gimmicks. Great traction. Great fit. Just enough cushioning. Excellent ground feel. And they look cool. Glad to be back in a Brooks trail running shoes.

These have been great training shoes. Ran a 50k trail in them. Great traction even on wooden bridges with morning dew on them (my Hoka Speedgoat5 were very slick on this type of surface). My feet were hurting me between miles 11 and 12. At mile 20 aid station I switch to my Salomon Thudercross6 and the back half of the race was better. I like the shoes but for me they would only be the choice for a half marathon or less, especially if there were a lot of slippery surfaces. No perfect shoe, but I picked the wrong shoe for me and my event.

Ive worn the Cascadia since the first model was released. Its one of those shoes that continues to improve with each new model. It is my go-to trail shoe, and it has great traction in snow.

It took me a year to get this shoe. I have an older pair and liked them. I wear a size 15 and when new color/shoe came out I knew I wanted them . For me they don't disappoint and I love the colors.

After about one month, starts out a little stiff but loosens up nicely. Comfortable toe box for my wide feet. Good quality materials. Traction good on most trail surfaces and usable as an around town walking shoe. For my heavy duty back country hiking easily replaces older heavier boot-type boots/shoes.

Absolutely love them. Extremely comfortable and durable for my long 5-6 mile walks. Great support for my ankle as well. I will be purchasing another soon.

I love these shoes. They are perfect for a lighter weight hiking shoe. Comfortable, supportive, not too firm, and stable. I am very happy with my decision to purchase.

I didnt like them. I have used the Glycerin for years and bought these for a change. Same size as always. They were very snug. Also very stiff (sort of expected as they are a trail shoe) but rubbed and caused blisters. Off to Goodwill after two weeks.

Used on dirt / mud / sand trail. Traction was really nice balance between grip and comfort. I prefer a little more support and a higher drop but i expected this when i bought them (brooks doesn't seem to like making trail runners for over pronation). Fairly comfortable but not as nice as my adrenalines. Again, to be expected when looking at the increase in ruggedness. Sand got into the shoe from the trail. Reinforced material at the toe is nice addition, but would add a little height as I initially felt the top of my toe against the inside of the shoe. Not an issue while on trail. Not a bad looking shoe for the trail, even though colors look like a 10 year old's bicycle. Good shoe for starting out trail running.

These are outstanding trail shoes; durable, safe and comfortable. Ive worn my current pair for a 600 mile Camino in Spain and at least 400 additional miles since then on trails and they are just showing some minor tread wear and ankle padding fraying. At 1,000 miles of varied hiking conditions theyre still in overall good shape and Im still wearing them for about 70 miles a week still. Ive had no blisters and they have great traction and stability.

I have worn Brooks shoes for many years (Brooks Adrenaline GTS). This is my first time trying the trail shoes. Overall I am pleased with them BUT I'm a little disappointed that there is not more cushioning.

I've owned 8 pairs of Brooks runners, and all of them have felt great right out of the box. but these are different. Stiff, feel flat soles, tight width in med. They're going back.

The Cascadia 18s are my 4th pair. The quality has been consistent over the years in my opinion. I have a narrow foot and these work the best for me when cross shopping the other big names in trail shoes. In my usage case, one pair lasts two years. My only knock is the GTX version of this shoe seems to have gotten less water resistant over the years. I will purchase again if Brooks continues to offer a great shoe like these.
