Cute, but the ankle straps don’t go around the ankle to buckle!

The two shoe don’t even fit the same. One fits nicely and the other shoe pushes my foot forward!

That need to make this in a 35. Way too long. Width was good.

The footbed and arch support felt great! I have other shoes by this manufacturer, so I ordered my usual size. This pair seemed smaller. It could be because the heel strap (which is not adjustable) pushed my foot forward on the sandal, leaving too much room at the rear of the footbed, and not enough at the front, so that my toes were at the very edge of the sandal. Also, the leather is not soft at all, and I was concerned there would have been redness and possibly blisters because of this. So I returned them. I wanted to give 3.5 stars, because the strap/size issue is a pretty big deal so one star off for that, and then the stiff leather issue, which might (?) get better over time, so one half star off for that.

the shoes were not comfortable and the left was different from the right. the leather straps were stiffer in the right shoe and there was some kind of irregular bump on the arch of the left shoe. Overall not good quality.

cannot comment on arch support as I did not wear the shoe long enough. shoe seemed a little wider than most narrow shoes that I've worn, I would have had to make additional holes in the straps to make them tighter and even then slightly loose in the back of the shoe. making the strap tighter across the toes would not have worked as the leather is not soft and would have cut my skin. cute shoe to look at but will not work for me.

There is nothing wrong with the style of the shoes but the pair I got have been worn. I will get another pair and hopefully it will be a new pair.

I really liked the style of these sandals, but the buckle was too irritating, and the strap didn't lay quite right on my feet. I have a high instep so this may not be a good fit others with the same.

These are very cute and I have no doubt they would be comfortable but the ankle strap was so short I couldn’t really get the shoes buckled comfortably.

Typically I am a size 39 in Birkenstock, but had to exchange for a 40 (which fit great)! Comfy & well made. I didn’t realize until I got the size 40 but I think the 39 pair was used- no original box and no tags, which the 40s came with. Zappos makes returns easy & the 40s arrived next business day which was a pleasant surprise.

I've been a 37 in Birkenstsock/Papillio for years but my toes almost come to the top edge which would be uncomfortable for walking. I'm going to have to try a 38 and get back to you.

Normally I highly recommend Papillio (Birkenstock) shoes. Most of them are the most comfortable shoes I own, while still looking good. This particular style, however, has uncomfortable straps, which rub the ankles. I recommend almost any other Papillio! I wear the heeled slides all summer, and have them in three colors.

I have these in the tan color and like them, especially the arch support. Although they're called "narrow," the footbed is not narrow at all. But adjustable strap over the toe enables you to make it narrower, so it works okay. But--in the black color, the leather is much stiffer, especially the strap over the toe, and its edges dig into my foot, so I have to return them.

I ordered the cognac oiled leather pair and immediately noticed the “oiled” style looks much more “dirty” and distressed than the online images portrayed. Also, I have normal sized ankles but struggled to buckle the ankle strap even at the last hole - way too tight for comfort. For comparison, I own a pair of these sandals in black and LOVE them! Either I received an “off” pair, or there is a major difference in stiffness and length of straps between the different color leathers.

I was so excited to find these sandals in a narrow width. The footbed was just right and felt comfortable and supportive. However, the straps were the problem. I've never had a narrow shoe make my foot look so wide. The leather is very stiff and it was difficult to adjust the straps to make them tighter. The curve of the strap at the ankle was also awkward. It did not wrap around my ankle well; it bulged out on the side even when buckled tighter. The wedges are also HEAVY! The height is just right, but I actually thought this was a fall waiting to happen trying to walk with all that weight strapped to my feet. This may not be a problem for someone younger, but in my mid-50s, I just can't wear shoes like that anymore. They're a really great looking sandal though. I wish I had been able to keep them.

I wanted to like the sandals. They're really cute, but the leather is so stiff and uncomfortable. It dug into the tops of my feet and hurt to walk in. I went with the Aetrex Lexa. The leather was much softer, and it had a more padded foot bed.

My feet are very narrow and they didn't fit the foot the way I expected them to. Also, I was expecting the style to be more upscale. I will be attending an outdoor wedding and this will not work.

I love the style, but the ankle strap was way too small to buckle - even though my ankle is fairly regularly sized. The angle that the strap is cut also made fastening the strap even harder to do. I had to return these.

Love Birkenstock and really wanted to love these sandals to wear to work in the summer and with dresses for more of a polished look, but, sadly, had to return them. Bought my usual Birkenstock sandal size, but toes slide too close to front edge and heel slips forward in the sandal even though arch sits in the right place on the heel. I suspect sizing up wouldn't have helped. Adjusting straps tighter doesn't do trick. And, as others have mentioned, the leather under the toe buckle rubs, but I would expect goes away with them breaking in.

When I first put these on I was thrilled… they look great and the sole hugs your whole foot perfectly… the arch support is great. Then I noticed the toe strap felt a bit uncomfortable … it pressed against the top of my foot. I hoped it would get better but it only bothered me more and more. I see that another buyer had this problem too. Have to decide whether I can keep them.

I wanted to love these shoes so much but unfortunately this was not the case. Fit was a bit too big and the buckle on the bottom cut into my skin. I am normally a size 7 in birks, so I bought a size 7 here but these were too big.

This sandal was ok but not perfect. I was looking for something I could wear to do a ton of walking this summer in Europe. I just don't think the straps and heel height are going to be comfortable without an extended break-in period for the straps. If you are fine with that breaking-in period, then they could work for you. The listed heel height is incorrect right now on the listing- they are about a 2.25" heel height. I would have preferred to not have the brand Papillio so prominently displayed on both of the shiny buckles as well as a very obvious brand on the back of the ankle strap. They would look nicer without it.

Not a true 2 AA, has gap at heels and toes slide and pass front of sandals.

Cute but sole was too stiff to be comfortable for walking.

Who knew Birkenstock had a dress shoe that would be as comfortable as their flats and also provide support for my high arch? Brilliant for those special occasions
